Your confusion over Nega being Eggman's descendant is a bit weird to me, since Eggman is canonically over 50 years old. He looked up to Gerald as a child while Gerald was still alive, and Gerald died 50 years ago. It's entirely possible that Eggman ALREADY has children out there, maybe even grandchildren, but he's just an evil bastard and doesn't visit them. Nega is inevitable.

Let's not forget one detail in Shadow's game. If you survive and wait long enough in the final battle, Eggman actually confesses that he lied to Shadow about having created him in the game, as he says Shadow is the real one, and NOT a clone of the original.

Isn't Sonic just 15-16ish hroughout the whole series, with the exception of 06', where he's possibly a young adult? Fictional characters really don't age.
