The SNIP evaluates not the quantity of air (volume) but the pressure, as indicated by the name of the test. The SNIP should be performed in both nostrils as described in the literature. It is not up to the patient to decide in which nostril one should perform SNIP.

Other nostril should have been closed before sniffing
