I also have a Chinese friend (my very first sky friend)! If Cao is a student, school just started 3-4 months ago and there’s a high chance they’re boarding in dorms. Plus their school work are usually jam packed so they really can’t have much time to play until next vacation.

One of my sky best friend is also chinese. She's always missing for good 2-3 months due to her school. I think they are not allowed to have phones while in dorms or smthing but I always welcome her with a warm sky hug everytime we play again together ~ i wanna know if u reunited with Cao again if yes, that'd be great^^

The fact that two people that speak completely different languages can get together like this by chance and become friends is so crazy to me. This makes me so happy.

I still remember the time i started playing sky its about 2 years ago from now, i meet a veteran solo player she was carrying a moth along with her, after i light her up i added her and she guided the two of us to spirits and wings, Across all realms, as a moth i always admire her, she was like a mother figure to me. she was tall, and well dressed , everytime i get confuse or lost she was always there spreading her arm, she was too gentle and kind its as if i would hear her voices through the texts, i’ve never been that attached to someone like this before, after about a month, I started ubering instead since I’m already familiar to sky, she would talk about how much she loves ghibli movies and strawberries ,she loves howl’s moving castle ost, taking pictures, she love cats, she also like to carry me around places, she also love talking alot and i love listening! She always tell me about her illness, about how her body is getting weaker and weaker and kept saying she was glad for being her ! The naive me from years ago always burst out crying every she talked about it, all i can do was cheer her up, eventually she started getting less online and then in one find evening we played together for the last time, while we were doing cr in the vault , she told me that we won’t able to playing together for few months and more, the reason were unknown she didn’t tell me why. she just say to wait for her until she return back and she never did. Everytime i think about it, i tear up, i hope i get to see you oneday i even own lots of cosmetics and the pants you wanted but never had, i’ll saw you new places, just come back, sorry for my english

She’s always worrying about my sleep schedule because of timezones, we go to beautiful places, sometimes we joke around and we’re learning a bit of our native languages (I’m teaching her some Spanish sometimes haha). We talk about deep stuff, sometimes we just sit in the Hidden Forest and hear the rain. this reminds me of my friend wangwang from china, shes so sweet and older then me, shes so kind and she made me feel safe and happy, i wanna consider her my mother, she doesnt have a lot of cosmetics even though she plays a lot, she joined sky before i even knew about it, she gives me hearts and calls me her dear friend, i always feel bad that she spends so much of her hard work to make me happy, so i do what i can, i send hearts and uber her for waxes, we met when i was still a moth. i love finding her message boats but some of them make me sad, shes so lovely i went through a break up, the person the introduced me to sky left me (we dated long before we played sky, were childhood friends) and i never felt so lonely in a game, i cried a lot, but my dear friend stayed by me, and stayed up with me while we talked, she even bought me smth from iap and i begged her not to but she didnt take no for an answer. she just wants me to feel better but i already do, just hanging out with her makes me less lonely, and more confident to make new friends. im so glad i have her help me, im so glad i can help her. shes my bestfriend.

