Those few seconds after the win, she never screamed or smiled or laughed. That lack of celebration is such a joy. So contained and humbled about the victory. I would want to loose to her at any tournament

Yes ! I am a fan of Sloane Stephens ( from France) what a superb athlete, moving so well, especially on clay. I love her formidable forehand on the run.Would love her to win the French open. She has what it takes,the problem is there are 7 games to win

This comment is inaccurate. Sloan is a “pusher” in tennis. She’s NOT generating outlandish power. She’s a tactile player & uses technique. I watched entire clip, & she’s not hitting the ball any (noticeably) harder than her opponent . Crazy how micro aggressions & stereotypes rear themselves in KZread comments.

She won’t win it lol

Her style is reminiscent of Mannarino’s. Anyone know her string tension? It’s gotta be on the lower end because her compact swings with minimal takeback can only provide so much power. Good seeing her focus on accuracy and timing.

Sloane should concentrate on clay. Her somewhat slow and less power game should be great. I really hope she does well at the French open.

*Well, if 250 level tournaments are where she succeed, keep doing it.*

I may have been wrong when I was thinking that she was washed up, when she gained weight and was looking tired, with sluggish movements, which seems like LAZINESS. This is a good win for her. She still can beat any top player, if she continues to play hungry like this. Maybe she is motivated now, to get some more money to start a family. She still has the tools to make it happen this season, cause non on the top players can OUT SMART her.

Not a fan. She's a non dynamic player, looks like she hates to be playing. She's obviously good, but her style is boring. She just isn't a top 20 player.
