Sohyang is a forty one year old protestant Christian Contemporary Music (CCM)/Gospel singer from South Korea. She has been singing her ass off for more than 20 years now, mostly in churches and Christian benefits. She sings for God, not for fame or glory/money, which is a reason she is not known a lot outside of South Korea (many local and international companies tried to sign her, but she refused). According to her, her goal as regards to singing is to comfort and console people passing difficult times. A devout Christian and a cancer survivor (she lost as a 20 year old newlywed the ability to have children due to cervical cancer), Sohyang is considered by some to be one of the best vocalists in Asia, and from time to time she enters singing competitions in Korea where she impresses with her voice and stage presence, re-arranging known songs and covering them live. She is really a very inspiring artist and person, and over the years she has made a lot of pretty incredible performances, each and every one a sight to behold. Yes, what you felt about her in your reaction was correct. She is a genuine, honest character that gives her everything when performing, and this tends to come through rather fast to most people. If you want to see more from her, here are a couple of suggestions: 1. "Bridge over troubled water" - This one is special, since it is a song that is closer to Sohyangs' gospel roots. As you will find out, Sohyang can also sing beautifully in English, which is not her native language. This is an old, emotional ballad from Simon and Garfunkel, and her re-arrangement and live performance of it provides a pretty strong experience for both the audience and the listener. She is Southkorea CCM singer and cancer survivor. .she is one of the best vocalist in the world. .but not well-known. . She sing for god & comfort people. . not for fame or money. . she so beautiful woman even inner side. . I love her bcz she always singing with all of her own energy. .and I can feel it in her face. . She is not human. . Just Angel gift from god for comfort people. . ♥♥

The violinist is Sue Son who appeared on Britains Got Talent 2009.

Welcome to So Hyang's world. :) So Hyang isn't well known because she is a South Korean gospel singer but she is one of the best vocalists in the world, she was rated star by Critic of Music alongside Whitney. This is just one of her masterpieces. Wonderful reaction. Sohyang's voice can sooth the mind and calm the soul, but it can switch on a dime to stir your emotion and overwhelm your senses. Most importantly, you said it. It touches the heart. Technically speaking, she is probably the best you can find in the world with her power, stamina and control. You are very observant.
