Thanks for the 4k - HD side-by-side shots. I have't seen those anywhere else. In general, the RX0 looks like a great camera for VERY specific situations. For the average user, this camera makes no sense at all. I could see this as a good camera to sacrifice in a bigger budget production. My only use where I would have found it handy is when I was getting shots of a car interior from the cars front A-pillar (I have a Shogun for the 4k). The producer wanted a specific shot in 4k without fisheye. I ended up modifying my GoPro Hero 4 Black with a Rib-Cage kit so I could use a lenticular (little/no distortion) wide-angle lens. All-in, using the RX0 with the Shogun still would cost more, but I already had the Shogun. So the RX0 would have been a cheaper option for me.

BTW, after years of using SLOG-2, I'd recommend not using most LUT's when doing a image critical comparison. I rarely use pre-made LUT's with it anymore choosing instead to make my own LUT's based on the footage. But when I'm feeling lazy or don't have the time, I stick with Allister Chapman's SLOG-2 LUT's and grade from there.

Agreeing with all of this. I plan to use the RX0 with a Shogun for a shoot next week, getting it into a tight spot, while my only anxiety is that the lighting will be so low as to require an ISO above 1600. My assessment is that the sensor noise is barely acceptable at 1600, and unacceptable above that.

I just bought a used RX0 and it's perfect for a high quality 1080p30 webcam mounted above a piano keyboard for a teacher, who switches to a Blackmagic p4k for the side view. The small size and lower price gives it an advantage over the RX100V. A higher shutter speed and less motion blur is just fine.

Concerning the Memory menu, you have to choose MR (Memory Recall) in shoot mode to get access to this.

They shop charge 20 bucks to get time lapse on Sony a7 line -___-. But cool video dude. I think u were a bias comparing the camera to a professional dslr. But I liked how in depth you got with your review. What I find the most interesting is putting the camera on a small 3 axis gimbal and getting good footage put of it. (Maybe not great) but good enough.

Hang on.. isn't it marketed for high frame rates? So it might work out better when shooting 60 fps or 120fps in 1600 iso where you'd be able to match the 180* shutter rule. And you can also use nd filters (for an odd cost though).

Maybe less than GoPro, since this isn't quite a pure action camera either, but you're right, at higher frame rates, the 1600 ISO minimum is at least slightly less problematic (even though the noise floor remains quite high). Since this video, several ND filter solutions have evolved from knock-off manufacturers (in this rare case, God bless them in comparison to Sony's grabby greed): amzn.to/2FYHCCe

you should use zeebras at +110 with S-log2 or overexpose it at least by +2EV

Slog2 gamma on all those sony cameras that cost less than $1500 is a great marketing trick. It is almost unusable because it forces ISO to 1600 and noise comes out. I bought RX100 V and I have the same problem almost everywhere - it is very grainy so it is unusable without good noise reduction like NeatVideo or Denoiser. Also, it is not recommended to shoot in Slog in low light on these cameras because of this noise. You either need to spend $2000-3000 or use Cine mode, underexpose it in favor of a lower ISO and than add dynamic range in post.

Wow - there is a FLIP - (and auto flip) - some JA somewhere posted there was no FLIP capability.

Noise Blah Blah Blah

Listening to you talk is just noise to my ears..Slog is a grading footage, not straight from the cam. Noise is not a problem with this cam. You haven't a clue to it's use and should sell it.
