I still think dark sonic should be canon, not cause it’s edgy and it looks cool, but sonic has seen a lot of shit throughout the years, one of these days he is gonna break, and considering how in the comics he’s basically the embodiment of chaos, dark sonic just makes sense to me

Although I do agree with you, you're forgetting one thing; Sonic needs the fake Chaos Emeralds and a large amount of negative emotions to transform into Dark Sonic. Unless they introduce the Metarex or something similar in the mainline universe and have someone Sonic cares for get seriously injured at least, I don't think it would be possible for Sonic to transform into Dark Sonic anytime soon.

What I like the most of Dark Sonic, opposed to Fleetway and the likes... is that Dark Sonic isn't evil, Dark Sonic isn't unreasonable, Dark Sonic isn't chaotic... Because, ultimately, Dark Sonic is the same hedgehog who roams as free as the wind, the one that follows his heart above all else, the one who would give it all for his friends... in fact, Dark Sonic wouldn't even BE without those feelings, as they're what could even push him as far as to show his darkest side to begin with... and do you know the best part?... Dark Sonic represents that, even at his worst, all Sonic really wishes is for his friends to be safe.

"I'LL GIVE YOU *ALL OF ME*!!" Hands him a CD. "Pfft. You still have that old thing? Never heard of the cloud?" "Physical over digital, lightweight."

The line "she's gonna wish you were shot dead instead of her" was really cold.

The worst part about this (at least for sonic) The rings SHATTERED, shadow didn't have them fall off, they BROKE, that means he is absolutely mad, so much so he does not even care about himself now

Dammit, this was top tier, props to whoever draw the comic, and RESPECT to the voice actors. Talking about the comic itself, giving Dark Sonic that bond-like attitude between Fleetway and Sonic himself with his usual swagger was perfect, because yeah, he totally loose it, but he is just angry, not evil. I totally love this what if, is pretty much everything I wanted to see at age of 8, and even better

I think this works pretty well as a dark form. Sonic still seems like he mostly has his faculties present, but it's tainted by his own rage and pettiness, which feels like a reasonable shift. I don't think the 'mindless berserker' works for Sonic because at his core, the idea of him being chained down anything, even his own feelings, just doesn't sit right with me.

The Eclipse Canon was never going to be able to be fired successfully. Eggman in canon DID gather all seven emeralds in Sonic Adventure 2 and immediately the computer was hacked due to Gerald leaving behind a program that would force the Ark to crash with the earth. The only way an alternate timeline would work is if Gerald didn’t care about revenge for what happened to him.

​@@jon2moniiiActually Dark Shadow and Chaos Shadow aren't the same thing since Dark Shadow is basically Shadow's mind fueled by thoughts of vengeance. Dark Shadow appears in the PS2 Shadow The Hedgehog game when you fill up the Dark Gauge or the Dark Meter by killing human soldiers and destroying the environment your in to access the transformation and the transformation is basically Shadow having a red aura around him with red eyes being able to do the Chaos Blast however it seems Sega replaced this transformation with Chaos Boost and completely forgot about Shadows hero transformation that also is in the Shadow The Hedgehog game. Dark Shadow = Thoughts Of Vengeance and doing evil acts. Chaos Shadow = Inhibitor Rings off

0:10 Bro's fleetway now- WAIT I NOTICED SOMETHING, HIS EYES WERE LIME IN THIS COMIC

It can be seen this way: Maria wanted Shadow to protect the earth and humanity, but the black hedgehog was unable to fulfill his promise and eliminated a large part of humanity, and Sonic's friends, which justifies the blue hedgehog's Dark transformation. Then Sonic quotes Maria and says how hurt she would be to see what Shadow did, soon after that a big battle between the hedgehogs starts and only one of them will come out alive. The ending I would give: Sonic ends up winning and killing Shadow. The blue hedgehog cries bitterly over the loss of his friends and the extinction of practically all of humanity, so Sonic gathers all 7 Chaos Emeralds and goes back in time, at the exact time where Gerald Robotnik is creating Shadow to warn him not to continue with the creation. The blue hedgehog explains to Gerald that he came from the future and everything he knew about Shadow, and also reveals about the destruction and extinction of almost all of humanity that Shadow was going to cause; Both Gerald and Maria would be shocked and shaken by what happened in the future, so Gerald makes the difficult decision not to continue with the Shadow project, even if it costs his granddaughter the death of the illness she had, but Sonic promises that he will give a way about it. Transforming into his Super state, he cures Maria of her illness and after resolving everything, Sonic returns to his own time and finds humanity and his friends saved, thus the hedgehog created a reboot in the timeline, where Shadow and Biolizard never existed, and where Black Doom and the Black Arms would never attack the earth. It would be like Sonic the Hedgehog 2006. (In case anyone asks why Sonic, as Super Sonic, would heal Maria, the Chaos Emeralds have the power to transform thoughts into power, so it wouldn't be something Sonic couldn't do in his super form).

