In the midst of her final season on tour, unseeded Danielle Collins captured the highest-level title of her career, prevailing on home soil by toppling No.4 seed Rybakina to win the Miami Open.
With the win, Collins becomes the first American woman to take home the Miami Open title since Sloane Stephens in 2018. She is the sixth American woman overall to claim the crown.

I am glad she got a big title in her home state. She is a great part of the WTA cast. There will be a lot less flavour when she retires.
How wonderful to see Daniell win this Big Title,I did not realise that she won seven matches for the win as many as winning a Major ! I hope she can win a Major before she retires,

It's quite dangerous when facing those players in early rounds when you don't really know their game whilst they have likely been studying your game for a long time. The last time Djokovic won the Australia open title, he only lost one set, and it was to a qualifier. He didn't lose any set to the seeded players

It always looks like Collins is having a hard time hitting every ball that comes her way. Her motions aren't as fluent as of most players. But at the end she still makes points.

She hits extremely flat and she often doesn't follow through completely (idk if the two are related or not) making her motion look jerky almost. But as Medvedev has famously demonstrated everything after the tennis racket makes contact with the ball doesn't really matter.