I remembered I first met a veteran in Daylight Praire the 2nd day in Sky. Her name is Sakura and she's really nice. She helped me in Golden Wasteland and Eden. She stayed by my side all the time. She was literally the BOMB. She was AWESOME. The last time I saw her online was at Wasteland. And then I never saw her again. Sure, I have lots of new friends and all, but... she is still my favourite among all the friends I have. Sakura, I know you'll never see this, but, wherever you're at, I pray for your safety. I met a friend a few months ago when I was looking for help in that second gate, she was a newbie as well. Luckily, I had a few candles to unlock chat for us, and I did it. Since that day, we've been talking a lot to each other, she's from Ukraine, studying overseas far from war, and I'm from Brazil. A couple days ago, she told me that she was feeling sick, she got a fever, then told me that she had to rest a little because her vision was blurry (probably because it was 2 AM in her country, while it was 10 PM in mine) then I said it was okay, she could rest all she wanted. And so did she, but she didn't come back yet, I've been waiting for her for 11 days, I'm getting worried and I can't send her gifts to alert that I am online, because I already did... Thank you for making this video, it made my day so much better... I had a Japanese friend and our friendship was very similar, they taught me everything about this game, and even gifted me the Little Prince season pass, we har a really good relationship and i used to wake up early every day just to play with them, because of the timezones, they would be going to sleep a little after i used to wake up, so we could only play for a little, but those moments were the best i've ever had playing sky until today, i remember it well, it's just in my memory now because they stopped playing the game (they would log in one time or another but with weekly or monthly breaks) and we didn't have any sort of social media to stay in touch, and right after that my phone broke and i went 6 months straight without being able to log into Sky to check if they were online, now even since i got my phone back, i never see them online again, yet i hope i can meet them at least one more time. This game connect people so well, that one of my best friends ever ended up being japanese, i have never even thought it would be possble! This game is truly art, and is made to connect people together, in union, and make us be the best we can 💝 Thank you Jacob and Cao (if you ever see this lol) i wish you can keep being the awesome and wholesome friends you are!

Just started playing Sky again after stopping for like a year. When i first started, i didn't even know that all of the avatars were real people. Therefore, i randomly make friend at first. After playing for a week, i began to know more about the game and its mechanism. I feel more scared to socialize after i knew it was all real people. U can say I'm an independent player and i did all of my spirit alone. Then, one day i discover the sanctuary island. There's this spirit that's so hard for me to do since im still a beginner at that time. After a while, I've been thinking to quit finishing that spirit and give up but then this one person join me. Because of that person joining, that mission gets more fun to do. After we done it, i get so excited so happy. We honk at each other and spins around. I thought it was going to end just like that because I'm not brave enough to make friend but then that person reach out first. I couldn't tell u how timid i was but fr, I'm actually very introvert at that time and my social anxiety is really high. I want to make friend but I'm scared. Luckily, that person made the first move and so we became friend!! Actually i don't know their gender is and I'm scared to mistook their gender. I call them Niki, a very cool person and chill. They were the one that actually teach me a lot about Sky and i like talking with them. Yk what's so funny though? We only get to play together for total 3 days if I'm not mistaken. Even on that short amount of time we spent, there's still a lot of memories and words i couldn't get out. It's like my first time experiencing someone talking so softly to me. Even on that short amount of time, they did a lot of impact on me and build my personality a lot on sky. They got to left sky though since they need to focus on study. I thought they only left for a while and will come back soon.. but i was wrong. I kinda regret not reading their text throughfully. It's been like 2 years maybe, and I'm still waiting for u to come back and lit my candle. I wanna watch the rainbow together still. I wanna tell u about the past seasons i get to experience. I've change now and are more sociable, especially on the internet and i think it's all because of u. If i could, i really wanna meet u for one last time. It's always person u met from China, huh?😔 After i left, i tried making new friends but it didn't feel the same. Slowly, playing sky kinda make me burnt out and so i stopped playing for a year but then i started again this year. But i never delete this game y'know!! Because i believe u would randomly lit my candle.. please. Hey, Niki!! Please, i really wanna talk with u for the last time if i could and to thank u for something u don't even know u did. Well i don't even know if they remembered me but just in case, it's me, Petto. The moth that's really bad at flying. I'm obsessed with Lil Prince now!! This takes me back to when I meet a Vietnamese girl in sky. She was so nice. I haven’t seen her in months but I will always remember a message from her saying “We will always be friends”

