We wanted to add a smart scale to our home gym. We own the Withings Body+ scale and use it in our main bathroom. During our research we discovered that the folks at Wyze have a smart scale. Clarification: Must the user have the app open on a phone at the time of weighing, or can the information be sent via wifi to the app so that the matrics can be viewed later?

It connects via Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. So you do have to have the phone in range for the information to update in the app right away. Or the next time your phone connects to the scale , your last measurements will sync then. We are similar in weight, so we have to have it open just to make sure the metrics get associated with the right user.
Heeey, girlfriends. I actually have that scale and I love it. I had the first generation one, but my 300 pound sister broke it. Luckily, she paid for the new one.
