​@@DuoZock Sylphie is a lot like Rudy. She suffers inwardly and doesn't show her emotions. She is constantly self doubting herself even up to this point. She was worried Rudy didn't remember here and when Nanahoshi said they are from the same place it confused her more. Sylphie thought Rudy's only friend from home was her and now this girl is saying they know each other from home. So she thinks now there is nobody in this world thst cares about her. Princess only needs a bodyguard and Sylphie chose to be her friend just so Rudy can say she is strong enough to make friends besides him. That on top of the stress of being alone. When Nanahoshi says sue caused the deplacement incident. It just set Sylphie off. Which Nana knew one or the other would do so she puts those rings on herself before she said that. Sylphie was in a lot of pain and even when Rudy holds her down she isn't supposed to calm down until after she leaves that room and gets aways from her. Which for some reason the anime made her calm down fast and start cleaning up. Which was strange. Rudy holds her until they leave. And she doesn't calm down until they have that walk together where she can't keep up. Her parents are gone and now nobody cares for her. That is her biggest concern. Which is why she asked that question to Rudy which calms her down and gives her a chance to keep trying tonbe with him.

I like how Rudy just starts speaking a language literally no one has ever heard before and Sylphies main concern is whether or not Nanahoshi is competition.

@@kekero540 The "we share a hometown" is what makes it weird, since Sylphie knows that's not true. But if the only language you've ever heard was English you wouldn't know how to differentiate between Japanese or complete gibberish. It would be surprising they both know the language though.

I imagine Sylphie was already half freaked out when she saw Rudy speaking an unknown language with a quite beautiful lady for a couple minutes. It actually feels kinda uncomfortable when 2 (or more) people around you are speaking a language you cannot understand. Adding up she is very self-conscious about her current relationship with Rudy and jealous of other female students getting along with him, and now this very dangerous woman (in Sylphie's eye) who "claims" to be from the same place as Rudy (which obvious is not possible in Sylphie's eye) but they actually have a conversation that seems to be very close from someone who cannot understand the context. The words from Nanahoshi about she caused the displacement seem to just be a final trigger for her to freak out at the spot.

At the same time, as close as Nanahoshi gets at first, it quickly becomes clear that their conversation is not intimate and close. They sit across the room from each other. They talk in tense terms, look away from each other, and raise their voices from time to time. It's a confusing mixture of a strange shared history, which is especially strange since Sylphie has known Rudy since they were kids (from her perspective), and obvious tension and unfamiliarity. And I think the anime pulled that off well. Sylphie is confused and lost and feels left out, but isn't immediately jealous and worried that she's stealing her man.

Honestly! I think I downplayed how much Orsted affected him in my head. In most animes, if someone dies to someone they freak out and then are just fine later. Bro got real fucked up after that incident. Love how dark it was too!

tbh I was surprised that in Rudy's panic that he didn't wind up destroying that whole side of the school in the process. part of that whole flight or fight instinct but that sort of trauma blows past any rational thought. Nanahoshi was pretty damn lucky that wasn't part of the equation.

This episode was amazing. Cant wait to see Sylphie's plot to evolve!!!

From this I've learned that Nanahoshi deserved her own anime.

Yeah totally, i think all 3 isekaied people have gone through enough to deserve their own shows

Something else I feel was over looked was Nanahoshi was excited to meet Rudy once she found out he was from Japan. And this is the first time she takes the mask off for anyone. Nobody in that world has black hair so she stands out. When Rudy says he doesn't want to go back this pisses her off. Which makes her put the mask back on and states she is not here to play fantasy like some kid. In her right she should get mad like Sylphie did but knows that either one of them can kill her so fast. This world kills without much thought to it. Which was a problem for the longest for Rudy in the first season. People kill without much thought to it. It is actually strange that Rudy had problems doing that in the first season. So he actually stands out in that way. Both of them are opposites of each other but at the same time similar in that they don't want to make waves. It sad Nanahoshi just wants to go home, finish school, get married, have kids and be a family and have a home but back there. Not here. Which is awesome to know that how a lot of people would see it if they wont little boys trying to play make believe somewhere else. It makes sense she would think like that if you were isekai and still had a life back home. That's why most isekais now either don't really show you their old life. Or you assume or it states their life sucks back home. Because nobody in these new isekais really fight hard to go back home. Not like some females do in older isekais. She being one of them.

