So glad you are discovering Snarky. Such a great band of musicians. Funky and Orchestral.

'Lingus" and 'Outlier" are two more great ones. "Lingus" is probably the most famous.

The drummer here wasn't supposed to do this show from the beginning but got a last minute call. That might not sound especailly strange but the show was in, i think, the Netherlands and he had to memorize everthing on a flight from America to Europe...needless to say he killed a real bad ass!!

My man Larnell Lewis!!!! He’s one of the most versatile modern drummers that I have heard.

Wasn't even supposed to be on this recording! The original drummer couldn't make it so Larnell had to learn all the songs on his flight over to record

He’s a beast behind that kit. His cymbal work is as good as it gets

Very proud of my young cousin, Justin Stanton. His trumpet is sublime on this.

Snarky Puppy is a VERY deep rabbit hole, be forewarned, when I first discovered them 3-4 years ago, I binge watched all their stuff, a truly spectacular catalog. They are more of a collective than a band; they all compose and arrange and the Bass player is sort of the brains behind the project.

Had an honour to hear them live last thursday at Jazzkaar Festival in Estonia. At last! I've been an admirer since the first listen about 10 years ago... Please continue Your journey of discovering their magnificent music!

There are at least 5 or 6 tracks from the "We like it here" performance that you should react to. Incredible stuff, incredible musicians and Michael League's arrangements are fantastic. Love to hear you do more of these guys.

Harri, please, please react to this oldie, "Color Him Father" by the Winstons (album, not live) maybe by Father's Day. I'd love to hear/see your reaction! Thx

Interesting that they have all those people. A room sounds much different with an audience.

Some of their earlier records were recorded live with an audience in the studio. This is the version you will hear on "We Like it Here"

They are awesome, please check out "What About Me" from the same album/session. It will blow your mind just when you think you glued it back together.

I'm a boomer and my first time being drunk was at age 13 on Boone's Farm Strawberry Wine in 1972. I guess this stuff introduced two generations to alcohol. (And don't forget MD 20/20.)

This track is ok. The two that will curl your toes are Lingus (has one of the best synthesizer solos you'll ever hear by Cory Henry) and What About Me, with a killer drum solo by Larnell Lewis, although his drumming on Lingus is out of this world too. They both are from the same live session this track you are reacting to. How do you come down from a high like that? You don't. You immediately put on What About Me and then Lingus. lol. When you finish those, check out Larnell Lewis at Zildjian live with the Ghost Note band. Smoking as hell, and Mono-Neon on bass, ohhhh lord. After that, do some more crazy fusion from Knower - overtime.
