Sometimes Words Move me to Tears…. You’re a Wildfire…Burn Bright

Ойын-сауық

Don’t we deserve to open our eyes and rejoice in the mere fact that we’re alive and that we woke up here and that we can marvel in our existence.
It is a tragedy to believe even for a second that you are not the culmination of each incredible improbable moment that lead to your existence.
Hold your head up high and don’t you even think of wasting any more of your precious moments looking down on yourself.
Wake up, you deserve that.
You are human.
You are alive.
Wake up.
You’re a wildfire.
Burn bright.

That is beautiful - I totally agree. One of my favorite mantras is "Bloom where you are planted". One can always wish that things had been different or that they'd have taken a different path - but what if they had and the result had turned out worse? Nope - I believe that things happen for a reason. We are meant to learn the lessons we set out for ourselves and the best thing we can do is to make the best of what we have and where we are. Finding the "silver lining" in every day is my secret to being happy.

Thank you for sharing Bev. Life is full of second guessing, doubts, wondering if you have taken the right path or made the right choices. You wonder and sometimes get lost in looking over your shoulder instead of seeing what lies ahead. In January I lost the most beautiful person I have ever known. We recently held a Celebration of Life for her. It was very difficult and very beautiful and sad all at once. Not knowing where to go, how to move on, or what choices to make was the hardest part. I wrote this as it has been my experience with grief and loss and choices or paths. Death is the worst thing in life, but there are so many reasons to find beauty in what surrounds us and kindness is the foundation of what brings me peace. This is what I shared, what I wrote about my experience, my loss. The Journey Back Grief is a journey we all must take at some point in our lives. You don’t get to choose the destination, the path you take or when you leave. At first there is darkness, you can’t see where you are or where you are going and the first step is filled with uncertainty and doubt. As light begins to embrace you, you wonder which way you must go. You look over your shoulder and see warm bright embers of light, flickering, and fading behind you. Those pieces of the past, memories of happiness and what once was. You look ahead and there is only darkness in the distance. Loneliness, emptiness and a feeling of profound, overwhelming sadness are all you know. You don’t know what to do. You can’t go back to where you came for the light is fading quickly and you won’t find your way. You must move ahead and as the light brightens you begin to see paths before you, many, many paths, twisting, fading and rising up into the hills and over the mountains ahead. It is clear that no single path is the right path as they all seem windy and difficult. There are no signs, no guides, no compass, just light. What lies ahead is unknown, something you fear, but that’s what life is, it is all unknown, it is not planned. Where you have been prepares you for where you need to be; it prepares you for your journey. You know you must choose a path for staying where you are will leave you in darkness, in a place that remains sad. You choose one path and once you put your foot on it all the other paths are gone, they just disappear, you are alone, you are on your own. The light gets brighter and you feel its warmth and you are certain this is the path you need to be on. As you push forward, you feel confident, but soon you see the path begins to fade and you feel lost. It is when you are lost that you feel somebody take your hand and pull you forward. You proceed, you have doubts, you ask questions, but you never get an answer. Soon the path begins to twist and at times it seems to be going backwards, but you persevere, as you now feel somebody at your side. You reach the hills and you find the climb is difficult, but again you feel a strong warm breeze at your back, friends and family, helping to push you forward. Sometimes the path slopes downward and you begin to run, but you run too fast and stumble and fall, and again you feel a hand to help you up. You reach more hills and you stop to rest at a bench along the path. You look back at the hills behind you and you know you have come far, you feel proud. You think about today, remember where you were yesterday, the day before that, the weeks before and months that have passed. But you can’t stay. You must leave for the light behind you is still fading and you must move forward to stay in the light. The path grows so wide that you feel the journey is easy now, you feel rested, confident and ready. But soon the path gets very narrow and you are afraid, you wonder if you can stay on it as there is only room for you, you are alone. The hills subside and you reach a meadow, you know you have come far and the struggle seems to fade. You can see a path on the other side of the meadow, so you proceed but the ground is hard, so hard and jagged it hurts your feet, you stop, kneel down and cry. How can you continue on your own, how can you feel so alone? The pain subsides and the ground softens, you feel rejuvenated as you press ahead. You reach the mountains and they seem impossible to climb, so difficult that you just can’t move on. You remember the light, the past, the pain and the happiness. The light grows brighter and the path gets easier. You feel that flicker of light within you, guiding you forward. You reach the top of the mountains and you see many more valleys and mountains ahead. Your journey has only just begun, but you have come such a long way and now you feel you can take any path to any place. It is the journey that makes you who you are, not the destination. In the end, all paths lead to one place, but it is how we get there that defines us and prepares us for what lies ahead. Happiness is there for us all, so make the most of your journey.

@quash8 Thank you for posting this comment. I’ve felt what you said “if you are not pursuing your dreams there are others who will enlist you to pursue theirs”. I felt this but until now had not seen it spelled out so clearly. Most of my life I’ve been helping others pursue their dreams. I was paid to do so as a personal assistant. And as a wife and mother it came natural to do so in that sector my life. Then an unexpected set of circumstances occurred, 2 years ago, which lead me to van-life-camping. I used to joke saying i spent my life helping other people succeed and I was good at it lol I enjoy helping people but it has a down side too. I am just thankful I read your comment and the opportunity for van-travels have opened a door for me to pursue my dreams too.

I go back and forth over whether the circumstances that lead me to vanlife were unexpected or not. I can pull a thread clear back to childhood vacations in a pop up camper that makes it seem like destiny. Then in the next moment it feels like a flood hit my life and I bobbed up clutching a van, not out of choice but necessity. I've been working since I was14; after today I have just two Monday's left before I push away from the dock. Will I bob, will I steer, will I sink? Terrifying excitement. Simply C, we've got skills, we can do this, we can burn brightly!

I just received my THIRD offer to manage a bar in Panama in 18 years. The first I wasn't ready for, the second was too messy, this one, I am doubting myself and at my age there may not be another offer. Totally self inflicted doubt. Yes I needed to hear this.

JC, I posted this on my Facebook feed recently and feel called to share it with you… For all of my classmates turning 60 this year…. Including myself. Such an important reminder!! An extensive study in the U.S.A found that the most productive age in human life is between 60-70 years of age. The 2nd. most productive stage of the human being is from 70 to 80 years of age. The 3rd. most productive stage is from 50 to 60 years of age. The average age of NOBEL PRIZE winners is 62 years old. The average age of the presidents of prominent companies in the world is 63 years. The average age of the pastors of the 100 largest churches in the U.S.A. is 71. The average age of the Popes is 76 years. This tells us in a way that it has been determined, that the best years of your life are between 60 and 80 years. A study published in NEW ENGLAND JOURNAL OF MEDICINE found that at age 60, you reach the TOP of your potential and this continues into your 80s. Therefore, if you are between 60 -70 or 70-80 you are in the BEST and 2nd. level of your life. SOURCE: N.Engl.J .Med. 70,389 (2018) .. 😉I send you this information so that you can re-think when you say that you are old 😊 ..... this walk called life is just beginning 🥳

Powerful positive thoughtful words, i thimk commonly as we get oldet hopefilly wiser we spend to much time on self reflection which is not a bad thing for self improvement, but the downside is we think to much and always think about the whats ifs and what could have beens, instead of just enjoying the current moments.Be present dont look back and look forward whilst enjoying the moment.
