Nice!
The deal breakers for me are -: No FreeSync support and "screen door effect" on the display.
Just picked one up and it's a damn good laptop.
Excellent review

Fourth. You've gained a new subscriber.
Excelent review for me the deal breaker is the 32 gbs and, why not use the new zenbook features like 13 and 15. but oh well
what resolution were you testing witcher 3 on? I mean it's pretty amazing result to get 54 fps out of this iGPU
This is exactly why OLED + touch screen is a complete non-starter for me. The screen door effect completely ruins the quality of the screen. I don't understand why so many manufacturers are putting touch screens on OLED panels that are marketed to creators. 100% color accuracy doesn't mean anything if there's a visible patchwork of wires in front of it. These days: if you want an OLED screen make sure it's non-touch. If you must have touch, get mini-LED or even old-school IPS rather than OLED

how do oled phone displays work then? Why we don’t see such effect on phones with oled touchscreen screens. I think it’s possible to do the same with laptops but more expensive

But is mini-LED somehow better in this area? I wanted to go with ASUS ROG Flow X16 GV601VU but it also has a touch screen. Mini LED doesn't have this screen door effect?
Hi, is goog for programing and casual gaming??
where do you find the non-touch model though????????????????????????????????
Who has a link for the the non-touch model please?
Question...how silent is when plugged in and running office apps - word/excel pdf files, lots of chrome tabs etc.? So, not in performance mode, but in ballanced? Do you hear the fans in an annoying way? Thx!
what about intel i7 , 1250p (12th gen) ?
Hey Buddy, how long before the E16 review goes up. I’m counting on you before I pull the trigger on it. Thanks

Going to work on it hopefully for tomorrow or the next day. Sorry swamped.
Kind of weird how the vivobook 15 with the same resolution doesnt have the screen door even with lower dpi
Im on 13 Zenbook 13 um5302. I never noticed the screen door affect. I think I see it, although im not very sure. I don't see it at all really. And im wondering if it is worse on the 14 Zenbook compared to my version. I want to upgrade to this because the 90hz, better battery. Wish was 13 inch, I like small laptop. I think mine has screen door, like I've thought about it before but looked past it, and now way to used to it .

I think some people are sensitive to that but some people are not. Actually, a lot of laptops with touch screen does have effect. I didn't notice that in the past, but somehow, I have tried a bunch of touch-screen laptops in the past few years, and all have this screen door effect, which is driving me crazy. You can solve this problem by simply going for a non-touch screen, and after so many of having touchscreen in my laptop, I don't ever think it is necessary at all. Touchscreen only matters if you want to do some creative works on your laptop like drawing.
Oof, this laptop really looks good on paper for what I'm looking to buy, but that screen door effect you mentioned just tutned me off. Is it just the touchscreen version?

ASUS non touch oleds are the way to go. No screen door. I would highly Recommend the non touch variant of this exact laptop

Have the same model can’t even notice it from the average distant you’d be looking at it from unless you use it with a 20-25cm gap in between you and the laptop I don’t think you’ll mind

How does this laptop compare with the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 Laptop (14ARP8) ? I'm looking to use for art/creation/business with occasional gaming.

It doesn’t really. The yoga 7 pro is much better (I have a review of that coming, it’s already recorded)

What's the best Asus for work in Adobe WITHOUT a touch screen? This screen door effect is ruining perfectly good machine :///
I have the non-touch screen version and the screen is perfect. It's a samsung panel and I do not see any screen door effects,

Which is better in terms of longevity, battery and performance. Zenbook 14 OLED (AMD Ryzen 5 7530U or Ryzen 7 7730U ) or 14x ( I5-13500H or i7-13700H)

Amd but the 7030 zen 3 is much weaker than intel 13th gen H series so that depends Intel: latest technology, faster performance, shorter battery life Amd: rebranded 5600u and 5800u which is a 2 years old technology, slower performance, longer battery life For reference, 13700h is up to 80% faster than 7730u 13500h us up to 50% faster than 7530u (but the 13500h and 13700h seems to have limited tdp, maybe 25w on this ultrabook so expect slower performance compared to 45w on gaming laptop)

@@MTN1601 power efficiency. you are not really comparing apples to apples since I doubt anyone would run intel on max power consumption qs fan would be jet engine. so in my mind the real question is how intel would perform at the similar level of watt consumption which yields comfortable fan noise (
i have exactly the same laptop but it does not have touch !!
