Im not gonna be able to decide which one of the 2 is better, but slave to the grind era was their peak because more albums equals more original hits, bigger venues, more experience and the audience! SR got a tough break, grunge took over and ruined everything as heard even on their last album, and Sebastian doesnt have a boring grunge voice. But im not putting subhuman race down, NO!
@randomcommentary60993 жыл бұрын
Yes, that is the correct way to listen to this music. First, you sing with the hook line. Second, you punch the air in defiant support of the base drum. Maximize intensity by banging your head to the beat. Now you have officially become a headbanger. It's good to see a kid like you enjoying this classic metal.

Oh man. Thank u thank u. I havent even watched i just clicked so fast as soon as i saw. SKID ROW was my fav band in h.s.(late 80s early 90s) ok i gotta go watch now ahhahaha 🤘🏼posters of these guys literally covered my bedroom wall..had to move on to the cieling when i ran out of room lol Rob Affuso is one of my favorite drummers. Met him and Rachel Bolan back in the day on the sunset strip in hollywood right outside the Rainbow. Ran into Rob again in the early 90s out in Santa Monica at 3rd street prominade (kick myself for that one because didnt take advantage of that opportunity) i just internally freaked out and left him alone. I didnt want to bug him i guess. But Hes cool cat, i wished i did. ..i follow him on social media (well i follow them all but Robs my fav 😁🥁) Hes a humble cool dude. This was definitley one of my teen anthems. Edit: After i commented i did watch it and loved it. Love that u finally got to these few Skid songs. Loving all ur reactions to them especially wasted time.. 😁🤘🏼👍🏼

there was a real low key, but aggressive rebel voice that Generation X was voicing in the 80's... i love that Sebastian voices the anti-establishment message throughout the song. That emotion was quite real back then... gritty and hurt. Powerful.

IMO, an overlooked line in the song was Park Avenue leads to Skid Row.... a very telling tale because of Wal Street in that era...but more so its about all these clean cut guys in the suits and ties can end up on skid row too... not just the rebellious youth. And that sentiment comes up a few times from some bands during that era like Van Halen and a few others.

This was MY song as a kid. It was the anthem of my youth. I’ve been a little metalhead since the age of 6 & was the ultimate wild child from about the age of about 10. I’m from a very religious family & remember blasting Youth Gone Wild while downing a 2 litre bottle of strong cider before going to Sunday School when I was 10 - before getting kicked out for pointing & laughing at the Pastor’s wife singing. After that, I got involved with older metalheads & bikers & totally went off the rails for many years. This song takes me back to being a kid & reminds me of all the crazy stuff I did over the years. It brings back sooo many memories. These days I’m just old & boring - but I think once you’re a metalhead, you’re always a metalhead. I love all the different genres in metal these days (I’m going through a Nightwish & other European metal phase at the min) & don’t think I’ll ever “grow out of it” like my family wanted me to 😎

Jamel have we told you lately that we appreciate you? You said it right: the young will make mistakes, that's part of learning. What's important is that they have solid examples to look to to learn the right way. YOU are one of those examples. You are someone that any young person could look to and say "this man gets it." "Be a good human." "Be humble." "Love everyone, lift each other up." You are a teacher, just by being who you are.

These guys did an EP in the 90's called "B-Sides Ourselves" in which each of the band members chose a song by a band they loved and then Skid Row covered it, so it includes a song each by Rush, the Ramones, KISS, Judas Priest and Jimi Hendrix. It's a really fun and short record that most people tend to ignore but I loved it back in the day. They released an official video for the Hendrix cover, "Little Wing," where they play it live in some warehouse and they absolutely kill it. You should react to that.

Skid Row was the one “hair band” that I thought mixed well with the up and coming grunge scene. I always got an Alice In Chains vibe out of these guys with a bit lighter lyrics. Great band.

Powerful.

18 and life is a perfect tie-in. Ricky was one of those Youth Gone Wild and see how it worked out for him
IMO, an overlooked line in the song was Park Avenue leads to Skid Row.... a very telling tale because of Wal Street in that era...but more so its about all these clean cut guys in the suits and ties can end up on skid row too... not just the rebellious youth. And that sentiment comes up a few times from some bands during that era like Van Halen and a few others.

I’m approaching 50 too but still doing wild...
Imagine if you would.....Back in the days, driving down the road or freeway jamming on this song full blast!!!! YUP!! Good ol' days!!
I love all the different genres in metal these days (I’m going through a Nightwish & other European metal phase at the min) & don’t think I’ll ever “grow out of it” like my family wanted me to 😎
I was about 8 years old singing “ PARK AVENUE LEADS TO... SKID ROW!!!” I had no clue what it meant... but it was awesome
Just a fun fact.. Sebastian Bach went on to do 4 shows on Broadway! He also has a KZread channel.. Great Reaction
Ahhh the song that started it all for me. As a 10 year old I first saw a pic of them in Circus magazine and thought they looked lame. Then MTV premiered this song and I was hooked.
Back in the days of MTV being music television.... they had a midnight show called Headbangers Ball. I found many great bands from that, Skid Row included. Anyone else old enough to remember HBB?

Sabastian Bach has one of the greatest true Metal Rock 'n Rock vocals of all time.
This was the very first music video I ever saw. I saw and heard them and was hooked on skid row ever since.
Skid Row didn't invent the '80s Hair Flip,' but they definitely perfected it.

There was nothing like seeing 25,000 fans throw their fists in the air and chant with them, on this tour! Loved this man for 35 years.
I think the line in this song that packs the biggest punch is “My nasty reputation takes me everywhere”. You really believe him because there’s so much conviction in his delivery.

This is the first time I've watched any of your vids. I've been seeing you appear on my KZread homepage for weeks & weeks and you didn't disappoint. I'm 32 years into being a huge Skid Row fan. This is one of many sweet songs of theirs. I first saw them here in Cleveland, Oh. open for Bon Jovi on 3-25-89 and I became a fan of Skid Row for life that night. That night was one 40 minute opening set where they roared. I saw them a few more times after that night and they were always awesome. Anyway, nice video here, I'll be checking out more of your offerings.
This song came out when I was 12. This music had me impatient as hell to become a 'wild' teenager too. But then grunge happened.

Yep, I was 14 feeling the same way. I had a wild couple of years from 15-16, thinking it would never end. Then I got my heart broken for the first time. Then Nevermind came out, followed closely by Dirt from AIC. It was all over.
This was the theme song of my generation I'm 45 now and I chuckle but I remember carrying the boom box on my shoulder playing the cassette of this lol thank you for making me feel 16 again
