I first subscribed to your channel when you couldn't have had more than 10 videos, and now my 7yr old daughter wants to watch one episode every night before we go to bed. You deserve every bit of success you seem to be having.

To Kent and Shannon Rollins, my mom is the very good cooking until she died in the heart attack back in 2011 when I was a teenager. Follow my mother's footsteps, I'll do my best for cooking and my family. And thanks for the turkey dish, well done. God bless for the Philippine people.

My grandpa and I decided we were going to do a smoked bird this year and right on queue you upload this. Thank you Mr. Rollins, I'm sure my family will be enjoying something like this!
He is the country, food counterpart to Bob Ross!
Hey, Kent I just wanted to leave a comment saying how much you've helped me throughout the last 2 years. I have been going through a very difficult time studying for my career. You've always been a positive light that I turned to when it became difficult to find the will to keep pushing. I am pleased to say I now have passed my board exams and I would like to thank you for being you and sharing that with me and everyone else. This message will probably get buried but I hope that you see it. Truly and sincerely thank you sir.

In the middle of the CPA licensure tests myself, glad I can find a kindred spirit that appreciates this cowboy as much as I do. Good for you.
how can you not like this guy and what he does. He is full of fun and information about food/smoking.
You're still helping folks a year later. Thanks much for the ideas.
As a Canadian Veteran on a pension it is very hard to get a good Smoker!! Take care, stay safe, stay healthy and God bless!! Happy Thanks Giving you all in the States!!!

You can find a good used one on sale, or use the indirect portion of a large charcoal grill. Fancy smokers may be better and easier, but honestly the best smoked chicken I’ve had has been out of a regular Weber charcoal grill. Check garage sales or Craigslist, fb marketplace. As long as it doesn’t have a whole lot of rust in it, it should be good. Locally I see some for 20-50$
Great video!!! Everyone loves turkey!!! As one grateful veteran, I am thankful for your team's support of our Service Members and our Veterans. Thanks...Peace!!! Buill
I was just talkin about smokin a turkey bird & you do this 😆 Thank y'all for everything that you n yours do. God Bless you n yours from me n mine here in Collinsville Oklahoma

Best cooking channel here on KZread. We raised all our animals on the farm and he teaches us how to cook them. Have a great day
Imma do this because Cowboy Kent has taught me some valuable lessons. I used to always buy packaged stew meat thinking it was "the same thing," but my stews and beef and noodles always came out tough. A few days ago shopping, I remembered cowboy kent said "don't buy that there stew meat because it's just all the left over bits." So I bought a chuck roast and had one of the men cut it up. And it was an absolute hit. So much better than it's ever been. So because of that, I'm gonna brine and work out my turkey. Can't smoke it but it should be fine in the oven.
I thank all who served and are serving now on this VETERANS DAY from my Family to Yours !!! May God Bless you all !!! Thanks Brother for this video !
I don't know what's better - Kent's jokes or Shannon's laughing at them. No matter what these videos are always magical and now I know how I'm preparing my Thanksgiving turkey. Thanks!!
This is the best cooking channel on KZread. Dare I say...even better than a certain billionaire Scottish chef (who I love, as well, but you get my point haha). Keep it up, Cowboy Kent!
I grew up in NC where a lot of folks don't venture far from home. NAVY cured me of that. If you haven't experienced this part of the country and their wonderful food, this is one of the best place to start. You two are are a joy to watch, and, did I say your techniques, recipes, cast iron guidance, and general outlook on life is an inspiration? Keep it up. BTW, who is the new (Lab dog?)
The Pit Barrel Cooker is great if you love to BBQ (get it). Especially during Holidays. Frees up the oven for other things. Got mine about five years ago, and absolutely no regrets.

My Favorite Chef ! Thanks For Sharing All Your Wisdom & Personality With The World Cowboy Kent !!! Bless Your Soul Brother & All Your Family & Friends !
Happy Thanksgiving all - Wonderful recipe. For smoking a turkey you can also try, coating the entire bird with mayonnaise before your applying your favorite rub. My son, kitchen manager, for a BBQ restaurant, taught me this technic for a juicy bird, and it works. Been doing this 3 years running now with the Pit Barrel smoker and it is awesome. God Bless You and Shannon and the entire crew!

In our house you're know as 'Uncle Kent'. Its like old school television. We watch you as we eat some of your recipes. We get soo excited..! 'What has Uncle Kent have for us today?' :) Thank you and God Bless you for what you do.
I've been brining turkeys for nearing 10 years now. I used 1 lb kosher salt aloing with some local honey, molasses, pepper, sage, thyme, rosemary and garlic. I brine my turkey for 9 hours on either side, total 18 hours. I smoke it and like Ken says, it is the best turkey ever. Grandma could never make one as good as one being brined! Happy Thanksgiving
Happy thanks giving my brother you and your misses have a very blessed day

