Now this is the kind of personality and dialouge Sonic and a Sonic game should have.

Being Jason Griffith's final time voicing the Blue Blur, he gave it his ALL in this game and it was glorious!

The voice acting for everyone is really good, shame they all got replaced

"Guess I can't be the hero everytime" Idk why this line sticks with me so much all these years later I like that even though sonic will basically be deemed a villain in this land after defeating king Arthur He just laughs it off and is his cocky self

You should watch Saint Seiya, and see where the inspiration came from.

this game is prolly the best representation of sonic's character, he doesn't see himself as a knight but chooses to act knightly and learns what it means to be a knight, to have your own code of honor and act on what is right (plus being a MASSIVE nut over the Arthurian tales this game just make me smile)

Especially when he earns Excalibur. That single scene did Sonic better than every other game afterwards combined.

The way Sonic treats Amy while she is known as "Lady of the Lake" shows he really does care deeply for her and wouldn't mind her if Amy was much calmer and wasn't so obsessive

+Adam Schwartze Agreed. This, as well as some of the more heartwarming story parts of unleashed and sonic x were the first time SOnic came off as more than a cheesy do-gooder "with attitude." He really came off as a mature, developed character here. Too bad all that was flushed down the drain in colors, generations, and lost world.

42:21 "Hey! You get back here, Jason!" "JA..... SON......!!!" Seriously, this is so heartbreaking. Jason Griffith nailed the Sonic voice, let alone voicing Shadow and Jet too. Did I mention how Lisa Ortiz did the best Amy? I *really* miss the old 4Kids voice actors... I felt like Sonic's personality was amazing in this, he isn't a walking bag of puns. Crush 40? Why must you play such a dazzling song for such a sad moment... but that makes it heartwarming in the end. Sonic and the Black Knight was a memorable game, one of my first Sonic games. I love it very much and hold it close to my heart. I just hope SEGA can bring us another game like this and fix Sonic's personality for it. Please, SEGA! PLEASE! ...and SonAmy too. I like that.

So in the beginning, Sonic went to Sonic to get some chili dogs while he was running from Amy, and then he landed...there. And forgot to pay.

The instruction book for this game states Sonic was "awaiting a potentially stressful encounter with Amy". That could be interpreted any number of ways. It's also why Sonic freaks out so much upon seeing Nimue.

I just want one sonic game where sonic introduces him as "I'm sonic, sonic the hedgehog" Then it's immediately followed up with some comment like "OH, REALLY? I THOUGHT YOU WERE SONIC THE F*CKING WALRUS!"

Sonic's final words to Melina at the end are probably the most real in any Sonic game period. Lines he says that are connected both to the game..and everyone's life here. There's an end at some point..we just gotta live life to the fullest until that end comes. Take notes other franchises.. can't get more real than that.

well according to mythology Excalibur is the blade of kings and only the true king of Britain can wield it i.e King Arthur Pendragon while Caliburn is a sword of Fae(fairy) origins as the sword in the stone the 2 have become 1 in the mythology of king Arthur over the course of many millennia

Now, THIS is the writing I want back in a Sonic game. I don’t want bad jokes about the villain being bald with a mustache, I don’t want Sonic *DYING,* I don’t want Sonic rescuing a princess 4 times in the same story, all for the same reasons, I don’t want a dark and moody story where a black hedgehog shoots guns, swears, fights aliens, none of that. This is the writing I want in a Sonic game. A story that can be a little humorous at some points, and be a little serious at other points and still maintain a good balance of the action Sonic is known for. The writers of this game are (in my opinion) the best writers Sonic Team has had. I miss when Sonic games could actually be serious and not have Sonic die and make a red Echidna a serious war general. This here, ladies and gentlemen, is a good Sonic The Hedgehog story. These are the writers I would suggest be the next writers for the 30th Anniversary of our beloved blue hero’s next grand adventure.

aw I really enjoyed this game, what a cute story. I loved all the banter between Caliburn and Sonic XD. I really like Caliburn! She was in danger, as far as I can tell. She only became super powerful once Sonic beat three Knights of the Round Table, defeated "Arthur," then gave her the scabbard.

This Sonic game is sooooo badly underrated. In my opinion it is a game worth playing. The story, the voicing and the music go so well with each other. I heard that the wii remotes are the reason to its biggest letdown when it came to this game but tbh I never really had much a problem, ofc with a bit practice you'll get better.

In terms of the gameplay itself i'm not sure, but i'm terms of story, art style, voice acting, dialogue, ambientation and soundtrack, this is one of my favorite sonic games of all times.

I wish they showed the aftermath of Sonic beating Shadow, would’ve loved to have seen his reaction like all the others .
