The price is steep but boy it's something I could use in the rain, water, and fog. Plus no worries about sensor dust. The 1" sensor is a big deal to me.

I like the size of the RX0. It fits nicely in my pocket, when I'm out running or cycling. And not worrying about it getting wet or dropped etc. So I wouldn't want it to be any bigger, even if it added more features or improved battery life. I'd agree the interface and menu system is not great. A lot more complicated than my Lumix cameras, and fiddly with the small buttons.

Fantastic review 💚 Glad you brought the RX100 into perspective. I'm comparing this Rx0 with the insta360 one rs 1 inch wide as I am interested in a tiny camera that can sort of handle low-light video.

I shoot a lot of muticam live events like theatre, dance shows, concerts, and orchestra. I normally use 3 cameras but I could see using this with my kit. Imagine sticking this on a piano. Normally it is difficult to get a camera on stage to shoot a drummer or an orchestra leader without being too obtrusive. The only snag I see with this is hiding the USB battery and possibly overheating from shooting continously for long periods.

The GR mark III has sensor-stabilisation, and is very compact with a slightly tighter frame of 28mm eq. and APS-C. This is the only Sony camera which interests me, though.

I just love its design. That is a good enough reason to carry one. Plus, it is a decent camera. I just want one thing. Some sliding or popup lens cover.

The Sony app should have menu navigation for this camera.

This is a great and honest review. The best I've seen on KZread insofar as reviewing this camera. About the size, I totally agree. Make it a tad larger, fix the continuous focus issue and give us a larger battery. Idk what the hell is wrong with these companies. Same applies to Apple for example. Why you're insisting on a thin cheapness invoking phone with a terrible battery if you could make it 3 mm thicker who's gonna even notice? I feel it's all profiteering and marketing. I'm trying to make a rational decision between this and the GoPro 11 and I feel it's hard to make up my mind.

Weight matters more to me than size. I have one on order and plan to use it for ground level photography by putting it on the end of a selfie stick

I agree, especially since getting severely injured in a car accident. I hope Sony gives us a third generation RX0

Thanks for this video: it was very useful as I was seriously umming and arring over this camera. The 1 inch sensor was especially making me think about it. But, having now seen that Sony have crammed their woeful menu system into that tiny rear screen, and, I had no idea it had fixed focus frankly, or limited stabilisation capability, those are kind of deal breakers for something that costs almost double that of a GoPro, or even the Insta 360 R, which looks incredibly interesting for less money. I am a Sony fan in that my favourite Sony camera of all time is my RX1R Mark II: which is, for me anyway, a triumph of miniaturisation packing as it does a full Sony A7R Mark II into a camera not a great deal bigger than the RX100 series camera to make a difference (putting its protruding Zeiss Sonnar 35mm f/2 lens aside, of course). But this camera here seems to go to the heart of Sony's apparent interest in pushing out "firsts" to the market, as an experiment, and continuously improve it from there (whereas what most of us want is the polished/ perfected product). I say what I did there in brackets, because, this doesn't seem unlike the RX1 series pushing out "unperfected firsts" to the market, at a premium price: exactly why I didn't buy an RX1 OR RX1R. But, when the RX1R Mk II arrived, with it's phase detect hybrid, continuous and eye AF, brilliant retractable EVF, articulated viewing screen, and superior sensor and imaging engine... I knew then I had to have it and, 4 years later, STILL love it (though wonder where on Earth the RX1 (R) Mark III is (?) I can see why the RX0 camera might appeal, but, not at that price: I think they've overcooked that. Might as well get a second hand Sony RX100 MKV or VI instead, frankly, or an Insta 360 or Go Pro Hero Black

I switched from a G7X mark II and purchased my RXO II the same week it come out a year ago and I still love it, the firmware 2.0 made it a better camera even though I hardly use the auto focus while record

Most people don't use continuous autofocus anyway. They use manual or af-s.

Year 2020 we got more options. For example, insta360R 1inch which has better stabilization, 5.6K video and great picture quality.