I've been following a very similar procedure for 10 years and I can't imagine Thanksgiving without a smoked turkey. There ain't nothing better. I usually have family piled up around the kitchen waiting for it. Happy Thanksgiving guys. Thanks for all you do.
Been smoking turkey's for 30+ years now. Nothing like sitting down to Thanksgiving with a smoked turkey, so juicy and flavorful. You know it's good when there's nothing left of a 17lb bird on Thanksgiving. These aren't your grandma's oven over roasted dry turkeys. I can smell Kent's turkey from here and I live in Northern California.
I love to see the energy of this gentlement cooking. He's always energetic and full of happy energy. I'd love to share a meal with the Rollings family, I bet it would be amazing. Wish you an amazing thanksgivin sir.
A minute men music sample! Corona. Love it. You never cease to amaze me.
Been watching you all for a while, now. Thanks SO MUCH for your giving us so much in the way of cooking tutelage, encouragement and knowledge! Keep up the good work, Brother! Grace and peace to all!
I love you Kent! Don't ever go away.
I go back and watch this video every year, so I don’t forget anything! It always turns out great!! Happy Thanksgiving, Kent, Shannon, Duke, & the Beagle!!! Those fur babies are so attentive, watching you cook, I ❤️❤️❤️ it!!!!
By far, Kent Rollins beats the rest of youtubes recipe channels. His recipes are amazing and the video content is the best!!
Thank you Cowboy Kent Rollins for the Smoked Turkey Recipe, brine recipe and rub. I cooked a turkey this way yesterday for an early "Thanksgiving" with my visiting family. I didn't have a barrel prepared so I used by Weber.....and all cooking is ONLY done over oak wood.....everything was a struggle as my brining pot too big for the refrigerator.....and I didn't have enough ice to put it in the ice chest. So, while it only brined for maybe 5 hours, the remainder of the time was spent sitting in a pot in the refrigerator. I started my BBQ early and placed it on the rotisserie at about 9:30 am. It was a cold and windy day so I was I constantly had to check my fire. Pulling it off at 1:00 pm and letting it rest, we finally ate dinner around 2:00 p,m. My family has not stopped talking about how delicious the turkey was. IT IS A WINNING RECIPE AND METHOD. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!! I found your site and subscribed a while back after killing our 14th rattlesnake and looking for a way to cook it!
Kent your videos bring a smile to my face! Thank you for what you and Shannon do over here! God bless you guys in everything you're doing!
I'm thankful for Kent and I'm thankful for turkey. I'm also thankful for this recipe. I'd also like to echo Kent's thanks for servicemen and women of every country where they serve. We would not be where we are without their efforts and hard work. I'd also add an especially heartfelt respect to the soldiers of the world who fell in battle defending an ideal they held dear.
Happy Thanksgiving to Shannon , Kent, Duke and the Beag! Who could believe the year since the last one, but you helped so much to bring us through.
I really would love to visit this man, like I NEED to visit this man
I'm back again, to watch and refresh my memory! Better than anything I have ever had for turkey! Thank you Shan and Cowboy Kent for such time standing recipes! Happy Thanksgiving 2021!
Kent, Shannon, Duke and the Beag... .I'm so thankful for your friendship, for your videos, for your replies that always come.... and mainly for the delicious ways in which you cook those meals... Mmmm Mmmm Good! Love me some smoked Turkey! God Bless you all!
one smoked and one deep fried every year ... the best of both worlds !!! love the channel, the content, and the commentary ... !!!
Since this is Thanksgiving and all, I want to say I'm Thankful for you. Your coffee recipe, alone changed my life and your food has given me ideas that made the lives of my boys better, too. My oldest son and I love watching you, and will continue to do so. Take care!
Oh my goodness! That is one of the most beautiful looking smoked Turkey’s I’ve ever seen! I am completely sold on buying one of those fancy Pitt Barrel Smokers. It’s always a treat watching your videos and getting the opportunity to use one of your recipes. Thank you so much for sharing and I hope you and your family continue to stay safe in these trying times. God bless you , your wife, the Beag, and the Duke.

I smoke my turkey every year. The thing is, I don't like turkey, but my family does. I am going to try brining it this year as see if it improves the flavor. Thanks for sharing and my God keep you and Shannon safe from this horrible COVID-19 virus.
Mmmmm... my favorite Holiday's traditional meal... turkey. Good stuff Kent.
I really appreciate that you thank our service men, women and veterans. I love your videos and my family does too. Thank you for what you do! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!
You are such a wonderful and warm hearted person.
I smoked a turkey last year in a homemade offset barrel smoker. The problem was the guy who built it didn't put any holes for airflow. I had to keep the lid open with a rock and fan the coals. I got smart and put a little clip on fan on it to keep it going. So the turkey didn't get up to temperature but it was Definitely smoked! I finished it off in the oven. The whole house smelled like smoke for a week. It was beautiful.
Great job editing Shannon.! The addition of the long legged turkey made me laugh. Thanks again for the cooking tips but I still watch the videos for the Pups!
We have alot to be thankful for Be blessed!
Sure makes me happy to know i get to spend eternity with a brother like you...You make my day Mr. Kent. Blessings to ya’ll from Broken Arrow....

I just love you and this channel!... You are the ultimate American heritage cook and plain old good guy! Keep on keeping on!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Kent my good friend & Christian brother, very nice recipe, & i only eat mine that i hunt for here in rural Kentucky 1 of 3 ways. #1 deep fried in my huge deep fryer with 50/50 peanut oil/vegetable oil, #2 on the rotiseree studded with garlic cloves & poultry rub, # 3 in the smoker studded with garlic cloves & poultry seasoning. I won't eat one roasted in the oven again after eating these. My fave is the smoked, i use about 75% hickory & 25% applewood, & the wood is free here as it grows on the property. God bless you, Shannon, & yours, our vets( do not forget today is veterans day folks) , subs & viewers, & the pups, Amen.
I did this. Now my wife is refusing to ever put a turkey in the oven again. Thanks, Kent! Now I'm on the hook to smoke the turkey every darn year!
Well the family is all strewn across Southern California, keeping safe and away from each other this year. This is a nice video with which to finish the day. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
I literally searched your page for a smoked turkey video two days ago and you didn’t have one. So glad you made a video for it!!! I’m smoking a turkey myself this year!
