Solo Winter Snow Storm Camping in a ROOF TOP TENT
Solo Winter Snow Storm Camping in a ROOF TOP TENT. I spent a night solo winter camping in my 4runner during a snow storm. The temperature got down to -6F (or -21C) when I last checked but no clue what it got to late at night. The snow just kept falling.
I will have a completely silent version of all my winter camping videos.

That’s the goal. I swear I sleep so good at the end of a day in the cold working hard but not worrying about the rest of the world and what’s happening.
Winter snow camping just looks so peaceful, looking forward to when it snows in the mountains of NC so I can do it myself! Also, was just watching another 4runner overlanding youtuber who camped out in a winter storm in a similar looking area, talking about passing another person in a campsite while he was driving down the trail at night, wonder if that was the same guy who passed by your site haha

I’m on the fence about the diesel heater or building a propex heater. It’s a ton more expensive but it uses way less fuel and electricity. I just hate getting diesel when I already have tons of propane.

Grass-Fed Ribeye steaks are the BEST! That looks so tasty and I believe I can smell it cooking. 😉! I hope you stayed warm enough in the extremely cold temps? I can't wait to get out with my 4Runner in the Cascades. We have 3' of snow at home so it will be a challenge to go any higher up in the mountains, LOL.
@OXFOOT

Yeah I typically can’t climb too high in the mtns in fall/winter. Like right now I’m usually not driving too far into the woods to get to a camp site, but I usually don’t have to because most people aren’t out camping so I can grab one of the close spots.
@debbilermond1553

@@OXFOOT That's awesome! Have you ever tried bar-b-qued ribeye for homemade chili? I usually add bison because it's always grass-fed (they can't eat grain). The absolute best chili fixins is from Carroll Shelby's Original Texas Chili Kit (most stores have it). You will think you died and went to Heaven, LOL! 😁

I’m personally going with Locked offroad in a month or so. I like what they have but it really depends on your budget and what kind of offroading you are looking to be doing.
Which do you think is better for winter camping, diesel heater or negative sleeping bag? Been on the fence since having warm air seems like the more comfortable solution. Keep the videos up!!
@OXFOOT
Жыл бұрын
If you live somewhere that it gets pretty cold I would 100% go negative sleeping bag over any sort of heating source if you can only choose one. A heater can break or fail but a sleeping bag only fails if you get it wet or something. If the heater fails and you don’t have a negative sleeping bag you really put yourself at risk. A heater is nice but I went years without a heater and was fine.

@OXFOOT

Maybe in other towns but I think because there are so many here I don’t see it that often. If I’m up in the mountains and not many are around and two built ones pass then sometimes you’ll get a wave. Not that common though.
