I'm really happy with the way they adapted this episode. You really do get Rudeus' distress in maybe falling in love with a guy. They took the story really slowly compared to previous episodes and allowed the facts to sink in and I appreciate the anime director's choice on this one!

Its amazing having a protag that is competent and can put two and two together. He puts two and two together twice in one episode

Loved the title for the chapter in the novels, Clueless but perceptive. Well it was the title for the upcoming chapter, but it fits here just as well.

Started reading the Light Novel the other day. After reading several pages of a different character's thoughts in the Light Novel, I am now realizing how impossible it is to translate any of that into a manga or an anime. So I'll keep reading this story from where the manga left off and use these videos of yours to fill in the details of what was left out until the point I started reading.

I can’t get enough of these kinds of videos for Mushoku Tensei, it’s 3am and I’m still gonna watch the whole thing.

I watch a few reaction videos and most of them were confused how Rudeus came to the conclusion it was a disguise. Going straight from Luke and Fitz to the Library worked better in that regard in the LN and the anime did make it seem like longer time had passed

Awesome video as always! Thanks for the content. I think i misunderstood, but during the curse talk, I felt it like, Rudeus just saying he gets asked about it all the time, not in a way of "why he asks" and more in a "he just asks over and over again"

I'm still kinda shocked they skipped Touki. I dunno if they plan to bring it up later but like.. damn, that seemed like it was a given scene to adapt in some way. The way the curse knowledge was handed out was also very bizarre lol. I assumed they were going to skip the bit in the bar, since they did the extra scene in the classroom, but then had the bar scene anyway? So the class scene just felt forced for no reason. *shrug*

Considerig the research around transferring El's curse, and the two beast girls, Man-God really hedged his bets on him finding a cure here.

I like the skipped content, i dont plan to read the novels anytime soon so its a nice insight into the world we dont see completely in anime

The fact they had Julie pounding beers mid episode im not going to be surprised by anything they do from now on.

It's funny that almost every week, I see people say the anime skip this and that, and then when the next ep aired, I see the mentioned skip content. Well not all of course because we all knew that the anime took the POV of Rudeus instead of spreading it out in multiple characters POV like in the LN, which makes the pacing really hard to translate into anime. Anyway love the video man, keep it up.

The battle aura is a huge context that explained the reason of the OP-Ness of swordsman in this world. It's a skip content that kinda make me salty, almost the same level as Therese Latria skip in volume 5.

Yeah i noticed a smidge of a quality drop, only time it bothered me though is when rudy looked down an alleyway and there were people walking that were 3d models i was like "3d? In my mushoku? 🤨"

A thought. Perhaps teleportation magic is so dangerous is because the risk of bringing a new disease with you is a big risk. Imagine if ya know, Nanahoshi built a circle with 7 runes, on 7 scrolls and it took 7 seconds to successfully cast the spell. And they see a putrid green hand that hurts to look at. Rudious coffs and Nanahoshi starts bleedi g from the eyes. And thats how Mushoku Tensei crossed over with Warhammer40k.

After watching your review of book 1 about strong affinity and weak affinity like sylphiette was strong with wind and weak with fire magic (probably from her hand getting burned as a kid). Maybe rudeus weakness is with physical affinity and battle aurora because of his past life and how he see's himself when talking to the man god.

They should definitely put more emphasis on world building.

The adaption has a lot of skipped moments, but it still focuses on the main story. I'm sure part of it was how much content they get done in time for the first Cour. Big wigs always making their employees work hard.

Yeah volumes 8 and 9 were quite long iirc. And there is hardly any content that can be skipped altogether. So it's no surprise to me that they have to rush through these things.

I love the fact that this is the skipped content from the perspective of someone who has not read the entiee novel, and is just ahead of the anime. Most of those little details are huge later on.

