I am in luuuuuv with you! I started knitting 60 years ago at the age of 12. Finally discovered some one who is all about the freedom and joy of using color, stitches, texture etc. serendepitiously! Fix as you knit, not always necessary to RIP and start over. This video refreshes my joy for knitting.

First off, I love that bright neon yellow. It reminds me of my childhood and the splattered paint sunglasses I had and my Boy George sweatshirt w/glitter, that my grandma bought me. Whew! . Second, I'm not knitting this yet. But now I can't wait ! The tips are wonderful amd I've learned alot from watching. But before this shawl I have to knit your Painted Bricks shawl because I already have the yarn for that. ☺

It's a really fun first section. Once you get used to the rhythm and numbers, it becomes a nice intuitive pattern repeat.

I was freaking out already because I've never done an Icord, so rule #1 already comes in handy, haha!

For the icord cast on, you don't actually have to slip the stitches back to the left needle if you're using circulars! Just slide them down the cable until they're on the left needle! You'll see the working yarn ends up in the same place (farthest from the tip) as if you'd slipped the stitches back the regular way.

Suggestion: if you are having difficulty picking up the stitches the method Mr. West is using, you can use a small crochet hook and pull the yarn through the legs of the iCord and pick the loop up with your needle.
