Solving the Health Care Crisis: T. Colin Campbell at TEDxCortland

For more than forty years, Dr. Campbell has been at the forefront of nutrition research. His legacy, The China Project, is the most comprehensive study of health and nutrition ever conducted. Dr. Campbell is the Jacob Gould Schurman Professor Emeritus of Nutritional Biochemistry at Cornell University. He has more than seventy grant-years of peer-reviewed research funding and authored more than 300 research papers and coauthor of the bestselling the book, The China Study: Startling Implications for Diet, Weight Loss and Long-term Health. Campbell has lectured extensively around the U.S. and beyond since the book's publication, especially in medical schools and professional venues. He is encouraged that so many primary care physicians, who often have little or no formal training in nutrition, are now enthusiastically embracing plant-based nutrition as the premier medical specialty, not just of disease prevention but for disease treatment and health maintenance.

T. Colin Campbell spoke at the first ever TEDxCortland, held November 9th, 2013, at Greek Peak Mountain Resort in Cortland, NY.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I recommend to read his book: The China study. Published in 2005, is full of details about how a proper nutrition could help to improve our health. This presentation summarize his main remarks from the book.

Great talk! I think people confuse veganism with what he is suggesting. In this nutritional diet plan, there is no "vegan" meats, vegan cream cheese, and so on. Vegan is not always equal to whole foods (not the store haha).

The 10-day treatment program's result(@ 22:00) would have been better if it included: fasting insulin (from before and after), HDL, body composition.

He is the author of the China Study, the largest nutritional study every done. You may not care for his message, but it came from that study and the remainder of his life's work. Even if you do not enjoy his message, listen to it. He is one of many sharing this message right now, and proving it is true.

The info that he sources about any us governmental studies is all attainable at different websites. Just to name a few: cdc.gov/nutrition, nal.usda.gov, www.foia.gov, and more. In case you weren't aware, through the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) as US citizens, we have the right to (most) unreleased information and documents controlled by the United States government. Which you can source for yourself to obtain these statistics and/or research a little bit deeper to help you draw your own conclusions.

Agreeing with Trinitro, dig a little deeper. He is not giving the US FDA diet, he is contesting it. You can learn a lot more about him and his work by reading "The China Study", or by going to nutritionstudies.org/about/board/dr-t-colin-campbell/ . Do as you will, many would rather contest than learn. If you want to learn, you can find more.
