The time has come - This project might take awhile to finish. There is a lot of testing and design that needs to happen before we are ready - but I'm glad you've joined us for the ride. The Flo Home X5 is HERE: bit.ly/flohomeevcs HUGE thanks to Flo for sponsoring this video and helping the welding room happen at the shop. It'll be fun to see this project materialize into much cheaper wheelchairs for people who need them.

This is what true influence should be like. Doing things for the world to actually help the world. Always have my respect. In a world where people use their influence for themselves it’s always refreshing to see content creators like yourself that actually doing something because you actually want to solve a problem for the love.
Just a small note about the welding room. Be careful of the light bounce off the light coloured walls and potentially causing arc eyes issues, since the light comes from the all sides. I think guys that weld inside of tanks or wagons can confirm. Perhaps if you find the guys having frequent issues, you can address it.

In Hungary I'm only eligible for a rigid frame manual wheelchair every 6 years and I either have to be in education, active employment, or raising a child to be eligible... so I've been sitting in mine for 10 (11?, was eligible for one when I was in Uni). I'm glad such initiatives exist to help people in a similarly bad situation. As for me, I better start taking dating seriously after 15 years, because my chances for that are better than for employment around here...

dont wanna be rude, but at least you can get "A" wheelchair for around 120-150eur without going through insurance, also in Slovakia you are eligible for a new wheelchair through insurance every 5 years, no matter the other factors you stated. Thanks Orban i guess???
@dominic.h.3363
Жыл бұрын
@@dubi127 I'm sure you mean indoor foldable wheelchairs, even second-hand. I run those to shit in 8 months, while the rigid frame chair I'm sitting in didn't require servicing in two years. Hungary gets these wheelchairs at MSRP, and there is simply no way that you can get an active, rigid frame, manual wheelchair for less than two thousand Euros from neither Ottobock, Meyra, Küschall, or any of the other manufacturers. They just cost this much, nobody is driving these prices up in Hungary after they've left the manufacturer. Orbán has nothing to do with this, both the time frame and conditions with which you are eligible to get a healthcare-funded wheelchair predate Orbán.
There is such a need for something like this. You are one of the smartest humblest people on KZread. My grandson is completely disabled and he's reached his size on what his chair is good for. This is a real need for people. You make your wife safe and proud, and you have been inspired from your life journey. I know the vision and where it comes from. Good job buddy.
This is entirely why Im going to school. been using a wheelchair ffor five years now and yeah there heckin expensive. One of my personal goals after university is too find ways to make electric wheelchairs more efficient not to mention cheaper. well done man, well done
I love how you always explain what you're doing and how everything works. Great videos!
Even through I don’t need a wheelchair and I don’t know anyone that does I just absolutely love that you are making them more affordable for people that do. You are a saint. That’s for making the world a better place.
I love how you are reusing the wood from the crates! I do the same thing. I even recycle wood that others leave on the side of the road for the city to haul away. There's so much waste in our society these days.

a lot of suff we make in our life will be barely seen or even barely used. While i think wanting the best for everything is human, there's a lot that can get by with good enough i felt like there's a lot of waste created just because it's not good enough when in reality people probably won't notice the difference

Zach been killing it lately! I think the work you guys are doing is gonna help so many people, huge respect. Can't wait to see how the shop turns out and see one of these bad boys being put together 👍🏻
Dude, I love this. Years ago I reached out to you because I built a wheelchair van myself because they had upcharges north of $30k over the base price of the vehicle. This year I purchased a new wheelchair for my son cash because the insurance would approve a new one but it was going to be 6-9 months to get it and his broke. I would love to be involved in testing and brainstorming wheelchairs for youths and you are welcome to use any of the equipment I have or stuff I have already troubleshot. We have a commercial lift in our van as well as commercial style locks that mimic what is used on a school bus. I know many parents around here that would also have great feedback. You guys are awesome and I will continue to support in the ways I can.
Thanks for the video. Reminded me of when we took over a company in CT, in an old warehouse, and we had to put in a large compressor for our machines. No place to put it but inside, and we did the insulation, and dry wall, and venting to the outside of the building - and it mostly worked. You were aware of the compressor running, but it was not deafening. People could put on headsets, or ear plugs, and listen to something else (except me) while working. I know that was not the focus of your video - it just brought back memories. The fact that you are doing this kind of great work is a lot more important. You have such a good heart. I've watched many of your videos now. I hope you, your wife, and family have a great holiday season.
Inspirational as always dude 👌 love how you're helping the community.
You're awesome to put so much effort into helping others.
Hey JerryRig. Am from Lusaka, Zambia Africa. And people here are creative, just like u but the only hard part is that nothing gets shipped here. And if he does it's very expensive. And for u I love how u take advantage of what u have .in getting everything u can think of and even making your own custom design. Please continue with what u do. U always inspire us.
You are doing amazing work as always! 🙏 Not only trying to help your wife but trying to help those that really can't afford stuff like this again you guys are doing amazing work!
Lots of respect to you for what you're trying to achieve man!!! Been your subscriber for a long time and you definitely don't fail to deliver good content and do good stuff. Hope to see the completed library soon and also the manufacturing of these wheelchairs. But also dying to know and get an update on the Electric Hummer. If my remember it correctly, I believe it was this exact same time last year when I would patiently wait for the updates on the Electric Hummer. Can we please have an update on it? Pretty please😅!!!
Love it! Sounds like it's all coming together. Two quick things, one portable ventilation unit is going to be needed especially with aluminum and titanium. Nasty stuff comes off those welds. Second, get the proper welding curtains that block UV light as well. Keep up the great work! Cheers, T
You are so incredibly smart. I love it that you are not very good at drywall and that’s at least one thing I could teach you a lot about instead of always learning things from you.
I love everything you’ve been doing. Not just destroying things for science, but also giving back.
Oh I love this! Having 1 leg that only bends about 10 degrees means that even a "standard" wheelchair is impossible to use comfortably and if you get the leg rests that adjust, well they are just so heavy and only fit on the heavy kind of mass produced chairs. I hope I will be able to put my name down to be a test subject to buy one of your first chairs when you are ready!
I like it when someone chooses to transform the world perpetually, so rare. Keep it going bro.
I cannot express how much I love and appreciate you being the good and the change you want to see in the world. Much respect.
7:06 notice that when the installer tries to fit the box he's disturbing the sealant he put around the cable, that's why you add blocking inside the wall first, so the cable is not flopping around and the sealant can do its job. And that earth cable, make a hook at the end so even if the screw comes loose the cable stays in place. We would sleeve it but you guys don't for some reason.
Need more people like you in this world.
Really excited about this; love to see you using your power for good.
I just cannot put into words on how much I love you all for making the world a better place. Thank you!
I hope you get to do everything you set out to do, such an inspiration and your passion shows. Keep it up

Ramsets are so cool. I used to use a modified one when I was ski patrolling to launch evacuation ropes over the top of lift lines when we the lift was out of operation and we needed to get people off.
I love how you do everything on your own good 👍 skills of you Jerry
