Buying yarn is a hobby. If you knit with it that’s just a bonus hobby! Suddenly I feel so much better about my stash.

Oh Stephen I totally love your colour palettes and LOVE that you say collecting yarn is one hobby and using it is another 😂, that made my day!
I love your warm nature. I feel like when I knit one of your shawls - your warmth comes through so my West Knits are both beautiful and very comfy cozy!

Wow! That is all I can write. This isn’t a shawl - it’s a Masterpiece. Also good to know there is a name to my yarn acquisition syndrome. It’s a triple hobby... thank you for sharing this amazing project with us. 👏🏻😊👏🏻

I LOVE that purple combo - I think I need that 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can watch and listen to you making pallets all day long......
Ciao che meraviglia bellissimi capolavori bacioni dall'Italia ciao Debora tanti complimenti sei bravissimo 👍😍💞😍💕😘
Thanks for validating what I have always done - increase or decrease to correct stitch count!
I love love love that there is no music or irrelevant sound behind these delicious videos!
I love all of them - all of your patterns. Thank you for sharing & have a wonderful day! 🤗🥰
I so want to knit one of your shawls even though I feel intimidated. I love the way you present the videos
I want to knit this and hang it on my wall. It is a work of art. I'm still a bit nervous because it seems complicated. Maybe I'll have the courage after knitting the boneyard shawl... I've got three going right now!
Thank you for the quick lesson on developing a colorway. This is something I have always struggled with and your explanation is so helpful. Going to go play in my stash and do a few swatches and see what I can come up with. This is exciting.
I always enjoy your color and pattern combinations. Thank you for sharing.
Fabulous tutorial. Thank you Stephen, you’re a magician.
I LOVE the tutorial at the beginning about building a color palette and suggestions for this shawl in particular! Just started the Boneyard shawl yesterday (!) and am definitely putting this one on the list. I can not wait to build a color palette of my own to put on this shawl! Thank you!

Thank you Steven. This us the motivation i needed for this shawl So many techniques to learn. I have had this shawl pattern for ages but looks to technical. So happy to follow along.
Really love all the textures and colours in this shawl. Might be tempted to look for the right yarn! ☺
"feast of stitches", sign me up. Love all of them.
Can’t wait to make this 💗 great video as usual Steven!
This looks like such a fun knit. Thanks.
Interesting stitch. I like this a lot. When I can afford it I will get this pattern.
Thank you!! Finishing Winter Lights and was gonna tackle this next! Perfect timing
I just finished the Honeycomb Blanket in fingering, this could be a great way to use up all the yarn I have left over from it.
So much fun Stephen!
I have been hoping you would post a video tutorial for this!!! Thank you!!! AlsoI love love love the validation of my yarn buying hobby!
This is so gorgeous!!! I already have my pallet so all I have to do now is learn the stitches, lmao. Wish me luck!!!
So excited to work on this in the future!!!!
I would like to have a room(@least 1000 sq ft) with wall of cabinets with clear doors to see all the🧶 yarn I've purchased. Hubby said, don't need any more, will never knit all I have now. I really enjoy your creativity and designs. 🤗Thank you👍🏼
I crochet, but you're making me want to learn how to knit with this beautiful design! Gaahhhh
Ohh thank you so much! I plan to start mine soon and I was a little afraid of the beginning!! Now, I'm not!! The tutorial is just GREAT!!!

This is a shawl I have seen nefore. It somehow makes methink of the film Stardust. Each band is a trial that Tristan experiences in his efforts to getting the star for his love Victoria. All together the shawl shows as the beauty that is his real love Yvaine
I like this 😆👏
😂🤣😂. Love how pragmatic you are.
Excellent! Thank you !!
Merci 🙏 beaucoup pour les explications
Merci Stephen
Lindo trabalho♥️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😘🇧🇷Perfect !
WOW so very nice 😘🥰
Oh Stephen, you're such a temptress! I do not need more ideas, patterns or UFO's but I do NEED this Fantastitch Shawl! Should I fight my cravings or just let it go? *starts singing the theme song from Frozen* Love you
I have a very hard time knitting but Love crocheting (i’d love to know if anyone has a hypothesis as to why this might be the case! Lol). I LOVE your West shawls SO MUCH though. Can you do a crochet version of this shawl??!!! 🙏🏼 (i know you don’t have anything else to do! 🙊😂)

I too would love to be a knitter but my stitching is just too tense and I panic when I drop a stitch. With crochet you only have to worry about one stitch at a time, so I think that is why I feel more relaxed, if it drops off the hook there is not so much knock on damage! Enjoy your crochet. But yes, when I see knitting like this it does make me want to get the needles out...

Thanks a lot
Merci beaucoup
ah la la qu'est-ce que c'est beau tout ça....
I have always thought that this shawl should be accompanied by a fatastitch story. Something like Neil Gaimans Stardust. A tale of quests and difficulties overcome, a bit of comedy with love triumphant over all .
I get so engrossed in watching I almost forget to hit like.
"Buying yarn is one hobby..." Ha!
Oooo first I saw the new strawberry glow kit on Stephen and Penelope and now this video...I’d really love to try this shawl! I haven’t worked with multiple colors in a project yet, would this shawl be too advanced for someone trying that for the first time? Thanks for another wonderful video!

Rachel while I have never knit one of his patterns. It shouldn't be too difficult. Just take it 1 stitch at a time.
What is the purpose of the cast on Purling through the back loop?

It forms a beautiful twisted rib edge along the wingspan of the shawl.

Don't strive for perfection, just the look! Hey, that's cool, and I've never heard before… this coolnees goes through your whole vid and it caught me afterethe first few words. Before l just wanted to have a look onto the shawl, the patterns I loved from first look! But my eyes kept following, my ears wanted to listen to you! Yes, Sir, I've got a new favorite! You're the second man, btw. What I've notiged: you changed the kind of knitting after some rows at the beginning. Do you do that often and if, please, why? I do, but I'm so badly disabled in my whole body by the years, more and more, so my hands and fingers are small in ability. If l change my moves, handpains are lower than without. Flicking Izve learned a short time before and it doesn't stress my body. I hope your intention isn't pain? Again: I' m thrilled to watch next video! Thank you so much! Yours, Conny from Germany (so, please, I wanna apologize for mistakes in language or how to write it. Thank you so much! Cause: I do my very best!) Be blessed and healthy and: have a good time with lots of fun, we don't let forbite it to us by a tiny bad evil virus, but together we win!

@@StephenWest : More and more questions are thrown here as a bone for a dog at the streets. Why don't you bring your question a bit nicer, with a please, e.g? I beg you pardon, don't want to come to close to you! Be blessed!
By "wool" for the main colours, do you mean rustic wool or is merino okay?
@StephenWest
3 жыл бұрын
Merino wool is great! I use mostly merino wool for my shawls.
😭 I don't have time to learn to knit.. I have to much to crochet first😂 it's a rough life 😉 I need this knit pattern to be replicated into a crochet pattern.. is that possible?
Just think: all that hand spun yarn you have been spinning, collecting and don’t know what to do with.
