Thank you! The RX0 ii is definitely a great primary camera for vlog style shooting, or as a second angle with an APS-C or larger sensor camera as your main angle in a short film. Same goes for food, it's convenient that's it's tiny and tough to capture different angles (overheads for example), but food photography really shines when you have a macro lens on an interchangeable lens camera. ☺️

I live in the Arizona desert. This is going on the end of a selfie stick along with a small ball head. I will use it for photographing reptiles at low to ground level without having to crouch and while keeping my distance from venomous snakes

Best buy I have done Have it about 8 months now and still try out new things No problem with auto focus just use Pf except for real real close shots I have add variable ND filter and gimbal with battery support filming until my 128 gb card is full. (3-5 hours) Also use rode wireless mic in the 3.5 mm jack

@@garypardyphotography I have a cage from smallrig on the camera it has 37 mm threads for filters. I can also use the cold shoe for external mic or in my case rode go wireless transmitter. You can also change the front on the camera to a front with 37 mm threads. but then it is not watersafe

I think it's okay when you think about the used price at one year after launch.

True, but the trouble is in finding them on the used market! At least in my neck of the woods... niche products like this are hard to come by 😓

hello ! what's the battery life and how long can record for? is it continuous record ?

Battery life for video is rated at 60 minutes. Recording limit is 29 minutes per file. Of course, you can extend battery life with a cheap external battery or AC power, and recording limit can be bypassed with an external recorder.

I've actually been thinking about this camera lately. There are still few true competitors in its class. The Insta360 One R might be the only other one that comes close - it's modular, more versatile, better video specs, and better priced. If I were shopping today, I'd pick the Insta360 One R, but I'd be happy with either.

Good question, Roger! I'm going to say no, just based partly on the launch of the ZV-1, another compact, vlogger-centric camera. With the mark 1, internal 4k was a glaring omission and the flip screen was a major upgrade. With the only Achilles heel for the RX0 ii being the lack of continuous AF in video, I can't see Sony rushing to refresh such a niche product.

It's not something I have any experience with, but I'd be more reassured with a device like the RX0 ii which is waterproof straight out of the box than my main shooter in a waterproof enclosure. There are, of course, underwater accessories and enclosures for the RX0 ii as well ☺️

only learned here that there's firmware 2.0, thanks... i just installed on my camera but it still doesn't refocus on half press while recording on AF-S... not sure if there's any particular setting in need to change

@@reyskidude it's kind of hidden after installing the update. You have to assign [One-touch AF] to a key under [Camera Settings 2] > [🎬 Custom Key]

Fixed in later videos by using wide focus area, AF-C, face detection on, and slow AF tracking.

@@realmattjc it is indeed! And there's a bit more competition now with the Insta360, maybe others? Used prices for the RX0 II are getting reasonable if you can find it!
