Snowsport + AWD = PLOWING MACHINE! | Can a Car Actually PLOW SNOW?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

✅ THIS SNOW PLOW COULD BE ONE YOUR BEST PURCHASES! Links below to BUY the plow! Plow in warm comfort without breaking a sweat. It is made of aluminum. It has a rubber blade that won't scrap down to the cement, but it does a great job. It also will not tear up your lawn. This plow is amazing and has served us well for 10 years! Plow your driveway. Plow your yard. You could probably even plow commercially in places. There is no hydraulics or electrical to ever go bad. It is simple and works. They are reasonably priced and they can last forever. We regularly plow out neighbors and friends and family. The ease of use, peace of mind and snow relief this plow has provided over the years is unbelievable. I have no doubt we will be using this plow for 20 more years. It is made by agricover.com and is sold under different names. Plow sport is the most widely sold name. We recommend the HD model. The HD has snow scoops which are amazing. We never turn the plow left or right, the scoops hold everything in very well, and its not worth getting out of the car to turn the plow. We just pull the pins, drop the plow and go. I have plowed with every plow style and manufacturer there is on everything with wheels and tracks. I have plowed privately and commercially. This plow is the last one I will ever own.
***The plow is available on ebay, there are some on amazon and you can also go to the manufacturer agricover.com. Please buy on amazon if you can find the plow you like, It helps out the channel a ton. For some reason there isn't great selection on amazon right now. Ebay is where we purchased ours years ago. It was a good experience. The plow came via UPS in three large boxes. Assembly of the plow takes about 3 hours on your first try. The second time around it could be done in 1/2, its super easy!

    Yesterday we had some severe winds up here at 10,000 feet elevation in the Rocky Mountains. The wind made snow dunes on my property. Sometimes the sun, wind and wet snow combine to really pack the snow and I'm worried that the Snowsport might not be able to move this cement combination. Have you experience densely packed snow where you live and is the Snowsport really able to move it or does it tend to ride on top of packed snow as some have claimed? I'll be waiting on you response before pushing the buy button on my order, literally. Thanks! Did you get the 7' or 8' blade?

    I have the 7ft hd plow. It works best for me between our vehicles. We have a subaru and a full size yukon xl. The hd is a must, they have the side scoops which work surprising good and help push a lot of snow. As far as hard snow we get all consistency types where we live also. We get a lot of heavy wet snow. I am confident it will push ALL types of fresh snowfall you get. It will not scrape as good as a metal blade on old snowfall though. I call old snow stuff that is more than a 3/4 days old and has been driven on. It will take a couple tries to get it all. Any new snow it will pick it up just fine. Some weird heavy wet snows will require a couple passes to pick it all up if it is heavy enough. That is just because it doesn't scrape as good. But once the plow starts to move the snow it will have no problem pushing i😀🔧

    We live in MN and thinking of getting this to use on our 2020 Crosstrek. We are reluctant because our driveway is sloped, about 30-40 degrees. We are worried about something breaking or hurting the car when getting to the bottom of the hill while continuing onto street level which is flat (bottoming out). Sometimes if we drive in and out of our driveway, we can nip the bottom of our car bumpers if we aren’t careful. Is there something we aren’t understanding about the technology that would prevent damaging the car?

  • @EasyFixShaun

    @EasyFixShaun

    3 жыл бұрын

    It would be awesome on the Crosstrek. The plow will slide all the way up to the pins at the top to compensate for elevation. Mine never goes that high except when I plow snow banks up really high. On the Subaru I can make 4-5 footers if we have a lot of snow. On my Suburban I can make 6-7 foot tall banks on occasion if there is a lot of snow. I don't think the plow would cause any issue on your driveway transition. It sounds like it is a very steep and unique driveway. The plow will go higher than the bottom of your bumper. It will go about as high as the top of your bumper actually. Plus the rubber blade will flex when it hits anything. I don't see any reason it would get hung up and not work. How do you clear the snow currently?

  • @scottjkern
    @scottjkern5 жыл бұрын

    No I did not notice it that the plow was pushing upwards they're supposed to automatically go up I have seen the videos on the actual site where they can sell them this plow is very very interesting to watch all videos wow it kind of scares me when you back up and or vice versa with this setup go forward Anna plows dragging but there is a gap underneath when you go in reverse so you're not actually pulling more snow with you

  • @EasyFixShaun

    They work really well, as good as a conventional plow. The main difference is rubber blade vs steel blade. The rubber will not peel up grass or sod. It also plows really well on pavement. But it will leave a 1/2" of snow. It is insignificant for the most part. Worst case senario if a section of driveway is being stubborn with thick or heavy snow, just go over it twice. That happens once in a while. They are light and more simple with no hydraulics to break. You aren't "married to a plow truck", it will easily swap onto any vehicle with a hitch that you want to use it on. It is probably a 20 year+ investment right, might even last a lifetime! That is saying something. I have had mine 7 years already and so far have had zero issues. I will probably replace the blade in 5 years or so. New blade is 200-300 bucks Last time I checked. I plow my front driveway and back yard, two neighbors and some other driveways on occasion. I use it a lot! Everything works great. Beats snowplowing because you cab listen to music or podcasts in comfort of a heated vehicle. We get some colddddd days where I live. And it is 20X faster than snow blowing.

