Yeah. I remember my dad's friends used to have parties for birthdays and stuff and me and my siblings would all fall asleep in the guest bedroom upstairs with the door slightly cracked. It sounded almost exactly like this but maybe with less people. Oh what a time.

Childhood memories where I fell asleep at parties. Could never get enough of it, it always brought me comfort knowing everyone is awake and lively while am asleep for some reason..

This is what I needed in life. Bringt back memories of new years eve, when you are already feeling dizzy and falling asleep on the couch. You can still hear the music and the adults talking but you can’t really identify it. Just that warm and fuzzy feeling

i hate parties, so the fantasy of being able to be entirely unbothered and sleep while everyone else are having fun is great lmao

let's be honest. those were the best partys. i don't want to go to partys and drink alcohol like other people who are 17, i just want to be at a comfortable birthday party of one of my parent's friends

my dad's side of the family, especially my aunt, loves to throw parties and get-togethers at every possible opportunity. i'm an extremely introverted and asocial person, so i prefer to sit on the couch in the living room and read or nap while everyone else is outside or in other rooms. occasionally my grandmother will come over for a break or my dad will come check on me, but for the most part, i'm unbothered, and i like it that way. this brings back so many weirdly specific memories of easter and christmas parties with them. even though a lot of family members have passed away and one of my cousins never comes around anymore except for video calls, we still try to keep the tradition alive.

I remember cheers and night court on the television, I would listen from my room, and my mom and fam would be laughing and the sweet smell of Mary Jane all through the house 😆

Having lately observed that an older person such as myself is not generally welcome at public gatherings, I am sure I will find this more than adequate for those times when I crave the company of others. This is so much better! No being jostled aside, ignored, served very slowly and looked through. And no cigarette smoke, thank God. Getting old is great but you do have to adapt to the realities. All those fish in the sea? Dwindling numbers, my friends.

This reminds me when I lived at my grandma's house for 4 years because of bed bugs and 2 of those years I slept upstairs, most nights my grandma would be in the kitchen washing dishes to music and sometimes a few other people while I was going to sleep.

I like drinking but I don't like being drunk for long. I don't like how you can't just stop it you gotta wait to go through the whole process. So in my 20s whenever I got drunk after a couple hours I'd just go find a place to sleep and often that meant somewhere where you couldn't make out the voices or anything. I don't get drunk anymore but this exact kind of sound to fall asleep to is so nostalgic for me.

This is what it feels like to pass out but still be kind of sort of aware of what is going on. Never be the first..