The whole dichotomy between Elinalise and Paul is very interesting, especially the way I think it feeds into her ínstense dislike of Paul in general. On the surface you could be forgiven for thinking “Why would Elinalise hate Paul? They’re practically the same!” I know this was my first impression. At least until you learn more about the circumstances for their behavior. For Paul, promiscuity was largely a choice, and he used his charisma to that effect with each opportunity, enjoying his conquests as much as his quests. It was a character flaw he would always be susceptible to. Even during his relationship with Zenith and after the mass teleportation, even though he his feelings for his wife were genuine, it still wouldn’t be enough to stop his gaze from wandering. For Elinalise, her curse makes her behavior a matter of survival. She’s very pragmatic about it, but, as meeting Cliff later would reveal, her curse meant she could never have an exclusive romantic relationship to another person. And you get the feeling that at least part of her enthusiasm for her activities also serves to cover up her despair of ever achieving it. So it only makes sense when Elinalise learns the perennial playboy of the group settles down with Zenith despite his checkered past, it drives the knife deep. Then imagine her reaction upon hearing Paul later cheated on his wife, resulting in a child not his wife’s. Paul gets the one thing Elinalise has wanted for the longest time (a stable relationship) and then he practically spits on it with his repeated infidelity. Yet he still gets to be forgiven AND keep his relationship(s). Contrast that to Elinalise, who found herself forced into similar behavior for an actual legitimate reason, but unlike Paul, she will get no forgiveness or understanding. At least until Cliff.

Sylphie is possibly the only love interest Rudeus who hasn't had a toxic relationship with him. One thing I didn't like in season 1 was Eris and how one-sided their relationship seemed to be; she never reciprocated back in any meaningful way. The whole Sara situation seemed to be more of a passion than genuine affection. Putting aside any romance I enjoy seeing where the story is headed and continue seeing Rudeus grow.

Thats is your perspective but the truth is different. Just keep going with the story and you see real ending but would be happy by this ending ? Opinions are spilit out. If you are really intresting by more details read the manga or LN for more informations because anime will be Cut out the content part by part to stay with limit of time movie.

So I just got to this part in the manga, and the anime of course, but the one thing I don’t understand is Rudy’s massive magic ability, is it a blessing or a curse, and also why. I know the glossed over it but why is it so large or has that not been answered yet.

I'm genuinely surprised Japan didn't censor Julie's drinking, at least for the TV broadcast. I mean, they always censor underage smoking, like in JoJo part 3.

Its is intresting anime allow to make a content creators more viable possibilities to explain it in detail whats was a point of this scenes. For those who wont read manga and ln i think it is fair point however as anime should be hyped up isnt it i dont see this fire i see only sadness , dissapointed ,rage, suprised or disgusting by the same story. For author is also a key point because instead focus at movie future reader who want see the full of story rather took the manga or LN to gain full ending instead waiting most of time for next episode. The problem is of manga and LN that you have to wait into months for few pages. Or even doesnt finished properly so some of them decide do it in form of anime. But still worth it to read + its depends on how is created based on painting or just words. Which also took a lot of time to make it and give credits for authors for support him in his main work as another motivation to create new arts. Look also not only content creator has a lot to the share but also a readers which can say about how he felt at this time when read the topic story. [Integration] is great feeling way of say how important we can be and listen by each others. Its not a easy process it is such a long process which cannot be broken so fast and is built on the years by hard work and a lot of efforts. Even just look like a simple scheme.

I didn't have much of a problem with this episode compared to the others. Sure a lot was skipped but the way they did it made it look like it was a natural progression.

Rudeus internally telling himself that it's normal in THEIR world is probably to shut the haters up about comparing literally 2 different worlds, as if our own countries already don't have different cultures from each other

sylphie struggling how Nana seemingly easily took her seat in the library, meanwhile the anime treated her like a goddamn background character.

Bikini armor still does little to nothing. But it does explain why barely any high level adventurer walks around in full plate armor.

Can rudes silent cast saint tier (he probably can I figure). I ask since it hasn't been shown in the anime unless it was when he put out the forest fire back in season 1.

The spell he used to stop the forest fire was intermediate or advanced, don't remember it exactly, but it made a raincloud rather than a storm. He might be able to though. The closest he got to trying was back in Rikarisu, the big city on the demon continent, when he was being blackmailed by Nokopara, but Ruijerd took care of the situation instead. Stopping the blizzard is no small feat either, but I don't remember there being a spell for that, so it's undefined what level that is.
