I agree, don’t take the lore at face value, and don’t become obsessed with the persona of the band members. It’s all a gimmick to promote music without making the human beings who made it a priority - though it is a really intricate and well-constructed gimmick at that.

The BMTH/ST Australia tour makes a bit more sense now, I know nothing about the music industry, but I would think your label wouldn’t stop you touring with a band from another label, but would obviously prefer you to all be under the same label, which would lead to that line up, with Make Them Suffer too.

I still remember when they were with Basick Records back in 2017, and then they moved to Spinefarm, and now they signed to RCA records that's Insane

Last year was a real one for ST. They became one of the most popular metal acts of this era. This is only gonna up. Combining BMTH would be cool as HELL tho

I can't obviously say anything definitive one way or another, but I'd be really surprised if they would sign a deal that would allow the label to intrude on their creativity like that. I know that it's a common trope that the big record labels stomp on creative liberties with artists, and I'm sure that is and has been true in many cases, but I think that's probably less prevelant these days. I think that labels know that artists can build massive followings and earn an amazing living without the label infrastructure, so I think that the negotiating power is a little bit more balanced these days; especially with a band that's been killing it like Sleep Token has lately. I feel a lot better knowing this is the same label that BMTH is on, because they really seem like they just do whatever the fuck they want. So, here's hoping that RCA extends that same courtesy to Sleep Token as well.

This usually happens if the band/artist fails to make numbers to the label but even if that was the case, RCA wouldn't be signing them. Major labels these days aren't interested to invest in small but "huge potential" artists/bands. We know the "major label bad blah blah etc" discourse but someone on the chat mentioned expecting them to go with Sumerian and honestly that would be a lot more WORSE situation for the band than RCA.

I hope they can stick to the sound of Take me back to Eden, and not go like full pop. This is the best new band ive heard in ages, that also are gonna get massive. They are already big. I think its good for the Metal genre and rock music when bands like this comes up. It Will make rock/metal more populAr.

I hope they will continue combining the ambient, electronics and metal, instead of being a generic "modern metatl" band like BTMH with a generic structures, and will continue sounding like ambient + metal + indie combination, in that order

I, for lack of a better word, slept on ST because I figured they were just another Ghost but I shazamed a groovy little tune before a show once which turned out to be Chokehold. Haven't looked back since.

Love to see that you are making progress on the subscriber percentage. When I subbed you were somewhere in the low 50s.

I am so upset there aren’t more shows in the US so we have more chances to see them.

I’m going to the BMTH and Sleep Token concert in April, absolutely CANNOT wait.

I'm really happy for them. It was fun to see them blow up practically overnight.

I recently just started listening to Sleep Token like 5 days ago with just Rain, I found it on the Spotify shorts and liked it. As of yesterday morning I now listen to all of the Taken Me Back To Eden and This Place Will Be Your Tomb albums. I'm still getting used to their sound, especially Vessel's voice, but I'm loving the music so after. I'm regretting not listening to them sooner. I'm truly impressed by them.

No one’s gonna see this or care, but I’m playing guitar live for the first time ever tonight and this video is helping me relax so much beforehand, so thank you Nik! Edit: Just finished performing, it went great! Thanks to everyone who cared enough to drop some encouragement! I’ll post a video on my channel this weekend if anyone wants to see.

Bro, I love their sound. I think it's such a cool mix of different styles.

The main thing that's on my mind is I hope the record label sees how marketable Sleep Token's current sound is that the record label doesn't try to meddle with their art. Been a fan since sundowning and I absolutely love how undefinable they are.

Super stoked about them joining RCA to be honest. I think it’ll help expand their creativity. I also think they’re the type of band who will stay true to their lore/vision and will speak up against any push from the record label on changing anything. Also. You should absolutely link up with the Sleep Talkin Podcast!!!!!

Record label contracts are typically for X amount of music. They probably fulfilled the contract and just moved to something bigger. I doubt their sound will change anymore than it would have by their own choices.

Just a quick story to hopefully make you chuckle…. I was tryna buy Sleep Token tickets for their show in Philly The Met… the tickets would go on sale while I was at work (10:00am). The company I work for gives us a break at 09:30 and a lunch at 12:00 so I would be able to buy em as soon as they dropped… for some reason tho i decided to go to the wawa during the first few minutes of my break and my idiot self left my keys locked in the truck and couldn’t get in… I eventually resolved all that got back to work and because of all that excitement I didn’t remember about the tickets until lunch and when I got on to buy them they were all sold out no with no resale available 😭.

Listen I feel this, and I would hope. But everyone has a price, and they should get the bag, and when they spend a few years and put out some less creative works, then they'll be able to go independent and ride off the success from all the marketing of the big label.

I'm an old fogey and fully jumped on the Sleep Token hype train. Only got more interested the further back I traveled down their catalog history. Great seeing them succeed while doing their own thing. Love their Genre mixing. I can listen to them, Opeth, Hank 3, Archspire, In Flames, RHCP, and TooL all in the same sitting... so I am probably not the type to hate them lol. Anyway, good for them!
