Travel Smart. You don’t have to spend a fortune to travel the world.
Ойын-сауық
Someone one asked me if I won the lottery. How can you afford to travel like you do. I used to say I travel frugally, I changed that to say I travel smart. I’m sure there are many more travel tips, but here are the ones that I am aware of and use often.
In todays video I will share tips on how to travel less expensively.

Well hello to you… and thank you for your kind words.
Oh my! Great video. Your photos at the end are sooo beautiful. I have a couple of tips that I use: 1. if you have a Costco membership, use their car rental service. 2. Purchase flights as one-way. I use an app to find the best flight that suits me and then call the airline and book with them directly because I travel with my dog. If I was traveling alone, I would use my favorite app for booking. 3. I use a visa with Charles Schwab and save all those service fees.

Being flexible helps with volunteering seats with airlines. I use to do that so often back in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Like you said, if the airline announces that a particular flight is overbooked and is looking for volunteers to give up their seat the airline offered you a seat on the next flight AND a voucher for a monetary amount. I once travelled from PR to NYC. Because my original flight was so early in the morning I volunteered my seat several times and received vouchers for EVERY time I gave up my seat from that one trip alone. I did that with several trips. This works really well when the flights are close in time to each other and, of course, if you’re traveling alone or the person/ppl you’re with are willing to do the same. I haven’t done that in quite some time but I need to start doing that again. 😂. Bev, those trips you took look amazing. Btw, I also love that color on you.

Hi Terry❤️
Great video. You and I both travel similarly. Some of the places I have been are North Dakota, Kansas and Indiana. Maybe your places are a little nicer than mine LOL. You epitomize the saying that it is not how many years you live but the life in the years--WOW. Those are great tips although I stay in the good old U.S.A. Never been to Mexico and been to Canada twice illegally. I was in Britain once when I did a trip to the US Virgin Islands. I did a dive( scuba) on the shipwreck the Rone and that was in the British Virgin Islands. If you are old and a guy you have seen underwater footage of this wreck. The movie The Deep starring Jacqueline Bisset and some guy (Nick Nolte) was quite memorable. Hey Bev one tip I would be careful of in this day and age in our country is using public transportation like subways. Crime is so out of control that I would think twice on that one. The only tip I would add is look at other cities nearby. As an example a few years ago I had to do a presentation in Little Rock Arkansas. I called our travel person looking for a direct flight and was told no such thing. I had to go to Atlanta and do a layover and then fly to Little Rock, yuck. I asked about a direct flight to some city close to Little Rock. I could fly direct to Memphis and get a rental car and I think the drive was an hour and a half. I was getting a rental car anyway. Flight was cheaper too. One last example as I know this is long. My Son had to go to Colorado Springs for work. He flew in to Denver and then had a layover before flying to Colorado Springs. He called me when he got there and I asked him how the four minute flight to Colorado Springs was? Anyway great video and tips!!!
