And such a great detour from van life 😁 About the shingles vaccine, had my first dose a month ago without any side effects, then second in the series is coming up in another month - that's the one they say can give ya a punch. Since you may have had shingles recently, definitely check with your primary health care provider. Hope it all goes well.

Hi, Bev! Glad to get my laughs in again with you. When you talked about the beaver blood moon, figured the next shot would be you running on Galveston Beach in your beaver costume. 🤣🤣❤️. But instead just laughed to myself thinking you sure missed an opportunity.. 😂. Yes, I have had the shingle shots; no reactions or problems. I would definitely recommend it, I remember when my grandmother got shingles some 30 years ago and the pain she went through. I didn’t want to go through that experience at all, that was my reason to take the shots.

Shingles injections are very hard on people. I heard this from many people when I was in healthcare. Great video, Bev! We really enjoyed it! :-).

I haven't done the shingles shot, but I'll take this as a reminder that I probably should. I truly missed seeing your videos, but was pretty zen about believing you were up to something great, as always, and a video would eventually surface. It's great to see you pursuing making art, as one/some of your most amazing videos have been when you were appreciating art. It brings me back to the small handful of art-museum dates I've ever been on, all of which were special because of the mood, warmth, relaxation, and sharing it can prompt. Returning back on a subway to our cars one time, a 2nd date and I ended up dancing on the subway platform, and within a few seconds had 100 people around us watching, oohing/aahing and cheering. Not what we were looking for, but as magical as the art in its own way. Time out on the water counts for 10x the living, whether it's smooth or rough. Nothing like the night sky at sea, on a boat not lit up.

Cool!! As a former 30 plus year boater I am glad you got to enjoy it. Diving shipwrecks in Lake Superior, going down the Mississippi from MN to MO and also towing the family cruiser from MN to the Florida Keys I had so many adventures in boating. As a side note it was 47 years ago today the Edmund Fitzgerald sank with all 29 souls on board. They left Duluth MN on an unseasonably warm afternoon of December 9th and the wrath of hell hit them on the 10th. People that don't know that inland ocean just don't understand the power it has. Many ocean going vessels are shocked how bad it gets when the lake gets angry.

Dan it’s amazing to me how similar van life and sail boat life can be. I enjoy both. I was surprised that it took us 24 hours just to get out of the Chesapeake Bay. The wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald will forever be commemorated by the song.

I’m sitting in my living room at home with snowflakes drifting to the ground on November 11, and stumbled on your video, I miss the south and can’t wait for my next cruise this winter,. My motorhome is parked in the driveway waiting for warmer climes, I wish I had the nerve to drive from eastern Canada where I live,too Florida. Hi Bev My gmother suffered so much with shingles in the middle of her back and needed help soothing the pain. Needless to say, I just got my first of two shots two weeks ago and it was like a butterfly kiss; however, three hours later, yikes! It will be pretty sore, red, and 3" in diameter. A week and a half later, it feels mildly bruised and a bit itchy. The second one will be due 2-5 months down the road. I just feel it is necessary for me. They wanted to do flu and T-dap at the same time, but I said "not all at the same time." So glad I told them no, this was enough discomfort. Suggest shot in non-dominant arm if you do get it. Great video.

Glad your enjoying yourself outside of the van, continue those adventures in any form. I haven't had the shingles shot, but I think for me it's not necessary as I never got the chicken pox as a child. The only way I can contract shingles is if I came in contact with someone who has it. At this point after covina I'm extremely cautious and careful around folk so 🤞🏼that I'm not at risk. Actually the only childhood ailments I contracted was the mumps and tonsillitis (they removed those 1967 when I was 4).

I had shingles too but it wasn't a tiny little rash. it ran from my left shoulder to the right side near my wast. had it for two weeks, not a fun time I can tell you!!There were times I was sure somebody was sticking me with a hot knife. 6 months or so after I got rid of it I got the shots and haven't had any trouble since.Up here the shot is free so what the hell nuts not to get it🙂

wow, your cruise looks so nice and peaceful. Between Ian and Nicole the Florida coast around Daytona is a mess. You must have just missed it. I have a weird rash on my leg. I think it is shingles or maybe a weird COVID rash. Your the first I've heard talk of shingles. I wish I had gotten the shot. No one ever talks about shingles. Anyways, I like your shirt and art. Keep being a happy person I rubs off on others.

@@BecomingBev I was at Orman yesterday and it looked horrible. The water was up to the road and white caps and today it looks normal like nothing happened. Ian was a bit scary. I was near the eye in Daytona. For five or six hours it was pretty much a white out of wind and rain. In Ormond beach gusts where read at 118 mph by people I've meet. So Daytona was probably the same or more. First hurricanes I've been in.

Bev, I suffer from psoriasis so I definitely had BOTH shingles vaccine shots. There was no ill effects whatsoever,. We have a good friend who had a bad outbreak of shingles and I NEVER want to be in that much pain. I think you should get the vaccine.

I took my shingles shot last February 2021. No side effects but a sore arm. I will take my shot again this coming February 2023. I had chicken pox in 1st grade and then again at the age of 26 and that one was really bad. I was told as a child that once you got chicken box that you would never get it again. That wasn't true, so I knew I needed the shingles shot because of that and I also saw my mother suffer from it so YES, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. It was very painful for my mother. I'm 56, just fyi.

Funny, I’m going in for my 2nd shingle shot today. I’ve had friends that had it and it’s no joke. Very painful with blisters and it lasted awhile. So, I don’t think you had shingles. I say go get it!

I've had shingles. I got it in my late 40s and would occasionally get painful flairs on and off for a few years. The day I turned 50, I got the first available shingles shot. I haven't had an issue since. There is a new one on the market that doctors ask if I want. I haven't gotten that one (I'm 59 now.), but would have if I hadn't gotten the original. I'd go for it since you haven't had any of them yet.

Wonderful! Really enjoy your varied adventures!🤗 I said no to the shingles shot. That’s just me…. I don’t do vaccines or pneumonia shots either.🤷🏻‍♀️ If you get on antivirals right away it really helps! I cried when the doc told me I had shingles…. Freaked him out a little!😂 After all the horror stories I was prepared for the worst! 😬 The antivirals did their job and I had an easy time. 🙌🏼
