Totally agree with you Every Day Dad, In fact my favourite setup at the moment is the rx100V together with the DJI Pocket Osmo. Both so small and pocketable but together are such an incredibly powerful combo, they are amazing! Especially because much like you, I dont want to carry a crazy amount of camera gear around.

Towards the end, you mentioned there are better options for the same price tag of the RX0 II. What are they?

Can you please answer why you did field tests in 24fps? Why not 50/60? Thanks in advance

I have heard it can do longer than 15 mins in 4K. I need to record 4K for about an hour with the rx0 II. It will be in a cool climate. Will it record this long without overheating?

Can you set up the focus to manual?

hi bro . .i have sony rx 100 m5. . . .is it a better option that sony A6000 with kit lens instead rx100 m5 ? .. im a ameture photographar .. . i dont want to spend money on lens . . . .. i take street photo, nature . . . what should i go with ?

I'll stick to my RX100 VA which I just recently bought. As far as tiny cameras go, I have a Sony FDRX3000 but found I barely used it. Just like super-zoom cameras, they're pretty cool at first, but pretty quickly (mine anyway), they end up jut gathering dust on a shelf or something. Before I bought the RX100VA I had five or six cameras, but of them all, I really only used my Lumix LX100. Most of the others were really just one-trick ponies.

I was making the same vide last night but mine was trash I'm glad the goat made it instead 😂😜. P.s. in low light the rx100v blows the rx0ii out of the water. The f4 doesn't stand a chance vs the f1.8 on the rx100v

Yeah 1.8 makes the rx100 actually useable indoors unlike some camcorders or the f4 on the rx 0 👍

yeah I just got the rx0 ii and am somewhat disappointed with the indoor shots due to the f4. With my old rx100, the max I could accept was f1.8 at 1600 ISO. Now with the rx0ii, I can barely stand f4 at 800 ISO. I think 400 ISO with f4 is my max threshold. If the rx0 was with f1.8, it would be closer to my ideal B-cam even if there isn't af-c Trying to find alternatives, but nothing fits these categories for me -size of rx0 with weather proofing -flip out screen -f1.8 min -at least 1 inch sensor (so no gopro/action cameras)

@@nariza7 yeah it's actually worse than a phone camera indoors lol. I think the qx100 is old but pocketable and has that f1.8 1 inch spec. Works really well with the app. Doesn't have manual controls for movie unfortunately

the bokeh is no way with the RX0 II. But I seem to remember other videos where the RX0 II had a quite pleasant bokeh... Am I wrong?

No audio mic port is the kiss of death for me. The RX0 II is just too expensive for me as already own a GoPro H7B. Maybe if it goes on sale as like small waterproof cameras for the woods.

Yeah when using the rx100v I have a zoom external audio recorder to make up for that missing audio port because even if it had one where would you mount the microphone/transmitter? I’d give up the evf for a cold shoe mount 👍

Are u using the new rode wireless go ?

Outside of the studio the audio is from the Wireless Go 👍

Help my canon g7x ll vs Sony RX 0 ll.

In other videos, you highlight the fiddle-di-ness of the camera, but in this video you don't spend much time on the fiddle-di-ness of the RX0 ii. Sony has a reputation for having poor menus and yet, somehow, Sony made the menu of the RX0 even more nightmare-ish. You have to enter the menu to do a lot of very common things. For example, Shooting Mode and Exposure Compensation are buried in the menus. To change the shutter speed, you have to first go into the menu to switch to Manual Mode and then return to the menu to find the Shutter Speed options. If you want to switch to Digital Zoom (which is surprisingly good), it’s at a 4 step process, again delving into the menus. As you mentioned, navigating the menus is not easy with the tiny up-down direction buttons. The RX100 smooths out all of those problems and many others.

the quality of this camera is amazing when it will be available in Europe

It’s definitely the more “traditional” camera but I’m constantly shocked by how small the rx0 is 👍

RX0 ii price tag should include digital ND filters.

@@TheEverydayDad The video is at 24fps which has irritating Judder playing on my industry standard 30/60fps monitor. I'm guessing you know the math, and you also know that KZread doesn't have 3:2 Pulldown Telecine that streaming sites like Netflix etc. employ for smoother 24fps on normal 30/60fps TVs and monitors. Or, perhaps you have a costly auto-switch/auto-sync monitor and graphics card system and you don't even realize that your 24fps video doesn't play well on affordable standard systems like most of us have.

Also can't get why using 24fps during tests? Any motion recorded in 24fps is looking bad

Why sony why? If they can put mic input in rx0 body Why they don't on rx 100