I remember when i first met one of my best friends in Sky. Their name was Koi, we met in Daylight Prairie, i saw that they had a manta plushie, so i lighted them and i hugged the manta plushie, and later we were talking about the game, both of us said that we were a solo player, and then koi said to me: "Do you wanna candle run?" I accepted because at that moment, i didn't have candles, so then we both were playing, and i was having fun with them. Then, almost all days, we played with each other, they helped me with many things,to relive spirits, how to candle run, to pass the trials of the Season Of Prophecy. Sometimes, we helped each other with season quests and other things. Then, one day, i asked them: "When is your birthday?" And they said: "April 22" In april, i wanted to learn how to play "happy birthday" with the piano to give them a surprise, but... I lost my account, and i didn't have time to say how grateful i was for having them as a friend and to wish them a happy birthday :(

This comment section is wholesome but bitter sweet at same time. Thank you for uploading this. It reminded me so much of my moth days. I am playing the game for over a month now and my first days seems just like yesterday. I also would like to share a bit of my story. I will leave it here to remind myself of a precious friend that will always have a place in my heart. During my moth days, I was just playing for less than a week, I met a Chinese friend. His name is Mei. It is very nostalgic and memorable even if we do not play everyday or for so long. I am a solo player on Sky but I love chilling at Prairie or anywhere with many people. That was the time I met Mei. I was just chilling at the Hill of Prairie with my days of bloom tea table spell when he sat down and talked to me. That was the start of it all. I was a moth that time and so is he. Well, just a moth in clothing but actually a pro. He played for so long on the Chinese server and only went to Global to chill and meet friends. He lead me to all the maps, all the ancestors, the trials and even to Eden. But the best parts were the times we go explore places with good scenery like the OOB in Valley, the sunset in Sanctuary and the part in after Eden where you lay down and see the stars and constellations. He indeed was a big part of not only my Sky journey but also my healing process. I originally played this game to heal myself and to escape and distract myself from stuff happening irl. I told Mei about it and I can still remember all words of wisdom that he told me as if I heard it just awhile ago. “As long as you do it. There’s nothing you can’t do.” “About the sad thing, I can only give a little comfort and things have passed, do not be sad. good things in the memory of it.” “Maybe it makes you sad, but it also makes you grow up a lot.” I wish I had a longer time with Mei or maybe show to him how much I progressed in a month. It’s exactly 21 days now since he went inactive and he must be busy with irl stuff or gone back to their server. I still hope one day I get to see in my screen that he is online or in my notification that he lit up my candle. Just like I always told him, it’s never a goodbye but instead “see you again”. To Mei, We might have played for only a few hours or sometimes just for less than an hour a day but those are moments I treasure. Even the time you told me, “Play this game and make some friends who are good at playing by themselves. Don’t invest too much in other feelings. Otherwise, you will lose your love for this game.”, I knew that’s just a random reminder but I always remember it until now. I even saved those things you told me to keep it as a reminder for myself as well. I hope you’re doing great irl and you’re having fun in your server. You will always be the most precious friend I ever met in Sky. Thank you for making me love this game even more and for the memories you gave me that will always be a treasure. It’s the way of life. People come and people go, and they all leave something in us, wether it’s good or bad. I’m pretty lonely in Sky now, but I used to hang out with a big group people, but mostly these 2 Sky kids . We were inseparable, would spend hours with each other daily for a year and would tp to each other immediately when coming online. I felt so genuinely *good* and *happy* then; having people who would happily join you without a moments hesitation. Then something changed between the other the other twos relationship without me noticing. Without them stopping to ask me. Without thinking clearly - and I was alone. Honestly let’s just appreciate the present. The past is gone and I know I still have a lifetimes worth of friendships to form, even if they’re not like the old ones

