Smith and Wesson Model 547 9mm

Taking a look at the Smith and Wesson model 547 3" K-frame 6 shot revolver. Made between 1980 and 1985. Only around 10,270 547's were made and of that 6,486 were the round butt version. What makes this revolver unique is that it is chambered in 9mm and doesn't require the use of moon clips. It has a proprietary extractor system that hooks into the recessed rim and extracts the cartridge. It was expensive to make and I assume that's why they didn't make very many.

I would LOVE if S&W would bring back an updated version of this gun, (they MUST keep it to a 3” barrel). I’ve standardized on 9mm, but I don’t own a revolver, because none of the current offerings seem appealing.😎✌️

Would love to add one of those to the collection, but they are so expensive.

That is a beautiful revolver and that was some good shooting! the only other revolver with a similar extractor is the Charter Arms Pit bull. I've never seen one in person, but from videos I've seen, it looks like the pit bull's action is nowhere near as smooth as this.

How is felt recoil, compared to something like a .38spl Model 10 with 2 inch barrel?

Personally, I found recoil of 547 a little bit more punishing compared to s&w 10 with 2" barrel, especially if mil-spec 9mm ammo are used in it...
