I don't think Dark Gaia had anything to do with it. The machine was draining the chaos energy from the super form. He didn't start transforming until the chaos energy was used to power the Lazer and blast the planet open. If I had to guess what it was.. electro magnetic pulses, but, like, chaos energy powered? Like how an EMP can disrupt electronics, maybe this "CMP" could disrupt chaos-powered things, like a super form.. (side note, since Sonic has the emeralds, maybe the source of chaos energy for the 'CMP' are the chaos drives from the adventure games? It seems like too cool of a concept to be one-and-done) Maybe the disruption and subsequent drainage of chaos energy from the emeralds and Sonic is the *reason* Dark Gaia Energy was able to settle inside him in the first place. But idk, this is probably just me thinking too hard 😅 It's still a cool thing to think about!

I'd imagine there's potential for it to get retroactively made to be some kinda device Eggman based off Ancient tech now that we have Frontiers adding to the game lore, since their tech is meant to use the Chaos Emeralds and can contain them, it'd make sense they can extract them too.

FUN FACT: I actually watched a few DBZ movies like “DBZ: Fusion Reborn” SSJ3 transformation scene to get some tips and hold a scream that was echoing even in the credits! this was super fun and super difficult for me to pull off! but at least I got my goku scream put to work :D

@@combatmaster Currently post-recording, my voice is actually fine! I learned from some VA interviews that the screaming comes from the chest and gut, not from the throat, to avoid destroying your voice completely, so I did tons of practicing to get the technique right for it, along with difficult breath control to avoid losing energy, which means I was able to scream for a good 20-25 seconds without having to take in a single breath!

It’s quite scary for the others on how terrifying and dangerous Sonic can be when he looses control.

Someone give this guy some sort of award for making the most rawest, realistic, loudest, longest, painful, perfect scream! I've heard the most fake screams in every show/movie I've watched, but DAAAANG! He really had to do that for 21 seconds!? Im impressed!

Ok here's an interesting fact, SEGA kinda said "NO!" to any Sonic X ideas keeping it out of canon... however later on people of SEGA found Vector crush on Vanilla in Sonic X funny so the whole No to Sonic X is kinda more in the air... which means Dark Sonic does have an opening now just because SEGA wants to ship a detective crocodile and a bunny mom. Oh for where I got my source it's "BumbleKast for Dec. 21st" at 9:28

Personally I'm the opposite, I'd rather he doesn't act like fleetway, nor be a raging Sonic that needs to be calmed down. I feel it's more interesting if Dark was just a power Sonic has access to on demand and has complete control over, being able to go in and out of it at the drop of a hat. As a way to show that feeling negative emotions is bad but rather how they're used can be bad. Chaos let out his negative emotions go wild, clouding his mind in hatred. Sonic on the other hand would guide them, using them for good.

let's just keep dark sonic as super sonic but when sonic is angry instead of this psychopath

I couldn’t find anyone with a “masculine/mature” voice, so I asked him to help out with just that one line and he was super cool about it :D

Okay. This is HANDS-DOWN one of the best Sonic comic dubs I’ve ever seen! And believe me, the bar is pretty high! How you nailed the dark aura and menacing atmosphere in Sonic’s voice, and the horrifying scream once he was encased! How they managed to grab the machine from Unleashed is just beyond me- Also, kudos to AmyVA and your uncle for bringing Amy, Tails, and Knuckles to life! They show the emotions of the gang knowing what’s best for Sonic is going to hurt him, and they’re not going to enjoy this, but they’re going to have to in order to save him. Overall, amazing work!

Thank you so much!! I do my best to push everything to the best of my abilities, I practiced that scream so hard that I almost passed out mid recording. I do what I can to keep the immersion, authenticity to the line delivery, and visuals for the video. My friends and my uncle were very kind enough to help me out with the few lines they had and they nailed it! but I do my best to try and keep the emotions close to what’s being shown on screen

I’m very interested what this version of Eggman’s machine from the unleashed intro will do if they continue this comic. Since it originally drained the powers energy out of the chaos emeralds, and since dark sonic is a form obtained from the rage and darkness inside sonic along with the fake emeralds.

I still keep thinking that this is Fleetway Super Sonic / TMOM Tainted Sonic. Because they have a lot in common: Fangs, deranged curved-up hair, hyper aggression, etc, etc, etc, and coexists with Sonic.

Usually I’m not a fan of dubbed voices on KZread (but there’s a few exceptions) and this has gotta be one of them. You nailed the sonic voice and they scream perfectly, like WOW. I remember seeing this on tumblr, and seeing it as a dub is wonderful.
