I have been pursuing this for about 4 years. The VA has finally approved me to go outside the VA to get this surgery....sadly I was told by your office that you won't perform this on anyone over 70. I've seen videos of your patients that are in their 60s and are in questionable health..... I workout 6 days a week...every other day on a bike. My pulmonologist sent me to Little Rock to do the bicycle test. Test revealed my left diaphragm was paralyzed and breathing was paradoxical. I still scored in the 95% of fit individuals. Regardless I deal with shortness of breath, sleep problems and extreme fatigue. When I watch the folks who have been relieved of this ailment it brings tears. . ... I persevere...

Hi, Exactly what you explain is what is happening with me for two years now. I have seen doctor but I want to know the treatment for it.

I was blessed after meeting Dr. Kaufman. My previous MD diagnosed the paralyzed diaphragm plus mentioned NO FIX for the condition? Also said: I have to live the rest of my life with this condition? One night I woke up at 2:00 am unable to breathe and was when I started searching on the computer until found Dr. Kaufman. The next morning my family was in shock after I mentioned all I knew about Dr. Kaufman.

I am so desperate for help. I did my own research and realized that my phrenic nerve was damaged after a previous surgery several months ago. I had several tests (sniff test) and nerve conduction tests (EMG) which confirmed it. I searched for months to find a doctor that might help and then I reached out to this office. I have a virtual appointment set up & I’m looking forward to hearing what they have to say as far as if I will be a candidate.

I was just diagnosed with this issue on my right lung. The doctors where I went told me there is nothing that can be done. My diaphragm does not move all, up or down. I was surprised to find there is a pacemaker for this. Has anyone had that procedure done?

I live in the uk and I'm under a consultation at the hospital who looking in to this being the diagnosis for the symptoms I've been having for a year now. I'm waiting to have an MRI and CT scan to confirm this. Is this procredue offered in the uk? Also 1 year ago when i first started getting breathless and can't lie flat i had a frozen sholder and i couldnt raise my arm up. Do you think these two problems are linked? I woukd apprentice any advice.

I'm a 52 year old Veteran, diagnosed with right side diaphragm paralysis (sniff test) will the VA or Community Care allow me to see you? I've been to Cedars Sinai for a consultation but their 30+ year senior pulmonologist was lost in regards to what it was and what I should do.

I think i have this. I think i got it cracking my neck? Can't always take a deep breath. At night I'll breathe out and i simply won't breathe in, waking up minute after minute. Pain in the mid right chest. Idk what to do. They say there isn't any procedure in Canada
