I’m planning on buying the skytrak+ in August. Can you do a video on how you setup your impact screen and projector? Or just let me know what screen you’re using? It looks good and it’s hard to tell what to buy when online shopping for them. Thanks

I’m using the 8x10.5 DIY Enclosure Kit from Carl’s with the premium screen: friendlygolfer.com/recommends/carls-place-diy-enclosures/ I also bought my projector from Carl’s Place and they helped me pick the right one - BenQ TH671ST. You basically want to map out your space and make sure you know where your projector will be mounted based on it’s throw distance and your screen size. The projector is the most annoying part of all of this which is why it helps to buy it from the same place you’re buying your other stuff so they can help you. I’ll be doing more videos on simulator set up but I can’t promise it will be before August. Check out Carl’s Place but let me know if you have any other questions!

Just bought the skytrak +, it’s on its way. Also bought the fiberbuilt grass 9x5 mat. Thanks for the reviews. How are the graphics on the actual screen on the skytrak? I currently have a rapsodo mlm2pro but using awesome golf and E6, the graphics aren’t that great. Awesome golf is kinda cartoonish…E6 is not crisp like it’s in 720p or something. Running screen kirrofrom my iPhone to a NVIDIA SHIELD PRO to my projector..BenQ TH671ST in 16:9 on a 15 ft x 8.5 ft Carls premium screen

I don’t think the graphics are too bad. Probably better than E6 but not as crisp as other simulation software. For just a driving range it looks good.

Glad to see yours is working for you. I love SkyTrak's software. The range, randomizer, bag mapper, wedge matrix are awesome tools. Unfortunately all that is tainted by reliability issues. I've owned the OG SkyTrak and ST+. My original had occasional missed shots. I was excited about the club data on ST+ so decided to upgrade. Out of the box network mode flat out refused to connect. Spent time with support, tried all suggestions, nothing worked. It also didn't read chip shots whatsoever. It's possible I got a lemon so curious what others experiences are like. After all the frustration I finally traded it for a Bushnell Launch Pro which is rock solid reliable and a joy to use by comparison.

That sucks! So far so good but I haven’t had it very long. Haven’t tried chipping or hitting driver yet. I like how the software is pretty geared towards game improvement. Even if you did get a lemon I doubt you’ll regret going with the Launch Pro.

I second that... First out, mine is all good and I even did an outside test which was also outstanding... Also, I'm testing GSPro connect to ST+ and that's coming probably within a couple weeks too. All in all, ST+ is a win... win...for the $$$

Friendly Golfer do you buy all these launch monitors? I've seen you do videos on MEVO+, SkyTrak, and Bushnell. Or is the company your an affiliate for sending them to you?

So I bit the bullet and went with the ST+, I know you recommend the Bushnell, but I fell in love with the data points on the ST+ - specifically with the red, amber, and green for certain metrics. My question is (actually two questions) if you followed the instructions in the quick guide an charged this thing for the suggested 5 hours? Also, were you able to walk through the setup while it was charging? Now I'm going to have to go back to the video where you connected the ST+ to GSPro. Thanks for both this video and the GSPro video!

Awesome! I love that feature. It’s one of the things that makes it feel like its geared towards game improvement. I know I charged it fully before doing anything because I’m weird like that. I waited to do any setup until it was fully charged. You probably can but I’m usually just really cautious with stuff like that. Enjoy!

Appreciate your detailed, unbiased reviews. Trying to decide between Skytrak + and Mevo + with Pro Package. I don't believe you've compared them directly. Which would you use if you had to choose between these two units? Thanks in advance.

If I were to choose between both of those it would be a tough call. I would probably go with ST+ since it’s camera-based and I don’t really need to use it outdoors. The ST+ battery life is much longer and it also has Network mode so it can connect to your WiFi network on it’s own which is nice. It would depend mostly on how you want to use your launch monitor. I need to do a comparison video for these two soon. I generally tell people if you are in the US and wanting a launch monitor for simulation to go with the Bushnell Launch Pro. It’s a more professional quality launch monitor for not much more $.

@@johngetz5812 If you don’t have a gaming pc and never plan on getting one then it makes more sense to go with one of these since you can run everything from an iPad. Hopefully I can make the video soon but feel free to ask any other questions about these two in the meantime. I own both.

Skytrak software + GSPro would be nice!

Nice video. I envy that you can afford to buy all these different launch monitors. My wife would kill me! I love the way the range looks in the skytrak+. Two issues I want clarity regarding is how the club data is measured as in is it actually measured using the radar or is it calculated using an algorithm and also how accurate is it? The other issue is if I will be able to pay GS Pro using it in the future. It was apparently possible with the old Skytrak and I would expect some clever people to get this new unit work ing too but I am going to wait for that before actually making a decision. Price wise the Bushnell Launch Pro isn't that much more expensive anymore and GS Pro does work with it. My only issue with the Bushnell is that it doesn't give much club Data even with the metal stickers attached to the face club. The data it does give you is super accurate though. So if the club data on the Skytrak is really measured and accurate and I can use GS Pro with it then I would probably get one.

Thanks! Haha my wife is pretty understanding I guess… Your two questions are the exact right ones. I’ve been trying to find out the same. Apparently SkyTrak is a little more secretive about how their technology works and just doesn’t put much information out about it. Someone on facebook (unofficial and unreliable source) suggested that skytrak stated club path and face angle are estimates. If that’s the case the only club data left to measure is club head speed lol. I’m not sure we’ll get an official answer anytime soon. Someone is currently working on GSPro integration for skytrak+ and said they hope to have a first release as soon as this weekend. As soon as it’s out I will do a video on it. He also supposedly asked for permission from skytrak first and received approval. The Launch Pro isn’t much more and I’m surprised the skytrak+ didn’t come in a little cheaper (like $2500) to separate itself more. I haven’t spent enough time with the skytrak+ to fully review it yet but my initial comparison is that for a little bit more money you can get a more professional launch monitor in the Launch Pro. The single sticker on the club really didn’t bother me much and I was worried about not having face to path but I didn’t miss it. GSPro gives a calculated face to path for the Launch Pro if you really want it. I would also say the Launch Pro / GC3 is about 90% the same experience as the GCQuad for much less $$.

When I go into alignment mode on my new Skytrak+ I do not see the 2 red dots projected like on the original Skytrak. Anyone else have the same???

I heard this isn’t working for ST+ yet. Mine doesn’t do anything either. They recommend using alignment sticks against the launch monitor.

Please do more, I am really thinking of this vs the BLP.

I technically pre-ordered it on 5/28 and it shipped on 6/12. I would assume they're probably shipping quicker now.

similar problem.... Upon registration, told me that my email was already in use. I used an alternative email address, and it allowed me to move forward. still struggling with software and account. Poor user interface.

Strange. I could not figure out how I’m the world my email could have been used already. Customer service was kind of confused with it as well but were helpful.