There's also the fact that he died, she didn't, she was just teleported, he went through a whole childhood where he slowly learned about that world, had experiences he never really had back home, grew attached to a bunch of people there, and she just kinda showed up, got picked up by orsted, and travelled through this weir and unfriendly place where she didn't even speak a language or know anyone at all, i could see how ome would accept that even having their own memories, they died, there's nothing for them back home, but she doesn't see it that way because she didn't go through the whole reincarnation process

She is the opposite in that she refuses to try to be happy there. Which is understandable. And kinda make since if you did have a life you loved. It doesn't take away from the fact that Rudy thought out the series has been acting out his fantasy and even gets called out on it for it. By Ruijied in the first season, by Paul in the Millis continent and by Nanahoshi. Which in the story he was avoiding certain people this whole time because he knew he was going to get called out for his behavior. He already assumed Sevenstar was from Japan because of the name and what they did for the school. He also avoids the princess and Luke because he doesn't want be involved in their noble actions. He assumes her being number one in school is just a way for her to get power and fight in an noble war for the throne. Which he is right.

@@matheusrudzevicius6448 I know, I feel the same and yet so many are popular and have a huge fan base. It speaks to young men in a way. Just up and moving to a new way of life. Not caring about the old one. Reincarnation or just transported to another world, these MC just get a harem and become overpowered and don't even try to go back. It's just a dream for people.

Sylphie losing her cool and having legitimate rage was a very nice character development, imo

This episode was just a full blown lore dumping truck and i loved it.

These videos all have amazing quality, please never stop making them. There are a lot of details from the LNs that I wish could make it into the anime, I feel like I'm missing the full product sometime & I will probably have to read the LNs. That detail in particular about Rudeus's body not aging when he talks to the man god just like Nanahoshi kind of blew my mind, though I'm not sure that detail will actually matter. MT is impressive in many ways, it's somehow able to nail all of plot, characters, and worldbuilding, which is hard to do, and I'm envious of the author's talent. I think what I find most impressive about it though is just the sheer quantity of great ideas. Here we have a series that became way before the onslaught of isekai, where the "hero" was summoned not because the world needed saving but rather it's some mystery, where we watch a character go throughout their entire life unlike other shows where Ash Ketchum is 10 years old for 20 years, where we watch this character sit on this deep secret that they're from another world and bump into a character who was isekai'd with them. The idea of having turning points are incredible, the sort of rotating cast, and the way that the power scale is demonstrated with the classifications is good as well. Sometimes I don't know where all these ideas are coming from, it's impressive that a series so early on could come up with so many interesting questions that later isekais just don't explore. The series is really built different.

The author is indeed really clever. It's been a decade, and there's some idea in MT that still a little bit fresh and honestly really cool. For example, world-powers across the world observing and reacting to unidentified country level casting is pretty sick concept.

something that stood out to me is how she says the world doesn't feel real to her, and i'm wondering if that is because she doesn't have any mana. everything in that world has mana, that mana connects them to the world and makes them part of it, but nanahoshi doesn't HAVE mana so i wonder if that's part of why is doesn't feel real (aside from seeming like something out of a video game) also i didn't catch that her first name was shizuka, when fitz called her "silent sevenstar" the sevenstar naturally stood out to me as nanahoshi (seven=nana star=hoshi) but i didn't catch her saying her name was shizuka (shizuka=peaceful, or still, or i guess silent in this case) so her name is basically just a translation of her japanese name.