I made a friend in china on here and we named each other, he named me Ai and I named him Aria. We would play together really often and he would tell me about all the music he loved and instruments he could play, then one day he just vanished and I think about him really often. He would give a compliment literally every time i changed something on my kid too lol

that brought back so many memories I almost teared up… my constellation is so full of people but none of them are my friend. Last time I had a friend on sky was 2020 we were besties but suddenly we fell apart and we don’t talk anymore since a few months now, she was like a sister, a family to me but then left me without any explanations… I guess I meant nothing to her, but it’s all love. My friend who I’ve known since they were in their teens (they’re a young adult now) is getting sick more often recently. At times they would stop playing early because they don’t feel well. Yesterday they told me that they only have a couple years left and I was devastated because I know their personality and they tend to downplay things. I’m sure that by years they most likely meant months and with how often they wanted to play recently makes me believe this is the case. It really hurts to think that someone years younger would leave before me. It just doesn’t seem right. I try to go on like normal but sometimes I catch myself mourning them already despite the fact that we still play everyday.

This reminds me of my friends ^^ I've always been a solo player, and during the first 2 months, it was hurt to see peeps hanging out and talking with their friends. Can't be helped that I'm socially awkward even in game. Then I met them on accident, at village theatre. It quite a long story, but basically 5 complete strangers became friends that day. We did some kind of show too :D One of them is one of my closest friend now, one rarely went online, one only goes online to do dailies, and one disappeared (I miss you, you deserve happiness). From that, I befriended their friends and gained a few more closest peeps too. Almost a year now. The spark of new friendships is gone, Sky is getting a bit monotonous and everyone is getting busier irl but still, we keep in contacts with e/o. Be it daily or once a week. That's what matters the most

Ahh this is so beautiful! When you find friends you get along with. And it must be so great to have such a big group of friends. In the year and a half I've been playing Sky, I've met two people who are just like your friend. I remember my first friend, they helped me play Sky and taught me things when I first started. I never talked to them. We didn't have a chat and we only communicated through emotions. I love them a lot, but when I learned to play Sky perfectly, they left. They started playing at a different time than me and made new friends. So we parted ways even though I know they're online every day. And then about a year later I met another person who completely changed my life. Even though he's just a Sky friend I've never seen in real life and probably never will. But for the last six months, we've been playing together a lot. I think we've been through a lot together that has been hard and many times I've been scared that he would leave me. But in the end, even after the hard times, he stayed with me. I love him very much. And if times get tough again, we'll get through it together.

This is giving me a lot of nostalgia hehe. Last year during July (2021) I would play Sky all the time with my friend and it made our bond grew stronger and I would play anytime I could with them and their other friends. We did a lot of missions together, they even helped me get through Eden which I was very emotional about lol. It's been a year since I last spoke to them and played the game but I've recently gotten back into and I play it with my boyfriend and it makes me really happy because it gives me so much memories. This video makes me happy and sad. I met with the Moff yesterday. She also doesn't have a friend in the game... But I'm from Russia and my English is so bad. I'm so happy because a lot of people aren't mad about it. I guess we could say thank you, it doesn't seem easy. I think I make mistakes everywhere. This probably makes talking to people like me difficult. 😢 But I want to learn this because I love this game and helping other people. I think heaven helps you believe in friendship, where your nationality does not matter. This game makes you believe in friendship, even if it’s so fragile.❤

I have been meaning to comment on this video for a while, just never got around to it. This is very adorable! Your interactions with each other remind me of my own friend from Japan. I feel like everyone has their own version of Cao in their sky journey, it's so cool to get to see your first meeting! Seeing how this was during season of aurora, this looks pretty recent! I hope you two are still having fun, you two seem very cool to hang out with! I met one of my first friends in Hidden Forest when I was still a moth, and I was very shy at the time as a new player. She adopted me, and we have been unlocking friendship level ever since. I've always wanted a Japanese friend, and I'm so grateful to have her in my life now. I fear one day we won't be able to talk as much, but for now I will always appreciate, and cherish her friendship dearly. Just like how you two are, we always goof around, and talk about how our day went despite time differences (i'm in America). I enjoyed this video a lot, especially the wasteland part haha 😂 Hopefully, one day every sky player can find their special sky kiddo too!

