If you're not flying with a GoPro, note there is some vignetting at the edges of the stabilized image with the plastic protector on, also when it's really hot the image can get light flares at times, probably from the curved plastic design. I like the color set you chose to put on the drone. Very reminiscent of the Gulf Oil livery of the 1960's - Ford used it a lot and it is Uber-classy for the FPV.

Curious …without that lens shield do you still get better glide ratio? The tail fins confuse me because they would theoretically affect the yaw and not pitch of the craft but I guess with the airflow over the arms as well…I dunno. Wanna try it for sure.

Would the tail fins put resistance when you bank hard? I would think they would help to keep it straight but turning would be a problem

Anyways I just upgraded to the air 2s and I love it but i do wanna get into some fpv. whats your hones thoughts on buying the dji fpv for a first time fpv flyer? Is it easy to get the hang of with the simulator but still pretty easy to crash? im torn between a cinewhoop and the dji fpv. not really into acro so i think those 2 types of drones are gonna be the best choices for me! i know u are probably a busy man but any feedback at all is greatly appreciated! It’s not only the wings, the gimbal guard also improves the aerodynamics. The air flows under and over the drone. Without the gimbal guard, the air is just hitting the front of the drone causing drag.

Love your channel man.. very entertaining. LOL.. I purchased the small rig kit, installed and love the twin vertical stabilizers. Gives the drone an aggressive stance. May even assist in flight stability. The clear front shield may be a problem depending on your locations climate. The open area around the camera allows air to enter the drone and circulate air into the fan located at the top of the drone under the plastic housing. This keeps your chips cool and also allows air to flow out the back of the drone to then cool your ESC vents on the back. The opening above the camera which looks like air vents are not functional and are not open. If it were open, it would allow air to bypass the clear canopy from smallrig and enter the drone. I live in Vegas where it's 110 degrees during the summer and 90 degrees at night so I need as much air flow as possible to keep the drone somewhat cool. However, I do like how it looks. You should buy the motor adapters that allow you to use any 5" prop. I love trying different props and seeing how it affects the performance of my DJI FPV Drone.

I live in El Paso tx and I had a motor fail and take an arm with it. Due to esc overheat while using it with an insta 360. I did a vid. Although it only cost me $50 to repair it could have gone much worse. So I don't recommend it for high altitudes and deserts

@@SgtJamesRay Good advise. I recently took a spill/crashed due to a prop blade breaking off mid flight. Never had that happen before. Not sure what caused that. Could have been an air bubble in the injection mold of the prop or some one shot it down with a BB or Pellet gun. Odd, been flying with the same prop for 2 months then that happened. Broke 3 arms, cracked the top shell which broke the cooling fan and the metal shield covering the fan. Cost me about $100 or so to repair. I’m back up again with my fingers crossed…😬

Hey man, you're right. That's incredible that the air vent isn't real, I did not know. How did you find out? I mean it's probably for a reason, maybe still due to aerodynamics bc it would maybe force the air stream in the wrong direction if it would really go through the top vent instead through the backside of the camera, still thx for your tip.

I know on the switch that you push it down one time and it goes into sport mode but I heard in sport mode there's three modes can you explain how do you set that up.

Does does wings (fings) come with larger screws?

I wonder if it causes Drag when the drone turns or goes on the side while flying. I painted mines. It looks like a military drone. It looks hot. I believe it is causing drag because it glides with them on.

I’ve been an experienced phantom pilot for the last seven years I took the plunge and I bought my rig the FPV it’s been raining all week so I haven’t been able to fly the actual drone I’ve been running simulator on normal and sport mode

The arms of the DJI FPV are technically wings somehow and already provide some lift. The vertical fins might prevent some pressure equalization between the upper and down side of the rear arms and make them more effective as a wing. That's the only explanation I can imagine.

Question... how much battery time does the weight of a GOPRO take up? Thank you

normal flight time of the FPV is about 20 min so i am guessing it could be cut in half, maybe a little less when adding a GOPRO

I put a go pro on my DJI fpv and the added weight was too much for the drone. It literally got the motor so hot They melted right out of the craft and my drone dropped like a rock so if you going to add a cam make sure it’s lite

Dude.. for the "vertical fins" to have a noticeable effect, they would have to be like 3 times bigger. I would bet you anything, if you threw that quad in a Aerodynamic simulator, there would be almost zero difference between the two. Also, the shape of the quad body is a teardrop which is naturally a stable shape.. this is a total joke. Also, alot of the "stabilization" you were feeling low to the ground was just the camera protector completing the tear drop shape

I thing their is a little bit of effect on his yaw, but like gliding. Nope. That’s the prop spinning from falling which is making the drone a lil bit feeling like gliding. But I like it still, I’ll get me one for my djiFPV (looks cooler anyways)😁😉

Nope 😐 Filters don't fit with the front cover on, for some reason filter companies made the ND filters very wide 🤷

Hey buddy, have you ever heard of the eachine novice 4 fpv drone? I just purchased it to dip my toes into fpv I own a mavic Air 2 and a spark both from DJI and a couple cheap drones my question is when flying fpv should I fly without goggles at first or jump right in with goggles it’s tough with goggles

That's a tough question, I know a lot of people can fly without goggles but me, I can't fly without goggles because I've never done it before. Basically we will get good at what we practice at and if we practice without goggles we will get good without goggles but if you practice with the goggles you'll get good with the goggles without goggles you can't go very far and it's very difficult to tell which direction the Drone is pointing in so take that into consideration. I've never heard of that type of drone, why did you go with that one? 🤔 Thanks for sharing

I bought the novice 4 to get back into fpv. It is a awesome kit. Definitely order a set of arms though.

I know I’m catching up here. Unfortunately the Small Rig package shows discontinued. Unfortunate too, I’m about to buy the DJI FPV.

how many grams can lift the dji fpv? I have a go pro max (163grams), I want to use the 360 mode (GoPro max) in sport mode (dji fpv). By the way can you do a video tutorial cleaning drones. can the aux light be turned off and on during flight. I noticed mine only comes on when about 15' off the ground and appears to be used for landing. Would be great to be able to turn it on at will to locate drone in the sky.

None of those two I would recommend! If your 12-year-old is interested in flying camera drones, start with a mavic mini, if they are interested in fpv drones start with something like a tinyhawk. I hope this helps. Happy Buying and Flying 😎