I'd say that's more of her perception or how she wants to see the world as to maintain her rejection, we see through Rudy's POV how real it is multiple times during series.

i think this episode can be regarded one of the bestest yet (from the available episodes), since it showed alot of things in this. rudeus’s panic attack, nanahoshi appearance, teleportation lore, sylphie felt she knows nothing about rudeus, the use of made-up language, slyphie’s rage, and how slyphie felt that if she wants to be as fitz to rudeus or be as slyphie and the change of language after rudeus woke up from jp to the made-up language is a great touch, reminding us that we are in a different world after all, and how slyphie tried to understand by walking around in the room, being sad that rudeus and nanahoshi could be in a relationship as they had a history together. im sure this could be the episode of the series, but im expecting the eps 10 so much (i can quite predict the story already from the title) and the last episode, it looks like they have a lot of potential to be the greatest episode yet, so i’ll wait it out. i kinda want to read the manga, but im an anime-watcher only so yea

From the perspective of an anime-only it's really confusing what Ariel is telling Sylphie to do with the name "Fitz". Me, as a LN reader and amateur translator, had a hard time understanding it as told. I do have a feeling they might go back and explain the whole: boss of the school stuff, tho. It would make a more interesting slice-of-life episode before we go ham on the sylphie stuff.

For me other than the Rudeus x Sara altercation episode this is the best episode of the season so far. Being a light novel reader I feel like the anime onlys got everything they needed from the run in with Nanahoshi. The voice acting was some of the best in the series for sure, and I feel like this episode will mark the start of the more important events of the school arc. Looking forward to the next couple episodes

I didn't even realize the chalkboard scene means they can skip stuff now. Which makes sense that they will because they can't animate everything. And readers have already been upset at somethings. That's disappointing but it probably will happen. But we can't say anything because then people will be upset we spoiled them. When you watch enough and read enough you know it is bond to happen. It becomes easier to figure out what they will skip just to pace the story.

Are you talking about those "Layered shape" words on the blackboard? If that is so, I think we don't need to worry too much about that. Maybe it's just a description of how summoning magic works in 2D. If they remove the "Nanahoshi broken" chapter, so many stories are going to change including the conflict with Ludy's sister after the party. I don't believe they are going to do that.

More details the better!

Something I love about the conversation about their old lives is how Nanahoshi reacts to Rudeus not wanting to go back. She asks if he left anyone behind like she did, a family perhaps. He just says he has no regrets, that he's home now. She takes that to mean that he had "a good, long life" and doesn't think much of it. It's a tragic thing that most people would assume anyone who doesn't want to return to their old life has done everything they wanted to, fulfilled in every way. The reality is that there are those who would swap their world out for another in a heartbeat, if given the chance. Even one like this, filled with difficulties of its own, would be a second chance worth taking. I know I would.

The idea of we watching "different" timeline tingle my brain in certain way, if they really cooking something I hope we see that rudeus in action....

Ironically the series takes one of the tropes with going to a another world and smashes it to pieces with those two meaning that if going to a different world you want to be reincarnated because unless the individual or the gods of that world gives you the ability to use those powers you will end up like nanohsi

This skipped content video felt necessary for me to understand the story better, things feel very rushed with not much drawn out explanations as to what's happening or just having a slower progression through the story. Anyway great vid helped a lot and keep it up -

