Smoked Shrimp Cocktail - Steven Raichlen’s Project Smoke

Steven Raichlen puts a new twist on an old classic: tender shrimp, marinated with chipotle and cilantro then mesquite-smoked in an electric smoker and an electrifying chipotle orange Yucatan cocktail sauce. Steven Raichlen’s Project Smoke is a production of Maryland Public Television in association with Barbacoa, Inc. and Resolution Pictures. Copyright Barbacoa, Inc. 2015

I loved watching him make delicious food on his grill on WHYY. Those were the days and he's still my favorite grill cook. ❤️

I have made this recipe a few times since I first saw this episode. This is by far, the best shrimp dishes I’ve ever had and my family will agree. Do yourself a favor and give this a try, you will not regret it.

Victor De Leon Jr 30 to 40 minutes is the recommended cook time. It’s all going to depend on the size of your shrimp. I personally like mine to cook for 40 to 45 minutes, that’s when it seems to put on a very nice color

This looks so good that right now seems too late. Love his shows. The way he eats the food at the end of each cooking demo makes me laugh cause he just GETS INTO IT!! His vocabulary is simple yet eloquent Awesome! Amazing!! What a blank should taste like Bingo (when food is at right temperature). Love SR!!!

He is using U12 shrimp. Most supermarkets sell frozen shrimp no larger than 21/25. Cooking time obviously varies based on size of shrimp, variety, and whether they were previously frozen or fresh.
