Orderd new capacitor for this model yesterday and i found your video today. Insane coincidence that I found your video today. None of my capacitors are bulging but i think it will still fix the problem due to us shareing the same symptoms. Will report if my issue resolved itself once i finished my repair!

I watched this video before repairing my CT60. It's the 1000uf 16V capacitor needs to be replaced. It's better to get a ESR or fluke circuit multimeter to identify which one is broken but it costs $200 so I chose the one that it looks a little bit bumpy and it solved the problem!! thank for posting this video so I can fix it by myself.

Don't forget electrolytics are polarized. Make sure you pay attention when reinstalling a new cap.

Glad I found this before I threw it away. Already replaced the living room sound bar and upgraded, and just upgraded the bedroom one and this was in there last, than pulled up and seen your video. Gonna grab my capacitors and see if I have the right one tomorrow if not I’ll order and swap it to move this to the garage for some better sounding tunes out there. Right on man! PS “good enough for the girls I run with” had me dying 😂😂☠️

I have the exact same sound bar with the exact same problem. A couple of weeks ago I had to press and hold the remote power button a few times to get it to power up, then one night the light just flashed and no power up. If I unplug it and wait a few minutes, it will do the same thing, flash light but no power up. So I had an electrician friend replace the same capacitor you did and 5 others in the same area that look suspect. Put it back together but same thing; flashes on briefly but won't stay on. So I inspected the board and can see that there is an area on the bottom side of the board right under the title lettering beside that empty white receptacle; the area has a series of parallel solder lines of various sizes. Those lines in your video are all solder-coloured where as mine are half solder coloured and have copper coloured. Are they burnt and could this be my issue? I have pictures but can't figure out how to post a picture in this comment LOL

Your soldering iron tips are ruined because of how you are using the tip tinner. The name is unfortunate because it is easily confused for the technique of properly tinning your tips. Tinning you tip means to keep a fresh thin layer of solder on the tip. the old solder that is on it oxidizes readily especially when it gets hot. Flux with remove the oxides and allow solder to wet the tip. It's largely the solder on the tip that transfers heat to the work object. Covering the tip with fresh flux core solder and then wiping it off with brass wool or a damp cellulose sponge just before soldering the joint is the best practice. That little tin of "Tip tinner" or sal ammoniac is a way to restore a badly oxidized tip so that it can once again be wetted by solder. The tip tinner is a compacted powder of made of very small balls of solder and a very active flux (along with a binder and maybe some other ingredients. When you have a tip so badly oxidized that solder can no longer wet it, you can use the tip tinner to restore it. But after rubbing the tip in the tinner you need to clean it off because the flux in the tinner is so activated that it can corrode your tips. What I do is wipe off the tinner from the tip then immediately then flood the tip with solder and wipe it off. I do this about 3 times.