Well the whole answer to the displacement incident is tied up in the story of the Playback Miko who actually summoned Shinohara Akito who is Nanahoshi's boyfriend. The event that leads to Nanahoshi's summoning is explained in the story of the Playback Miko who I have to say has a tragic backstory to her life or I should say lives since she keeps reliving similar events over and over with some variations. It's like she's caught up in a replay of her horrible life that repeats with changes to how it plays out but still ends with her dyeing most of the time before she's ten years old. But in one of her lives she doesn't and ends up summoning this boy who's supposed to be the Hero "Shinohara Akito" and it's the events that play out their and her feelings for him that lead to her trying to summon someone close to him to help him that lead to Nanahoshi being summoned but in the past so that's why she's stuck in her aging because the conditions that lead to her being summoned which are also in a round about way responsible for Rudious's soul being pulled into this world in order to make it possible for Nanahoshi to be brought into this world. All of these events are linked the Playback Miko, Shinohara Akito, Rudious Greyrat and Nanahoshi. So if you want to know more about how all of this comes about look into the story of the Playback Miko. BTW she is born in the future after the Ashura Kingdom has changed or no longer exists and a new kingdom is formed in the Fitoa Region which is where the Playback Miko is and where Shinohara Akito get's summoned to and is also where the events playout that leads to the Playback Miko trying to summon someone with close ties to him in order to help save him and so that's why Nanahoshi ends up being summoned but because of certain conditions she is unable to be summoned to that time and ends up in the passed because Rudious who is the catalyst to getting her into the world is born in the passed and hence why she is stuck in her age because otherwise she would die before she'd get to the time they are. This is a whole deeply thought out world story for an issikai series. It has events that don't end up being played out till after the events of this series and follows into the next series to come. It also has back story events that go back well beyond the past of this current one that tell how the whole world started and what lead up to the war between the Man God Hitogami and the Dragon God so there was a lot of deep world building that went into creating this world and everything for this series and beyond.

first of all, i ll just said that a was very happy about this episode nothing cmpare to the desaster we got last week, murdering our big boy Badi like that. they did skip the ''new boss in town'' content and i think it k cause as you mention and as i know as well rudy doesnt any of that and the show doesnt like to show the good side of rudy so well as well. They could save lot of precious minute this way so i was k with it. There is indeed alot of inner dialogue in rudy head about the fact that he doesnt want to relieve is name and in my opinion they should have mention it somehow but this isnt a really big deal since he mention that he doesnt want to return and most of it rudy doesnt want to reveal any of this as well so im k with it. the language barrier was very well done in my opinion, havent seen a smooth transition like this in any other isekai anime like this, it was brillant and well done from their part. Really enjoy your content, remind me of when i read about the book. Keep up the good work

Rudeus: “I must partaking the local customs.”

I assume Nanahoshi and Orsted didn't stick around after healing Rudeus because Eris and Ruijerd were there, and they didn't want to have to fight them again. So she just said "heal him", and they left to go to the next teleportation circle before they woke up.

I think the reason rudy doesn't know its sylphie is because of 1 the glasses but 2 the hair color also changed

All Rudy has to say here is “I died in that world, this is my life now. I can’t go back”. He never says this specific thing and I can’t figure out why. I know she knows he died but I think he could’ve used it as a better excuse for not wanting to go back.

Question, where should I get the novel & lightnovel for most of anime adapted from novel nor manga?

Have you ever thought that this is the main difference between the Isekai of old and Isekai as they are now? Isekai of old like Escaflowne or Fushigi Yuugi and to some degree Spirited Away main objective is getting back home while in this new crop of Isekai the MC is all about staying in this new world. Both motivations are not wrong. In the old Isekais you are just teleported into the new world with no new powers or anything it is just you where as new Isekais are all endowed with great and new mystical powers. In the old Isekais you had the body guard character like Van Fanel (Escaflowne), Tomahome (Fushigi Yuugi), and Water Dragon (Spirited Away) and in this case you have Orsted for Nanahoshi. With the new Isekais that character is dropped in favor of a harem guide or nobody at all. I kind of wonder culturally if the way Isekais of old and now really shows how Japanese view their own culture. Perhaps before was more optimistic and a life worth coming back to whereas now life is more pessimistic and would rather drop it for a chance at something better.

