The thing is, it’s not the fault of the people who made it. Given the time and resources, they probably would have been more than willing to do this stuff before the game even launched. But Sega’s top dogs are as much asshats as the top dogs of pretty much any other corporation.

So happy to see this. I like Origins, but it has its faults. This looks to fix almost every problem for me, and I can’t thank you all enough for making this.

You have done a very important thing! Now I can call Origins the official way to play classic Sonic games without feeling like I'm playing an unpolished version of those games. While fan projects like Forever, Absolute, CD Decompilation + Restored and AIR are still the best way to play these games due to the flexibility of settings, additional content and a huge base of mods, Origins provides a neatly packaged way to immerse yourself in these games, play through the game alone after another (+ missions and mirror mode), watching animated videos, a museum and 3D islands. Thank you very much!

I got it working well for one you need to update to the developer channel for hedgemod manager secondly those getting the error after trying to install the mod just deleted all traces of the mod folder then try installing it again that's how I got it working

Sega is the new Bethesda. They just bake stuff halfway and the admittedly awesome fanbase fixes them

Thank god this exist, I kinda had issues with Sonic Origins. It’s always the fans who do the good stuff while SEGA keeps on messing it up. Not saying SEGA is terrible, I kinda still like them.

Genuinely never thought to buy this game. I was fine with the pc ports of the mobile versions. This gives me a reason to consider. Well done to the whole team.

Far too big of a change for Ultrafix, might wanna look for other mods or projects for giant moveset changes like that

If only it had the one thing announced that I wanted: Sonic 3 style save slots for every game. (And two saves per character and combination)

The question is did you guys fix the incorrect skidding sprite in sonic 1 to be the one from the original game and not the cd skidding sprite???? But for real this looks fantastic and so much love and passion was put into it. Edit: just read the patch notes and you guys actually did it, I already love this even more❤

@@supercamborg4218 Sonic Mega Collection had Flicky and Ristar as bonus games, with Japan getting Comix Zone and The Ooze as exclusive bonuses. And Sonic Gems Collection had Vectorman and Vectorman 2 as bonus games, with Japan getting Bonanza Bros. and Bare Knuckle 1, 2, and 3 as exclusives. Monster World IV was to be included as there's a thumbnail in the game's code, but it didn't make the cut.

@@X2011racer but why do you say that “if knuckles chaotix is a must, _then_ these should be added”? What’s the correlation? Chaotix would round out the collection of 2D sonic games on the Genesis, it’s more relevant for a _Classic Sonic_ collection than stuff that would’ve been on some separate collections around 20 years ago. Just because Mega Collection and Gems collection had non sonic bonuses, doesn’t mean they need to be in all Sonic collections. They weren’t in the previous example of a collection that was more of a port than just emulation, Sonic Jam back on the Saturn.

They did, and that’s the frustrating thing! They hired Christian Whitehead, famous for recreating the Sonic CD and Sonic 1 from scratch, and then they don’t use him in the actual development of the new sonic games like Superstars, but rather something completely unrelated. This is a company with history of mismanagement, and they really do belong where they are in game business.

nice work guys, but I'll keep playing Sonic Forever, Sonic 2 Absolute and Sonic 3 A.I.R.

I was never ever going to give money to Sega for all these stupid decisions they keep doing to Sonic releases but thanks to the amazing fan community, these fantastic original games can be better preserved and play how they were originally designed plus adding true new experiences and not ruining them. Thanks for all your hard work! This is going to be so fun to play these games thanks to the cateful attention of fans, not Sonic Team.

Does this restore the original music tracks in Sonic 3 (Ice Cap Zone and the like?)

Reading through the documentation, I have some questions, particularly audio-related: 1) Does this replace the new S3 tracks with the higher quality versions from the November '93 prototype? 2) Does this replace the new S3 Super theme with the more accurate fanmade version? 3) Is the audio restored in the "Try Again/You're Too Cool" segment at the end of Sonic CD?

Sonic 3 music has not changed, but there are other mods already available that do this ( such as the HQ OST Compilation gamebanana.com/sounds/62326 ) We currently don't have a way of adding new sounds or music to origins, so that 3rd request has also not been done
