I am not Italian but I grew up watching Italian TV. All the movies, all the concerts , shows . It was like i was watching my country's TV. Italy was the only country that kept us connected with the western world. Albania is so close to Italy and most of Albanians speak Italian. I always admired Sofia Loren. Watching her movies took me to another world. God bless her. God bless Italy.

I am not Italian, but I love Italy, one country that I have visited 3 times in my life. There are so many things in Italy to be proud, culture, food, places, but Sophia is a great italian icon. God Bless this great country and mine too.

The looks on the faces of all those young actresses touched me too. I believe they find Ms. Loren not just an icon, but a woman who reached the pinnacle of her profession through sheer hard work and talent (and good choices). That is inspiring to them.

Carlo Ponti Jr. attended USC where he majored in classical music...He is now a symphony conductor who regularly appears throughout Southern California...

My God, the first women I ever fell in love with! The class, the beauty, and a body that drove this 62 year old man crazy. She is the reason I watched foreign films as a kid. All my love and respect for you Ms.Loren!!

I'll take Gina, and I don't know if she's the most beautiful woman of all time, but I think she has more beauty and definitely more sex appeal that Sophia. You'd like to be in bed with Gina. Sophia you'd like to have around the house so you could gaze at her now and then like a sculpture. There both beautiful, no doubt about that, but Gina,for me, is more desireable.

As Loren aficianados are aware, she and Gregory Peck co-starred in Stanley Donen's film "Arabesque" in 1966 and had great chemistry. Loren is still making movies and going strong.

How gorgeous is she?!?! And such a class act!

Her sons are very handsome. Good genes.

è un'attrice immensa. Ma avrei tanto voluto un oscar anche per Marcello Nastroianni. è stato candidato tre volte ( Divorzio all'italiana, Una giornata particolare e Oci ciornie) e purtroppo non ha mai vinto. Ma una carriera costellata di successi come la sua meritava un Oscar onorario. ( non dimentichiamo La dolce vita, Otto e mezzo, Ieri oggi e domani, tutti film osannati in tutto il mondo e alcuni anche vincitori di Oscar). Peccato!

I think it is. It is hard to tell cuz I've only heard it with lyrics, or can only remember hearing it with lyrics. The instrumentation throws me off, but that unmistakable, "theme", I guess you would call it, comes through repeatedly because it is sung or played repeatedly in "Stranger In Paradise." Like I know, but that's my guess.

As Coco Chanel said - "At older age we get the face we deserve". I like Sophia too, but my favorite is Gina Lollobrigida. But ALL of them are beautiful. Nothing can compare to them now. Beauty, charm, talent...all this is in the past, gone.... We can be just grateful to them for the STANDART of beauty they set up.

What I meant was that after being subjected to an onslaught of surgically altered stars, especially enlarging some things (breasts, lips) and reducing other things (nose), girls might be puzzled by the success and popularity of Sophia, a natural beauty of another era.

A Krenwinkle My ex-wife said for years that her nostrils were too large and she wanted surgery. They seemed fine to me, and I took it as a whimsy. Then we separated for six months and when we reconnected I immediately saw she had ruined herself with surgery. I burst into tears. Women are responsible for keeping their insecurities in check. Nobody forces them to buy into fashion industry bullshit; certainly not most husbands.