Now I'm just curious about the chakboard and what might be changing or what I'm missing.

silent seven star = shizuka nanahoshi. it's not very subtle to the people who do know, but not in their world they're currently in. very brilliant really. I only thought about this now, but isn't the ability to not get older a huge perk? and yet here's nanahoshi wanting to go back even if it means getting older and eventually die in the original world. I'm very sure girls her age think about this.

In the LN, Nanahoshi specifically mentioned her nail has stopped growing, and so does her hair. She even lost her period. This is more "frozen in time" than not getting older, and it doesn't feel right at all for her.

I mean realistically while the idea of never aging sounds amazing, it would eventually become literal hell when all your loved ones leave you behind and the world and people constantly keeps changing around you and eventually you’ll lose your mind after living for so long. @@PatientEndWell, not everyone was found during the displacement incident, if that's what you meant---theoretically, some of those displaced could have found themselves teleported to another side of the same 6-sided/dice world, to the void of outer space, to another planet entirely such as Earth, or maybe even thrown through time. There are a lot of possibilities, but this University doesn't seem to know of any mages who can teleport people to other worlds--so such magic is not common in this world and whether it was a mage, group of mages and/or naturally occurring event that caused the teleportation displacement incident is still to be revealed in the anime.

i don't think they could use magic on earth, if that's what you are wondering about. even if THEY have mana, there's no mana on earth (as noted by nanahoshi not having mana) if they could do any magic their mana likely wouldn't regenerate and they would eventually die from mana depletion, but i think magic in the MT universe involves tapping into the natural mana of the world. you seen when rudeus first cast magic that energy flowed from the ground, through his body, and out to his hand. i think the casting of magic probably requires that connection to the mana of the universe (as she said this, everything in the world has mana, even dead bodies) so i think if a magic user came to earth they would be unable to cast magic, they wouldn't even be able to feel the elements that they need (rudeus can feel the mana in the particles in the air and use his mana to manipulate them, but on earth particles have no mana) i also think that a person from that world who came to earth would feel very out of place, and not just because of the tech difference, they could be transported into an empty field and feel out of place, and i think that's why the world feels so unreal to nanahoshi but i think our world, without it's mana, would feel even more unreal to someone from that world.

They are anomalies, like the Matrix. Which is why Nanahoshi doesn't believe this world is real to her. The world doesn't think outside the box and actually stays in a certain point in life and actually doesn't advance. It like it stands still. So she adds a bit to it to better her position but not enough to cause waves. And Rudy in a way does the same because he hides who he is from everyone. So he won't make waves and gets killed. She doesn't like she can't age and thus can't be back home to fall in love and have families. She doesn't want to make a home there when she doesn't think it is real. Like a dream.

Genuine question ✋ if nanahoshi doesn't have any mana what was that thing she used to deflect Sylphie's attack?

@@obeliskt1024 If I recall correctly, I think the 2-3 rings shown this episode might have been gifted to her by Orsted but she has made other magical implements for herself since then that she also powers with mana crystals.

Not gonna lie i was kinda disappointed with the reveal at least so far, simply because it was such a massive mystery and such an interesting character without the payoff i feel like i wanted to see. Maybe they shouldve revealed more or put it somewhere else where the reveal becomes something much more, maybe just a little foreshadowing of him catching a glimpse of her or smth. So far it just feels like a mystery has been killed without the proper reward

can you guys explain to me why it is so important to keep Sylphie a secret? nobody knows who she is anyway so why did she make a fake identity? Why not intruduce her as Silphie her bodyguard?

how did rudeus came to that world before nanahoshi.. nanahoshi only came 5 years ago and yet rudeus and nanahoshi meet during the accident so if nanahoshi was teleported same time rudeus was reincarnated during the accident why did she only came to asura 5 years ago or am i wrong i thought they were both in that car accident incident

Big episode. Basically a baby Turning Point episode. Curious as to how they'll do the exposition scene in English. If it were me, I'd keep it simple and keep the isekai-speak as English and have the Japanese be in Japanese, but that would require the English voice actors to say a lot of Japanese.
