I'm a sleep texter. My old phone , which I had for 3 years, had a thumbprint recondition for unlocking. I had to start signing out of my social medias because it got so bad. I would text mostly coherently. I have night terrors, and sometimes it was related to these - which scared the crap out of my friends. I think that it exists in two forms: 1. Falling asleep while your phone's open and accidentally using the keyboard or 2. Being mostly asleep but awake enough to do stuff and wanting to inform someone about something that happened in a dream or is on your mind, I've done this one a few times to my partner lol

Few times I picked up my phone to type something in notes app or to text it to someone while half asleep. Then went to sleep again with phone in hand dreaming that I finished doing it. My brain isn't evolved to go through the several steps involved I suppose. 😂😂

​@@renakunisakiI once was informed my a family member in the morning that I'd woken them up at 3am by getting out of bed, going to my laptop (which was in a different room), logged in and searched random nonsense phrases before going back to bed. Sure enough I checked my browser history, there it was. I had the layout of the place and my password both down to muscle memory at that suppose so it's not that implausible

The ones where the boyfriend is sleep texting his girlfriend are so relatable. I love my girlfriend more than anything in the world, and I can totally see myself doing that. I do remember messaging her while I was on the verge of sleep in the past, and I probably said a lot of stuff like that in my half-asleep state.

Oh god, Ambien. My mama took Ambien for years. One time she knocked on my door at like 4am and opened the door to see me sitting in my room with the lights on, sitting up in a chair, reading a book. I put my book down and said "Hey, you okay? You need anything?" after which she squinted at me for a very long time with a very confused look on her face and whispered "are you awake???" the way you do when you dont want to speak too loudly in case the person really is asleep. I looked at her and sarcastically said "Oh yeah, I just have really gotten into reading books in my sleep lately. You know how it is." And she 100% seriously said "Okay sorry I love you I'll let you sleep" and left. I cried laughing at that.

There's also Muscimol which is found in the Amanita Muscaria mushroom, which is basically the precursor to Ambien. It even works on the same receptors in the brain. That one had me thinking that mirrors had time limits and that the moon was the eye of James May.

A little late for this, but this reminds me of something my mom has done more than once. She has seriously bought stuff in her sleep, have no idea how she does it, but it's hilarious whenever she buys stuff while asleep lol Here's a few things I can think of - $80 worth of potato chips that tastes like corn - 2 flash lights - Rainbow cooking utensils along with matching silverware - A music CD off of Amazon, and she somehow changed it to the European Amazon when we're in United States - A book - Final Fantasy 8 on Switch That's only a few of the things she fully purchased. There's one thing that she almost purchased. Though it would of been hilarious if it did She almost bought $107 worth of computer mice, and 3 of them looked like cars lol
