you are right , this is also not cheap but compared to what the market offers I am really happy they were able to pull this off , this will force the companies both on technical side and price

I currently own, and use daily, a Supernote A5x and love it, however I have been looking into something like this to replace it with. I want to read more, specifically graphic novels and comics, but I also take a LOT of notes. Something like this might be a good fit rather than getting a smaller color e-reader to be a companion device to the Supernote.

Been contemplating getting this one or the Tab Mini C, curious to see how it plays Match 3 games (Bejeweled, Candy Crush, Puzzle Dragon) and Wordsearch games. I know its not intended for gaming, but with it having Android, would be cool to be able to read and maybe play a few rounds of Candy crush here and there.

The trade off between gray background (without artificial device light) and color must be evaluated by each person, the washed out colors may be of less importance. I think in a couple of generations the e-paper LCD or eink will have acceptable colors, speed and white background. Until then I’ll stay with my black and white.

Thank you for the great video. I have many journals i want to consolidate into 1 E-ink tablet. My question for you is: Have you tried the Remarkable2 Tablet, and how would the handwriting feel between these 2 devices compare? The Handwriting experience is the "biggest" issue for me. Thank You.

hello , did not get the chance to try remarkable , but tested kindle scribe / apple pen and pen 2 / samsung pen , just released now a clip on the pen and why I think is the best I got to try so far , Remarkable is nice but you dont have color and also is a close system , here you have android so is easy to install a lot of apps if you need something and more developers can provide software here and updates as compared to remarkable , I dont think writing experience can be better than this , but even if it would be this would still be my choice because of Android

The smartphone / tablet version of Kindle app works on it exactly like on a regular tablet / phone , so yes you can read any book you have bought or part of your subscription

I am sure you can do that for third party apps , but not sure if you can do it for the buit in notes , but I think they already had a cloud service for notes backup , I can not test anything any longer because I had to send it back , it was a review unit

You device woke up as soon as you touched the power button. On mine I have to press and hold the button for a couple of seconds, and then wait for a few more seconds until it wakes up. Is there a setting to speed up the waking up? My cover also isn't waking it up.

I think I deactivated a deep sleep mode , but this will consume more power on the long run

I just ordered a Supernote because I heard the battery life is really poor on the Note Air 3 C. Is that correct? How long do you get out of a full charge ?

depends how you use it , I got around one week out of mine , there are different power saving profiles , if you want better standby time the tablet can go in a deep sleep when not in use so battery will last longer , if you want a very fast response when pressing the power button , then the battery life will be shorter , the difference in battery life compared to other eink devices comes from the power of this tablet because if running full android and you can install all kind of apps and have notifications exactly as on your phone , a Kindle for exemple is much much more limited outside of books and taking notes (kindle scribe) , even reading a PDF on kindle can be a nightmare (if you need to zoom etc) , on this one you can even game and browse the internet , if your goal is only notes I think this indeed is not the best device out-there for battery life , for me I like eInk display so much that I want to do more on this kind of screen , not only notes

just saw that super note does not have a front light ? this would be a big no for me , 80% of the time I use front light on all the eink devices , if you are having a lof of light around you when you use the device it should not be a problem tough

​@@chrishamilton1189 yes , this sounds about right , I didn't really focus on it as I knew this is very similar to a phone or a traditional tablet , charged it twice in the 3 weeks that I got it for testing , but did not manage to use it as much as I would have liked to because of some travel I had to do on personal reasons , I hope I get to still use it this week and I will try to do some proper testing on battery life as well , I think there are some scenarios that will directly influence this , if you leave the device on all the time with notifications enabled and you also use front light I would expect the shortest battery life , and on the other side you don't use apps notifications , and reduce backlight as much as possible and let the device go into deep sleep when not using , this should get best battery life , I did not care so much because the tablet was charging fast enough in my testing , but I get it , I love the battery life on Kindle Scribe , I mostly have to charge it once a month even if I use frontlight , but no apps , no speakers , no color , no SD card

I have the Air 3 black and white and it’s fantastic. They also just released the Go series with no front light if that’s what you like. Supernote it’s mostly for writing. When it comes to reading and third-party app support Boox is better.

I have a question; who need this? If you just want to write "notes", post-it will do most of the time, or you can have a laptop for the same price. Journaling? You might not want to upload your personal life to a server. Reading? It's kind of expensive for that. So, who do you think would really need this?

have you seen in real life an eink display ? is exacly like printed paper , I always use a device with eink screen when I want to read , and is easy to have my conplete library with me , for me is much more confortable than a real book , because I prefer really large fonts so that my eyes don't have to focus on the small fonts in regular book , also much easier to turn pages , take notes , reading while lying in bed , reading before goong to sleep , also I really like digital note taking because of how easy you can correct stuff , I am a bit of a perfectionist and I hate when I do a mistake , but I agree this is not a cheap device , mainly because this is really the edge of what is now possible , I expect that in a few years time this will be more affordable and easier for people to try and justify , for me is simply a joy to use something like this 😄

also if you read books that are not in your native language , you can simply tap a word and you get the translation , this is also something that take much more time with a real book

A person who takes a ton of handwritten notes for work or school and can’t keep track of all the paper. Those people exist. I’m one of them.

This screen is not meant unfortunetly for video , so youtube experience is very poor , it does not heat but is not at all enjoyable
