His 1 should give him movement speed since he’s no longer weighed down by his burden or just give him movement speed on the 3 while the astrolabe is deployed on his 1 so the 3 has synergy with his kit

@@shonntheghost3745 He's considered underwhelming so far and is only OK in support. Has no CC immunity at all, no self-protection buff or mitigations, no move speed stim, low base damage and scaling. His CC abilities are very telegraphed and easy to avoid and unimpactful most of the time. He needs some love

Supports don't need to hit hard, they don't won't him playing solo because slightly too high numbers and we'd have a jorm situation where he's the ultimate lane bully

Atlas should be big asf in my opinion especially since he is a titan. Guardians in general should look the part.

The matter of the titans' size is actually a bit of a difficult topic, espiecially when you consider that both the titans and the olympiains could alter their size. It's quite possible that the modern idea of the titans as giants is exaggerating things quite a bit. Atlas does seems to be especially large, I'll give you that.

Yeah and that fight scenario also had a doom orb + hastened ring Atlas. When even the Devs don't show the god off as a support, you know this is going to end up in the other roles more.

In pts the guy did no damage at all, even with damage items he had problems even with clear

Man, Atlas has always been one of my most requested gods, but I still feel kinda disappointed. Wish he and/or the astrolab was bigger & feel like his 1 should be the ult. I mean, he's literally throwing the entire cosmos at someone lmao.

Atlas looks so sick, also I got a new drinking game for everyone. Everytime she says Astrolabe you take a sip, enjoy that. :P

Take two if it is called a globe or bowling ball Three id it is called a basketball.

It would just be cooler in my opinion if he was holding the globe like you see in many depictions of him like you know a burden as opposed to swinging it around like a rock I think he would be cooler from a design perspective if his basics where kicks and he used the earth for abilities atleast it'd be more faithful then space lasers

You are wrong. It wouldn't be more faithful at all. Because the depiction of Atlas carrying the globe on his back is not a faithful depiction of his myth to begin with. Atlas never carried the earth on his back at any point in the original myth. He is condemned to hold up the sky away from earth. He is holding the heavens not the earth. The "globe" he is holding up in Greek depictions is not the earth itself, but a Celestial Sphere. His myth is strongly tied to Greek cosmology and astronomy. So no, "space lasers" and space themed abilities is very much faithful to his myth. Whereas anything related to holding the earth is completely inaccurate

He doesn’t hold up the earth, he literally bears the weight of the entire cosmos on his shoulders. The entire sky. The depictions of him holding up our planet is simply untrue.

Hot damn, I am so happy that Atlas is finally in the game!!! I haven't played in a couple of months, I am excited to play him!

one of the best designs and gameplay mechanics that i have seen so far this year

Atlas will be a top picked/banned god in the next SPL season. His 2 is one of the best abilities in the game. And his one is a amazing zoning ability for around objectives. After his buff he feels borderline OP. Build CDR and your set. Stone of Binding is also amazing on him.

He should be Atlas: Bearer of the Heavens

2 important things he needs, be bigger and get buff on the ultimate

No. People constantly misunderstand his ult; his ult isn't Ra ult, it's an AOE dubuff. You can't expect to place it down missing the whole initial AOE and do big damage with the beam. You want to hit as many people as you can with the AOE and keep them in there as long as possible.

guys I think that maybe Atlas' Astrolabe allows him to modify his abilities when his astrolabe is out and he can control the location of the astrolabe with his abilities and maybe just maybe his astrolabe empowers the auto attacks he makes with the astrolabe when he charged his astrolabe by using his astrolabe

FINALLY! Lady of the lore is back!

I miss the old God reveals they had. The ones where they would delve into the God's mythology and teach us cool and interesting things about them. It honestly made it seem like these guys were doing their research and giving the gods their proper reprect. Now all they do is a quick CGI vid and the move sets. It's really disappointing.

i feel like his ult should've been a global knock up, because he can somewhat control gravity like he did with rain in mythology (at least i remember reading about him controlling rain droplets)

They must've tweak his damage numbers cuz his stuff does no damage ever so while I love this launch this trailer is deceiving

Normally I really suck with Guardians (the only ones I can truly play well are Artio, Jormungandr, and Terra), but I think I might actually really enjoy Atlas. Can't wait to try him out for the first time.

He's not meant for a damage roll. He's meant to be a support yknow like most guardians

most of the skills work, but that ult to me makes no sense. hes a guardian based around the titan who holds up the earth and sky, why does he fire a laser as his ult?

He doesn't carry the earth, just the sky. People just thought he carried the earth since Atlas is often depicted carrying a sphere, which people thought was the earth, but that sphere is actually just how the Greeks depicted the sky.

One little detail that I love here is Atlas’ skin seems to be stone. Could be a reference to that time where Perseus actually turned Atlas into stone with Medusa’s head

So the new god has a Merlin black hole. a Merlin pull, a pull that throws people, a dash that cleanses, and a Hou Yi ult that is directable like a Susano ult which transforms into a Kuku ult all while being a Guardian. Im sure that will be very fun to play against.

Think of it like a Merlin Pull, with a Zeus shield (but you dont need to hit it, just basic attack), A fenrir ult, a hel cleanse if it was a dash, and a weak Hou Yi ult that can charge and move lol

The kit feels a little uninspired to be honest. Many gods feel good to play because their kits perfectly resemble the god, it's why Cliodhna was so fun at release, because you really felt like a banshee sneaking up on opponents. But I didn't get this feeling from playing Atlas. Just feels like I'm playing a galaxy skin. Biggest example is the gamma ray ult. What does a gamma ray have to do with holding up the sky? I'd honestly like the ult to be maybe him transferring the universe to another target, speeding him up and giving the target massive debuffs, effectively removing a target from combat and making them a sitting duck, which is more flavorful and keeps in line with the vision of him being a true support.

I think it has to do with him perhaps holding up the atmosphere, or perhaps the magnetosphere, as if we didn't have a magnetosphere or ozone, we would have our atmosphere torn to shreds by gamma radiation, so I think it makes sense for him to sort of crack open the sky.

I wonder how well he is going to do.

That is the briefest god lore i've ever seen on this channel.

*Probably the unrelated opinion🤣: After I watched SHAZAM! Fury Of The Gods, I immediately getting interested in Atlas since they introduced Atlas's daughter in The Movie and it leads me to this Video (I used to play Smite⚡for a short while). Atlas is well known as the Titan God of Stamina,Endurance, and Strength cause of his his sacrifice to lift the heaven from collapsing, but in this game, they used his "condemned" and turns it into His "New" specialty and I gotta it's not a bad 😏*

Can't wait to rage when I miss that ult

This ultimate is one of the coolest things to ever enter smite

muscle man Atlas or armstrong (from full metal alchemist) skin with the muscle poses for the first ability

Dota 2 player here. Been inactive in dota 2 for a couple of years but I'm going back to dota and I might give Smite a shot. I would really love to hear the true up- and downsides of the game in its current state. It's it good? Is there a loot of pay walls? Will I be hammered into the ground for hours and hours without a chance of ever winning? How is the community.

This god looks op but will take skill to use so I think that’s what balances him hopefully he isn’t nerfed