    Thank you for this video. This video has motivated me to go out and buy one of these bad boys for winter. I am buying a used one for my ram 1500 for $650 - includes blade assembled along with the frame that mounts the blade (i think its a good deal, but would like your opinion on what i need to check for). My question to you: In Part one, you mentioned you would not recommend using it with a rear receiver. This video shows how it works in a rear receiving position (and i thought it worked fantastically well). Did you notice any issues in the long run or do you have comments when using this blade with a rear receiver. thanks

  • @EasyFixShaun

    @EasyFixShaun

    4 жыл бұрын

    Hey no problem it was a fun video to make! On the used blade, as long as it looks good the only wear factor is the rubber blade. It is most likely good and the price seems great. I would recommend plowing from the front just so you can see better like a traditional plow. Sometimes, well almost always I am trying to push my snow piles high. I have to sightly ram the snowbank and time it when I arrive to the bank with snow. I don't have a lot of room at my house so i like my piles of snow as high as possible. I can make them easily 6 to 7 feet high with the right conditions. If it were on the rear it would be much harder to do that. It would be much easier to damage something or hit something also. You just can not see the plow and avoid obstacles in the rear as good as you can in the front. It can be done in the rear. This is just my personal opinion. I wouldn't waste my time plowing in the rear if there is a front hitch option for your plow vehicle. The front hitch is usually 200 bucks. It really is worth it to me to have it up front. I have plowed with pretty much every plow ever made commercially. This little plow is amazing and all I would ever want. It works nearly perfect, Its cheap, and It should last 20 years no problem. But plowing front the front will save a lot of headache down the road you. Either way will work though!

  • @EasyFixShaun

    @EasyFixShaun

    2 жыл бұрын

    The dips are no problem. I would not plow over stumps personally. You could do it because the blade is rubber and will bend. But i would avoid it if it were me. Its not worth the damage and a hand shovel would be the much better tool suited for that job. I guess in short, the plow will react to stumps like any plow in general but better. It will deflect the rubber blade and likely hop over it. If that happened a couple times a year its probably not a bug deal. I would never continue plowing the area with stumps though. Damage would likely occur eventually to the rubber blade and then the plow wouldn't be as effective to the rest of the area you are plowing until you replace the blade. Dont do it 😀🔧

    I forgot to mention mine is over 10 years old. It plows great. In the next 5 years or so I would like to replace the blade. But it doesn't need it. Just would freshen it up. this plow should last another 2 decades easily 😃

    You are correct! Snow sport HD 7 foot plow is what I have and use on all my vehicles. I would always recommend getting the HD plow, it has side scoops. They are massively effective. The plows are made by agricover.com I put some links in the description for them from amazon if you want to help out my channel and purchase there. I have also seen quite a few on craigslist over the last few years for very reasonable prices. In the spring they are cheap. Good luck. However you get it, I hope you love it. We love ours 😀

    Works fantastic. The only thing that would be better is plowing from the front of the vehicle. If at all possible that will always be the best way. Subarus don't have any front hitch options unless you go a long way out of your way to fabricate something. So on a Subbie the best bet is to be careful and do it from the rear. It works great. There is just added risk of hitting something plowing backwards vs forwards like a traditional plow. I normally plow with our suburban on the front. That works the best because its on front. Otherwise either vehicle works awesome.😃

    That would be cool! I love your enthusiasm!! But... I would just plow off the rear. The front end doesn’t have any way to mount anything really. I’ve looked at it myself. On a subbie I would just buy the plow and plow off the rear. If at some point you have another car that a bolt on front hitch is available....just buy the hitch and bolt it on. The plow swaps so easily to any vehicle with a 2” hitch.

  • @EasyFixShaun

    @EasyFixShaun

    The 690 Subbie CVT transmission can take it. They are decent transmissions. Those transmissions also go bad when they go bad. You can not save them by being easy on them. The plow puts about the same amount of pressure on the car as a 500-1000lb trailer at most when plowing. It actually works quite well and easy behind a Subaru. Most plowing is done with the accelerator just barely off idle. 😀

  • @EasyFixShaun

    @@Kana0211 I think it would work no problem. Most plowing is done with the throttle just off idle. If you are plowing under normal conditions it doesn't take that much power to move the plow at all. The 7 foot wide snow sport model is just a big shovel. The Subbie's all weight around 3000 pounds. They have plenty of power and mass to plow a driveway. 😃🔧🔧

    The plow works pretty good with the car and it’s transmission. This was a lot of snow. Typically when we use the car to plow there is half as much snow. It works great with either amount.

    So many people comment this and it is incorrect. The load on the motor and transmission is the same as have 4 people in the car at most. I have actual experience doing it this many times. If your transmission "goes out" it was gonna "go out" anyways.

    @@EasyFixShaun Wrong! It's not so much the load on the engine. That has nothing to do with the transmission. I'm just saying from experience with transmissions, they don't take well with constant forward/reverse and most don't have a transmission cooler like most trucks have. You'll see in the long run. I told the same thing to one of the guys at work who did this and lost his transmission a year later.

    The automatic transmission on the Subaru we have is great. We have 250k miles on ours. I would say It does not put any more pressure on the car than a super small trailer with 500 lbs in it. The car is tow rated at 2400lbs maximum. I have towed that much weight with the car and that was way harder on the car than the plow. It's been great for us 😀
