Snapping Turtles Have One Hell of a Bite

Junior Myno. Snapping turtles have a wider gape, so they have more space to snap down, and they have a very strong beak, so they dont have to worry about breaking teeth. The shape of their beak also means that the force of the bite is spread over a smaller area, for higher pressure per square centimeter

I love these videos, specially when Danielle is in them! Also every time they start drawing the animal they’re talking about I always stop the video to wipe my screen because I usually confuse the fine lines with hairs lol
That was really cool, I live in an area of the USA that has snapping turtles, so it's nice to see you covering a story about an animal I'm familiar with. I love the host's personality!! Thank you all for your work in order to bring education about animals. It's a subject that isn't provided by schools, so parents can come to your channel and let their children learn about our earthly roommates.

As a fish myself that intro was pretty horrific
Snappers are aggressive because they can't pull their heads in like other turtles
We just had a snapping turtle wander all the way to our yard. I don't know why it went all that way, but it then wandered into the road and I was able to grab it before it got hit by an oncoming car. I put it at the water's edge and found out that about fifteen hatched on our neighbor's property. It was nice to see since we don't see turtles here often. Back when my mom was a kid, she and her sister came across an enormous snapping turtle that actually bit a hole in their oar. Common snappers are tough.
Glad Danielle is backkk

I caught one when it was a hatchling, an alligator snapping turtle. The camp counselors didnt know there were any spawning in our boat pond, none had ever been spotted. But thats kinda their thing. The hatchling had serrations all over it, especially the edges of its shell. It was maybe 2cm long and cute as could be but already ferocious. It wanted to bite us real bad and its little mouth looked plenty sharp. Its like the babies are extra spikey so nothing will eat them at that size, since if one got stuck in your throat it could chew its way out. Best day of camp, ever. And no, novody ever saw any other turtles, but there mustve been a few around
