Smokey & The Bandit Tribute Truck - Kenworth 100th Anniversary Show
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
#ProjectSnowman #twinsticks #twinstickgarage
Welcome back to the channel where I’m continuing with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck and trailer to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for??? “For the money, for the glory and for the fun … mostly for the money”
On this episode I take the Snowman Rig to its 1st truck show. Edmonton Kenworth invited me to a local gathering of cool old trucks to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kenworth that started out in 1923 when Harry Kent and Edgar K. Worthington came together to help Pacific Northwest loggers build a dependable and rugged truck and the rest is history. What a treat it was being a part of the show and #ProjectSnowman even made it on the evening news!
Check out Kenworth’s history (same as what I was looking at in the trailer) at: www.kenworth.com/kenworth-100...
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and support!
Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts
Enjoy watching the progress of this Kenworth W900A project, the ongoing Peterbilt 359 restoration and the upcoming #IronDuke Kenworth K100 cabover I’m planning to build up like the one used in the 70’s trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.

You did it! I am glad I followed you since the beginning of the restoration. I now know what an enormous effort it took to pull this off. My hat off to you. You earned my respect.
Mark you should get a poster board with the facts about the movie truck like how the stacks were different heights and stuff for the shows. Maybe show some pictures of the progress along the way. So happy for you man!

maybe set up an i-pad with all the youtube videos. that will promote the channel. or at least a barcode to scan that takes you to the channel.
I could feel the warm glow of pride from here in the U.K. when that news anchor mentioned the truck from Smokey and the bandit. Well done mark.

Why are the rigs in Europe so bland? At least in Germany. Those "MAN" rigs are ugly and Benz and others, are they the same in England?

Just curious how the other side of the pond sees Smokey and the Bandit. As an American who grew up in the 80's. the was the tail end of the 70's and I was 8 years old and LOVED every frame. It's considered a documentary in the South, LOL.
Can’t wait for you to take out a row of parked bikes. She looks good .

Truck show etiquette 101 You can look, but don’t touch!
Man that brings back memories 😮 just after this movie i started my long line OTR carear ! That old K.W is TOO SWEET !!!!!
The split ring aluminum wheels is the chef's kiss on your beautiful truck. Outstanding job Mark!
Now someone needs to come along and make a movie with this truck
God bless all you Canadian truckers 🙏 . Thank you for bringing this tribute together, a man called Bandit from Atlanta GA . . .
Ban two sitting in front of the dealership was an awesome shot! How proud you must be. Beautiful rig and your an awesome builder. Can't wait for the K-100. 👍🏻
What a magnificent journey, thanks for taking us along on this amazing restoration
I watched it at the theater when it came out in 1977. The greatest movie ever made!!!! Im Smokey Bear and I’m tail grabbin your ass right now!! 😂😂😂😂😂
23:22 I had a 1/24th scale model of that tow truck but it was an aerodyne cab over KW. My dad was always inventive with modeling, so we glued on the 5th wheel of our fading moving on Movin' On Kenworth model.
C`MON Son EAST BOUND & DOWN LOADED UP & TRUCKING.. Boy how time flys TY.
Thanks for taking us along to the show Mark, all your hard work payed off, Snowman looks a treat, minty! 👏🏻👍🏻🇬🇧

13:46 That's like the shade of yellow of the Freightliner 2000 classic XL I drove in 2004-05. What a great looking truck! Lot of great looking KWhoppers, your Snowman rig looks awesome Mark!
Ran into a 1978 W900A last week in and out of my hometown in in Coweta Co., GA. Headed to Pigeon Forge, TN this past weekend, truck was great and the driver was awesome, shootout to Russ!
All it needs is for some local brewery to hook u up with a load of beer cases, 🤣LOL!! That truck turned out gorgeous, and the old Cummins doesn't make noise, it makes sweet music🎶🎵, I love it!! Great job keeping the old girl alive!!!
I love the fact that you even got the calculator in it
Not a convoy this is a dream! Soo cool

It's so cool to see Jerry Reed's truck tribute. Eastbound and Down is one of the best songs ever in a movie that captures the essence. I LOVE the Bandit Trans Am, but also the basset hound express... THANK YOU Truckers !!!!! YOU keep the world going, so screw Biden, and that Canadian dude.

So nice to see these old trucks restored to their glory. These were the days when trucks had character. Not the cookie cutter ones we have today.

love it man... f... cool.. n loooooots of work, blood n sweat i guess ... great work
Great job Mark thanks for sharing
Oh, featured on TV news. You're famous now! I have always found it fascinating that Peterbilt and Kenworth are both owned by PACCAR since 1954, Peterbilt billed itself as the truck with class, yet it seems that Kenworth was the big innovator. KW introduced the K100 VIT (108"BBC) in 1972, the W-900 VIT (60" sleeper) for the 1974 model year, and the K100 and W900 Aerodyne in 1976. Peterbilt did introduce similar sized 352's and 359 sleepers, but no Aerodyne.
Great job!...I would have been very proud to have driven this truck!...Shes a Gem!...What a great legacy left for us to enjoy...Thank you for .making it happen!😂
Good on you Mark you more than earn it !!
Breaker, breaker, to the Snowman.

I don't remember Bandit using a Garmin. 🤣That is one sweet rig🤩
BEAUTIFUL
I’ve been making a living trucking for close to 50 years now. Had some polished trucks over the years. And I think others will agree, your Smokey tribute rig was the most recognizable and the biggest kid smiles trucking at the show. Old and young.
Beautiful, piece of history ❤👍🇺🇲🚛💯😎
Ken Worth transport cabs and tailors. My favorite transports. 🏳️🌈 🇨🇦
I haven’t watched every video, but have been sort of following along. Snowman looks great! Happy to see it come together so nicely!
