    The reason BLP is region locked to USA only is that the GC3 is available in UK/EU. Skytrack+ is clearly a consumer unit and BLP a bit more professional. However, once you take into account subscription costs Skytrack + is a lot cheaper. I am highly impressed with what you get with Skytrack+, it is not for the professional golfer but it is pretty close to ideal for the serious amateur. What it delivers for $3k now is what we would have had to pay $10k for 3-4 years ago. I have no doubt that over time it will get better and cheaper

    I would also add that for SkyTrak I paid for the lifetime membership to TGC 2019, which was around $800 and so all I pay is the annual $129, which was $99, and that's it. So, I have played all kinds of courses, Pebble Beach, etc., for what is essentially $10 a month. For anyone just wanting to play at home during the winter and, very conveniently hit balls during the week, this is it!! I have the whole set-up; overhead projector, hitting bay/screen, birdie ball putting mat, etc., and am very happy with the product and the price. Now, I just wish they would let me trade in my current SkyTrak for the new one!!

    Super awesome video and very grateful you made the comparison as I'm struggling with all the great options on the market. I really like the BLP/GC3 but my main con compared to the Skytrak+ is the subscription and courses they sell are quite expensive as opposed to having that on a cheaper subscription plan with the Skytrak+ using E6 and Topgolf. Sounds like E6 software is less buggy as well.

    The BLP with basic subscription and GSPro may be the way to go then. The only downside is there's no guarantee Foresight won't force you to pay more for GSPro later on if it ever becomes officially supported. GSPro is far superior to E6 on iOS. It all depends what each person wants to get out of their launch monitor / simulator. If you want to run everything off an iPad then Skytrak+ is a great option. If you plan to use a gaming PC and want the best possible simulation experience, GSPro and BLP are both a big step up. Hope it helped and didn't leave you more confused! Let me know if I can answer any specific questions.

    Had a SkyTrak and was contemplating moving to the SkyTrak+. I thoroughly enjoyed using SkyTrak but just wanted some club data. Along came some folks recommending Bushnell Launch Pro. I really didn't want to put stickers on the clubs to gain access to the club data. However time after time information on the accuracy of BLP versus the issue I was having with a 60 degree wedge while using SkyTrak, pushed me to BLP. I do have to say I really liked the software that was with SkyTrak as compared to Bushnell Launch Pro and FSX. Thankfully GSPRO takes up some of the slack and improvements are ongoing.

    The SkyTrak software does seem to be the best part. It seems to be very stable, lots of features and can be run entirely from an iPad if you choose. Did the club stickers end up bothering you? They never bothered me but putting 4 per club on for the GCQuad is a little annoying and they seem to come off way more often than the single sticker for BLP.

    I’ve owned both as well and there is no comparison. The BLP is far superior is accuracy, ease of use, software, so on. ST+ alignment is finicky and having to position the ball label for every stroke is tedious. With the BLP, the alignment stick is quick and automatic. Putting a sticker on each club takes 2 minutes and you’re good for a long while. The software with the BLP is far superior as well, both in quality of graphics and stability. My SK+ would drop frequently and the only way to fix was a hard restart. The BLP literally works 100% of the time. After the ST+ missed 40% of shots with clubs 52 degrees and higher, I had had enough. I’m so glad I switched.

    I agree, FSX Pro should be fully unlocked for Basic. GSPro has a nice driving range but it's very basic in terms of features. They roll out updates pretty regularly and something gets added here and there. They just added a shot randomizer that picks random distances for you. Ball and club data is shown with every shot but you can't really see session history or dispersion data. For that stuff people are using golfshotanalytics.com which is free and connects to GSPro. I haven't used it but probably will go through it soon. I'm sure GSPro's driving range features will get there eventually but for now it's pretty basic.

  • @friendlygolferdotcom

    @friendlygolferdotcom

    9 ай бұрын

    That's kind of tough and probably depends most on how you want to use it. Also, I assume you are looking at only getting FSX Pro and not the typical licenses it comes with for 2020 and Play as well. That means you're probably planning on using an iPad only and not a gaming PC for simulation. The GC3 is the better launch monitor, no question whatsoever. FSX Pro has improved quite a bit and it's pretty solid now but I still run into some minor bugs. I would say the only advantage ST+ has it that it's software is pretty user friendly and works great on an iPad. If you're going to pay for one of the subscriptions you'll get some cool features and can use E6 and WGT for sim on your iPad. Really hard to answer this without having a conversation but I would say if you want a professional-grade launch monitor that is extremely accurate, reliable, easy to use, and works great indoors and outdoors - go GC3. The ST+ hardware is not near as good as the GC3 but the software has some nice features and works well as an iPad only solution.

    launch pro is too expensive....the club data addition...which you would want an additional 1500, and then you gotta buy sim software fsx...and it is a 700/year subscription.........if your gonna send that much...might as well get a GC 3 or a quad and get the best. I feel they missed the mark with trying to get a launch monitor for avg golfers to use in home/on range at the price point. skytrak plus and rapsodo are pretty damn good units for the prices they are at. I have both. I love both but for different things. rapsodo awesome golf is fun as hell...love their range...approach shots range, coaching range, etc. course play is fun too yet limited and cartoonish. skylark is the bomb...period. gapping, wedge matrix, don't have to have dotted balls....camera measurement....accurate. very nice tool if you r serious about dedicating time to see your numbers and improve on them and make changes to your bag that will help your game and lower your hcp.

    Launch pro with club data is $3500 and the gold subscription is now $500/yr. ST+ is $3000 and you’ll want one of their subscriptions for either $130 or $250/yr. They’re not that far off from each other. Certainly could get a GC3 for $7000 and be all in with no subscription if you prefer. I would recommend the Launch Pro to anyone in the US but if you’re not then it’s a pretty big leap in price from ST+ to GC3. If you’re in Canada the uneekor eye Mini is probably the next best thing to a GC3.
