Although I appreciate you showing a way to do this mod with everything on the bike, it's so easy to remove the tank and pipe, then you can do things right and reduce screwing something up.

I believe there are multiple ways of doing things the way I've done this it was fast and super easy I don't think there is a right or wrong way of doing something as long as nothing gets broken. Thank you for your comment and yes taking the tank off would simplify things if you planned on taking the throttle body out as well

Nice! I was looking at options as I like the DIY approach, the GoPro screw is a great solution, thanks for the video.

Thank you for taking the time to show us this. My idle screw is being a bear and without the guidance of your video, I would've been pretty scared to put the pressure on the screw that is necessary to remove it. Extremely helpful!!!

Nice idea about doing it without removing the throttle assembly. Very good video with great explanation not going too fast. You forgot to mention an opening in the black cover needs to be made so the screw fits through it. I see everyone removes a "U" shaped piece of plastic. Drill a hole then trim it nicely to a "U" shape. I just received Slavens screw and spring last week for my 2022 300 XC TPI. Poor timing on my part to stumble across your video now. Lol. I like the looks of the black knob and it looks like it would be easy on the fingers when turning it. Slavens and all the others I have seen use a 5 mm screw that has threaded length of 50 mm long with the standard 0.8 thread pitch (0.8 threads per 1 mm). If it is very difficlt to turn out the grub screw please add more heat as stripping the head of the screw will not be nice. Be patient as he says. The screw beside the black cold start knob is an air bypass screw on fuel injection engines. Not an air/fuel screw that carburetors have. There is a passage that bypasses the throttle plate to let more air in. The fuel injection system does not monitor the bypass so it does not know how lean or rich the overall setting is. It monitors only the throttle position via the TPS, Throttle Position Sensor. So he turned in the air bypass screw to richen it because it was open too much letting in too much air. Richening is always safer also and produces more low end torque. It was similar to having a vacuum leak. Not good.

Very good points thanks for sharing also yes you are right I forgot to mention the black cover needs to be notched out with a dremel to fit the new idle screw 👍

Thanks yea wish I knew that when I did the 150 could have saved almost $70 lol .I am glad I didnt spend the money for the xc . The mod worked for me but not to the extent it did for the 150.but I'm am guess this will vary from bike to bike because some ppl swear it was the best thing since white bread on there 250tpi and others it didnt work out .my bike happens to be one that it worked but only enough to help with the stalls but wouldnt be worth the $70 bucks

I heard the 2018 and 2019's have a Torx grub screw but the 2020, 2021 & 2022 bikes have the 2.5 mm screw grub screw head. I will find out soon on my 2022.

Every bike seems to be different worked beautifully on my 150 the 250 always had a bit of a hanging idle I did mess with the idle air screw a bit and it helped ..the idle mod absolutely helped with the down hill and hard breaking stalls as well as faster starts ..but idle still hung a bit for my liking idk ..some ppl say it sounds normal but I beg to differ

I had that issue my 1st time around if it's a higher end iron it should do it no problem may have to take the cover off and heat up multiple spots ..try the threads themselves on the upper portion of screw then move to the bottom of screw and alternate keeping them hot ..it did take a while to really heat up so have some patience