This makes me cry you are so blessed to have a friend. I thought I had a friend but she kept calling me names and getting mad at me for no reason. Still I miss the good times.

It is always great to meet new people. Some might argue that friendships indirectly cause break ups and thus only harm, being able to live all the memories is still worth it. You would never know how a bad day can turn around after meeting someone close!

I am so moved by this video Jacob… It made me feel sad because my moth year wasn’t the best experience. I lost ppl and a good friend that I trusted. Sky didn’t felt the same anymore… and I felt alone. And I closed myself from making new friends after that and took a break from Sky. Months later when I got back into Sky I met a good Sky kid who soon became my friend now. And I cherish her so much. I’d enjoy watching how you first met Cao. And how u guys built a good friendship. I think it’s wonderful that the universe have brought you and Cao together. I wish you guys can make more memories together in the future. Much love, from a Sky kid to another. 💜

This game is absolutely magical. I made a dear friend playing, and wrote a short story about us. I wish I had recorded some of our moments like you have. But the sweetest thing she said was "this game is just what we found our friendship through."

I’ve made many friends who speak different languages over the years and many press me to go to bed all the time (reset happens at 2am where I live) I’ve learned a lot from them all including a bit of spanish, japanese, mandarin, taiwanese, russian, and arabic. They’re all very fun to hang out with and now thanks to the translation feature I can speak to all my old friends I met two years ago as a moff properly lmao.

There is nothing funny about what I am about to say. This friendship, this relationship, no matter the fact that it is a virtual one, is beautiful. Everyone strives to achieve a bond with someone else half as amazing and wholesome as the one showcased in this video. It is actually amazing that video games allow us to be there for each other in times of need. This is beautiful.

dude.. why have I only found this video now! >:C so..I started playing sky a good solid 3 months ago, still a moth. I had this friend who I named Kiko because she told me her name was hope. Kiko meant hope in Japanese so I thought it would be a good name for her. She told me that her mental health was not good and ever since she met me, her therapist said her health was getting better. I WAS LIKE, WHA?? OMG I'M A THERAPIST NOW!! (btw she still plays with me. haven't seen her for a few months tho :C )

my favourite thing about sky friendships is they always start off super friendly and loving then they turn into trying to murder each other

What keeps me going with the sky is my friends, sky community is truly beautiful. I’ve met so many nice and good people and I’ve made so many new friends just by playing it. It’s such a calm game and the fact that it even has its own translator means I can play with Japanese people (I’ve got 2 really nice friends) that don’t speak English and we use the translator and we are still able to communicate, that just seems a mind blowing 🎉😢

Yes, yes, yes!!! This video was just the best and made me smile. This was absolutely adorable and I'm so glad you made such a great friend. I've been playing at sky for few years now, some friends of mine tried the game but they don't really play anymore so i just stay a solo player But i have memories with some strangers that i become with on the game, even if we never had play together from the time we met I'm still happy about this . I find amazing how it can be easy to be friend on the sky even if we don't speak the same language, and people on this game are just so kind 😭 I like being a solo player I guess but sometimes I wish I have a friend to play with But anyways Have fun everyone And This video is amazing !

I met a Chinese person on Sky too. Her name is Amo and we collect candles and wings together. She's also shown me some cool glitches and cheese strategies. She's very sweet and this video reminds me of her. I love Sky because it makes moments like these possible. Confucius was right, humans are inherently good.

My best friend on sky is Japanese and I've never would've imagined I'd be so close to a person so far away. Sometimes I wish I could meet her again on Sky all over again 💖

i love this game for this exact reason. people from all over the world can become friends even if they speak two complete different languages. even if its for a short while, iv been playing for around 3 years now and its helped me interact with others (even though im still terrified) i hope you and your friend are still doing good! :-]

I told her that I might leave sky for a while because I need to do something about mental health andy physical health I other things I have to work on in life I told that I might have depression and she sad. I look up to her so much and I also miss her.
