Hey yogis, I'm continuing my Yin Yoga Chakra Series with a Solar Plexus Chakra Yin Yoga class! The solar plexus chakra is all about confidence, self-esteem, self-worth and desirability. The intention behind this sequence is to help you find balance between confidence and humility.
If you've done my chakra classes before you know that I like to use affirmations to help you highlight any areas that may be wounded or need some work. While in the pose, simply listen to the affirmation and repeat it back a few times to see how it makes you feel.
What is Yin Yoga? Yin yoga is often called the Yoga of the joints because unlike other styles of yoga, the emphasis is not on the muscles but on the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surround and form your joints. Yin yoga improves the range of motion in your joints and also strengthens them. The results and benefits are more flexibility and greater range of motion and also more stability within your joints.
There are 3 principles of Yin Yoga.
1. Find your edge
2. Be still
3. Hold the pose
Find your edge means respecting your body's limits and not pushing too far and risking injury. Pull back a little bit and as you hold the pose you will be able to go deeper into it without pushing too far or hurting yourself.
Being still means that once you are in the pose it is important to completely relax your muscles so the benefits can get into the connective tissues and joints. Try not to fidget or move or distract yourself, this is a meditative practice. Breathe deeply in and out through the nose.
Holding the pose means that in Yin Yoga a pose can be held for 1-10 minutes depending on the pose performed and on the comfort level of the student.

    I don't usually cry while dooing yoga but that first affirmation got to me. I gess I 'll be working on that for a bit. Thank you for pointing in the direction I need to attend a little more.

    This was truly the best part of my day. I really identified with the visualization of the color yellow; also just noticing how I react to the affirmations . Your series is so helpful to me. On a side note . In square pose my cat came over and sat on my inner knee and added the perfect gentle assist. It was truly magic happening in my life. Namaste

    I Really LOVE ALL your yoga sessions, but I Want , but don't feel I Can , because I'm staying with someone who is Constantly criticizing ( and it hurts my feelings because she adapted me but doesn't want me as her daughter ) me, so I turn it down during the OM part , and feel like I'm shorting myself . God , I pray for my own place , so I can be free to be the yogini that I am.Sorry Kassandra, I wrote you a book. LOVE you girlfriend!😘😘💖

    Every week I have been working through each of your chakra affirmations yin (starting with the root chakra and then each day do the next one, sacral, solar plexus, heart, and then finishing the week with throat chakra). I am finding these to be such a useful tool alleviating anxiety, and managing PTSD symptoms.. thank you so much for helping me feel more at home in my body and comfortable <3 So much love

    I was hesitant to click onto this one as I am newer to the practice and usually stick to your classes that are 20 min and shorter, but I am so glad I tried this one out! I loved that you included a meditation and affirmations for each pose--it made it such a comprehensive and healing session that didn't just focus on moving your body in a certain way. This took my Sunday morning to a whole other level! You have a such a calming and sweet presence that really shines through when you're teaching yin. I'm genuinely grateful for your videos, as you're the one who introduced me to the practice! 💗

    I do yoga with you almost every morning as I heal from chronic muscle tension. This program was more moving for me, maybe due to the affirmations.     Doing a 7 day journey through the chakras doing these yin practices and then vin practices with another you tuber. Finding the affirmations so helpful in exploring the chakra. This one was a toughie for me and actually feel a bit nauseous now but I think it’s my chakra trying to tell me it’s not so good... Thank you for the practice. Really helping me learn what I need to heal

    While I opened my solar plexus chakra awhile ago with this practice (feeling intense heat in the torso afterwards), I've noticed just how tight my side back muscles are, or the latissimus dorsi. Lately, I've been following the liver meridian routine for releasing anger, as well as your root chakra yin. I suppose all that work has unlocked my side body, and I can feel it now. With all that said, I really enjoyed doing this routine again after so long.

    so thankful for all your videos, Kassandra! I love that you have options for varying lengths (these 30 mins are often make me feel so good that sometimes I just go and do a second or another shorter one haha.) i really liked how affirmations felt balanced both in taking care of yourself (confidence) and taking care of others (humility). your teaching really radiates in positive ways and just wanted to say thank you!

    I def prefer these sessions w/ background music / noise. As I’m holding some tough poses, I found myself asking “are we almost done?!?” - I kept looking at the video to ensure it was still playing. 😁

    Chose your class to do as one of my rituals to day at the 22022022. The affirmations where so lovley. Most of them felt like affirming how I feel. But one does not reflect up on it. So it was loveley to feel safe in most of them. The ones I need to work on is "I have the right to bee seen and heard", and "I am empowered and I empower others". That last brought clarity to what direction I need to go the comming years. So thanks a lot for a great session <3 <3 <3 Namaste, and the best 22.02.2022 to you too <3

    Thank you for guidance, Kassandra. I had a moment of enlightenment while doing the extended-leg on the left side with the affirmation "I am comfortable standing up for myself." I found that I resonated with that statement and recognized it as true, even though I feel like I struggle in that area. After sitting with the feeling and exploring it further, I realized that I am comfortable with the idea and internal makeup needed to stand up for myself, but, due to the newness of this for me, I just struggle to find the words to express to others what I want to get across. During the pose, though, some words just came to me to support the high raise I've been wanting to advocate for at my workplace!
