his mental health stories honestly make me tear up, the one where he talks about the dog he used to have that just turned its head while he was about to kill himself with a firearm that was the first one I heard him talk about but yeah the guys is great so sad how really sad and depressed he is but its understandable with the ptsd and other thoughts he has.

During my training, I had to do a 1 week exercise where me and my partner had to infiltrate an area and stay hidden in the bush and wait for a VIP target that was expected to show up in that area at any given time for that week. We would have a 3 minute window to identify the target and take the shot. We stayed hidden for more than 5 days before he showed up and we could take the shot and then we had to get out of there without the "enemy" able to find us and capture/kill us. Others waited only 2 days for theirs and that was the point of it all. Stay totally alert and ready all the time as you never knew when he would show up. So the pair had to take turns sleeping and being on watch for patrols and the target. Always ready to take that one shot. Not using proper ammo in that exercise of course.

Most people can do it, when put in the position with no choice. Human men come out of hundreds if thousands of years of pursuit hunting, we have been honed for this activity. Humans are far slower than most prey and predator. However, we can run for half a day if necessary, there by we can run any animal down, especially if we work in relay. We are all built for this type if thing. I have seen men walk mikes with broken legs, because they had to. It was pretty, but was done. Most people will not lay down and die, they always find what they need. Trust me, I know.

1000 yards on iron sights? By yourself and without optics? No. With a spotter who has optics and wind gauge to bring you on? It's possible. All you have to do is maintain your posture, and shoot at the same point of exhaling, 5 times in a row. Again, a .308 at that range and presumably low velocity, the wind is an issue. It's still impressive tho.
