So Much Better! Aikon DJI FPV Prop Adapters + Nazgul Props

As most DJI FPV pilots already know the props that come with the drone are not the best. In this video we go through the installation of the Aikon Electronics props adapters for the DJI FPV drone. Installing these adapters will allow you to use most traditional 5" FPV props. After using the adapters with a number of different props I personally like the Nazgul props (link below). With these props there was no washout on recovery, motors were not hot after flights in manual mode, top speed was around 80-82mph. If you have already installed these prop adapters please post in the comments section what your favorite props are and the flight characteristics of each.
Perform this modification at your own risk, I recommend the use of blue Loctite to keep the screws from backing out, check the tightness of the screws on the adapter after a few flights to ensure they haven't loosened up.

    I fly regular FPV Quads and was exited to try these adapters but was disappointed in the results. I to like the Nazgul Props and the Ethex S5 and S4 props. I found that the punchout was not as strong as the DJI Stock Props and there was no noticeable difference in prop wash. The motor temps were also higher with the non DJI Props. For me I switched back to the DJI Props because I like the quick removal to put it in the bag. I do see the cost advantage if you are starting out in FPV and crashing the Nazgul are much cheaper. 🍍

    I recently bought a few sets of the Spitfire's they are on the drone now, they are very comparable to the Nazgul 5140's Didn't notice a huge difference between the two, I got speeds in the Mid 80's on the Spitfire and low 80's on the Nazgul. Handling feels about the same both excellent props.

    I've got two DJI FPV Drones and had the direct comparission between original and Aikon (but with GEMFAN Hurricane 5236) and they are much much better, the drone flies more stable, faster and is not as loud as with the original props. Funny i got the same electric screwdriver, its from Banggoood right? But with the Loctite you have to be sooo careful...if you use too much, you will never again be able to open the screw again.

    On the DJI FPV drone with the V2 goggles I use the standard antennas. Increase the power to the highest mw available in your area. I use the V1 goggles for most of my traditional FPV drones and use the iFlight Crystal system on those, range is crazy good with that system. Do not use that system on the V2 goggles though, they are not dual band compatible. iFlight Crystal Patch: amzn.to/3nMrV8D iFlight Stubbies: amzn.to/30W9cPv

    @@AerialPixel Thank you for replying , I have just got some prop adapters for my DJI FPV drone and some blue medrm locktite thread locker. I asked on a DJI FPV drone group on Facebook if I should use threadlocker but the response I got from most people was it maybe risky as there is plastic in the motor holes and some may fall into the motors, I feel the prop adapters will need thread locker. What's your opinion on this? Thank you 🙏🙏

  • @AerialPixel

    @AerialPixel

    3 ай бұрын

    I'm not sure where they are getting that there is plastic in the motor holes, perhaps they aren't familiar with the Aikon prop adapter install. The black plastic ring on the motors is removed leaving only the aluminum motor bell. Any metal-to-metal screwed connection should use thread locker. I would recommend applying the thread lock to the screws and allowing it to air dry before installing them.

It's obviously not a good idea to loiter over a neighbors property as you could get into privacy issues at that point. If you stop and think about it using your logic you wouldn't be able to fly anywhere as someone owns all the property you fly over whether it be a private or public entity.