As Chaos Energy roars around them, each class growing more and more destructive, the two hedgehogs relentlessly fought. Each blow Shadow dealt seemed to have its force cut in half, and added to Sonic's own strength. Each blow Sonic dealt seemed to have its effects nearly negate, as Shadows power kept ever rising. Shadow felt every fiber of his being wailing in agony, as if his very existence was on the edge of crumbling away. But he powered through it. He has shall not let this Faker act as if he knew him, as if he knew her, and get away with it. This devastation... is only the least this world's pathetic denizens deserve for what they did. And yet... As the two of them broke away, gathering all of their power for one final attack, Shadows furious eyes came into contact with Sonic's frenzied ones. Shadow was swallowed to a vision of static, an echoing voice he cherished calling out to him, just the other visions brought on by Sonic's attacks. He believed it was the Faker's useless attempts to break his resolve, but this time was different. The vision cleared revealing Maria gazing out into the stars and the Earth through the Ark's windows. He tried to approach her, but each step brought a ringing headache, accompanied by calls of his name, yet he endured for her. "Ma...ria..." Just when he reached her, she turned to meet him. And Shadow gazed upon her saddened eyes, red from wiping away tears. Shadow was shocked, before he bagan denying what was happening. Maria wanted this, she would be happy, she SHOULD be happy. "She won't."

Sonic's voice echoed throughout the vision, as shadow fell into a dark, spiraling chasm, Maria looking away, unable to bear the sight. Shadow awoke back in reality, realizing they've already unleashed the full powered attacks. And the result was mutual destruction. He could barely feel his life as it slipped away, the cold hands of death drawing nearer, but he didn't care. For memories, his true memories of his promise returned, and the guilt of betraying Maria crushed his heart. "Finally remember don't you?" Sonic's voice cackled, as he too was not unscathed by their clash. "...Sorry about what I said earlier. Kinda had to." He apologized. "...why?" Shadow merely asked. Why had he done this, why did he show him his true memories now of all times, he destroyed his world, the hedgehog had every reason to kill him. "Because if we're to fix all this, I need you at your best, your true best." Sonic stated. "There IS no way to fix this." Shadow said, ready to just accept their fate. "We live in a world where 7 Emeralds can turn thought into reality, and you're saying there isn't a way?" Sonic weakly laughed, but Shadow interjected. "Neither of us can draw on that amount of power. "Not with the Positive or Negative side of the Emeralds."

Confusion fell upon Shadow, Sonic weakly getting to his feet. "Whenever we use the Emeralds, their energy gets altered to its negative or positive state, as otherwise our bodies wouldn't be able to handle for even a second." He explained on shakìng legs. "But we can *create* it by clashing high quantities of both sides against eachother." "You... said all of that to-" Shadow was cut off by wince as he attempted to get up. "Yeah, pretty much, no matter how angry you got, you strangely never gave off any Negative Chaos Energy." Sonic said as he approached. He looked down upon Shadow, who merely stared back, a silence between them. "...why don't you want to kill me?" Shadow asked, answered by more silence. "I've destroyed your world, killed your friends, and yet you don't want to kill me." A smile crept on Sonic's face. "Cause malice ain't fast enough to catch me." Sonic looked toward the darkened sky. "And I know you did all this because you believed it was what she wanted." Sonic gazed back to Shadow, offering his hand, who stared at it for a moment before reaching out. Sonic helped the other hedgehog back on his feet with a beaming smile that contrasted his Dark form. The Emeralds descended around them, refelecting the growing light that cracked through Shadow's dark quils, and absorbed the darkness swallowing Sonic's blue. And in a flash, golden red light clashed against black azure darkness, giving birth to a torrent of colors that restored the ruined world.

If I were to give this context, I would say the island blew up and Sonic wasnt able to evacuate all of his friends in time and even if they managed to survive, he's still unaware.

This is why I love Dark Sonic. It’s a form where his insanity, anger, and sadism reach a fever pitch and the scariest part is that it’s still Sonic and technically the opposite of Super Sonic. I don’t even think he needs fake Chaos Emeralds to reach this form. The regular Chaos Emeralds can do this to him as well like it did to Chaos.
