Sky News host in hysterics over common student names ‘badly mangled’ at graduation

Sky News host Rita Panahi reacts to video of a graduation presenter “badly mangling” students names.
The video of the Thomas Jefferson University Nursing graduation went viral after the announcer mispronounced several students' names during the ceremony.
The presenter seemed to struggle to pronounce common names including Stephanie, Elizabeth and Thomas throughout the graduation.
The university has since apologised and explained that the mispronunciation of student’s names was due to the way phonetic spellings were shown on the presenter's name cards.
Ms Panahi compared the graduation ceremony to the ‘Key and Peele’ skit.
“That whole catastrophe reminds of me this classic roll call sketch from ‘Key and Peele,’” Ms Panahi said.

How does one mispronounce anything written phonetically? Go ahead, little kids. Play cute. The real world is going to give you a master class on it, and you'll beg through useless tears to go back to the safety of Toe-maze Letaqua Bjeerfsoni University.

@@ingela_injeelaYou keep saying this. Why would they hire a retard to read names? Just to ruin people's day? That is beyond the definition of DEI hire. 😂 Should they also hire "special needs" people to anchor the news, or answer 911 calls? Sorry to disappoint you, but their are some jobs that some people can have and some that they can't. Should we hire a blind person to drive the bus so they feel included? Should we hire a person in a wheel chair to be on a pit crew? Everybody has to feel included right, no matter what it does to everyone else. You are a joke.

@@ingela_injeela Why would anyone get a special needs person to perform that highly important task, when it's such an important life moment for the graduates to hear their names proudly called??? A little proficiency here. Not everyone should be called on to do everything. You wouldn't like to be rushed to emerg to find your doctor a special needs person.

@@ingela_injeela This was an important life moment for the graduates to hear their names said loudly and proudly. They should have chosen a person capable of doing that, and if that person was special needs no problem. IF they had been able to do the job.

I want my country back. If I was a parent attending the graduation I would ask for at least a partial refund. If I was a student and the person mangling all the names was on the platform I would grab the mic, pronounce my name correctly and then volunteer to read all the rest of the names. It's not academia. It's MACADAMIA, totally nuts!
